These puzzles were genius because they were basically solvable via trial and error - which means they were perfect for an audience that was under 10 - which means they were able to capitalize fully on kids becoming interested in video games. Which was the perfect move in that market of the time. Goonies on C64 may well be one of the best marketing decision of all time.
Pretty cool somebody said it was Goonies day on a stream so were trying to remember if Won this Game :). I remember most of those boards so its probably a good sign I did hehe. Though its really confusing seeing a few of the things trying to figure it all out. I remember the board with the steam pipes for sure. Then like the others near the boat sailing away. Its odd how had to like switch back and forth. I guess if the bats touch you that is all it takes or those birds on the other board. Kinda cool how the boat sails away. That must be Sloth its tough to tell who each character is supposed to be. Surprised it only took like 13 minutes but I guess if know what doing its not really difficult :).
@@Emulous79 Yeah I was not sure who any of them were either ;). I was trying to find this Aztec Challenge game. I thought it was Montezuma REvenge ro Trolls TRibulations :). I can't really remember the game. I thought I had them all on Commodore too :). NOw I'm not sure even though I had ESI a lot of Cracked game and lists ;).
I think I have this game somewhere in my collection, although I don’t know where. I could never figure out how to get past the first screen, so after a couple different occasions of trying I just gave up and never played it again. I’ll have to dig it out if I can find it and try again.
As a kid I couldn't figure out how to get past the second screen. I enjoyed finally seeing the rest of it.
Solving this was one of life's treasures :)

Yeah, it's pretty close to the movie. The blocky pixels don't exactly benefit the character features, of course.

The Atari 800 colors are so much better as I'm watching a video of this and it at the same time.
And the music of course.

Takes some getting to grips with. Back in the day I couldn't beat the third level.
Speils on Wheels...St Marks Church School...
Where is that?
Why your game is faster than mine? I have tested both normal and alt version (USA, Europe).
I played this on WinVice emulator in NTSC mode. Are you playing the original in PAL?
