I agree with you on this a 💯🔥this was a valuable video !!!!!…… I hope one of the NY coaching staff listens to this!!!!!….they have get this locker room back in order to move forward!!!!💙🔥🏈
Coach Gene, I've been saying the same thing that you said about Evan Neal since AT got injured.. you don't start and play successfully at Alabama for Saban and get drafted as a LEFT tackle and then like Eric Flowers you play people out of position.. thanks coach
Thanks Coach, that was spot on! I don’t know how we’re still having the same problems. Most people learn from their mistakes but not the Giants. If I’m not mistaken, John Runyan is also playing out of position. I think he had been playing right guard, and they put him at left instead of putting Ezuedo there. It’s almost like they brought in a lot of guards in the off-season and not enough tackles. Now they have this guy they brought in named Hubbard and people are saying they’re going to put him at right tackle and move Eluemunor to left tackle so once again, Neal won’t be playing. I guess we’ll see what happens, it’s so frustrating because it throws off the timing for everything as well as the communication. Thanks for your time and your podcast 😎
Great points! I’ve said this a few times, after so much failure on the field we have to start looking at coaching. If you see the same product but you said you been changing things up and players been working day in and day out than you as a coach aren’t getting something. Not throwing shade directly at Daboll but position coaches and the GM forcing players into certain slots.
@@CoachGeneClemons 💯! No knock to Daboll but in general if you are boots on the ground in practice you need to speak up when things don’t line up in the office talking with the GM. I agree Neal is too young and waste of talent/size to not find use for him. Putting him in the wrong position as the front office did hurt how he is looked at now talent wise.
I said this once and over and over and over again. It makes zero sense that the entire NFL but most importantly the Giants ruin guys by playing the o-line guys at positions they THINK is best for the player that never played the position at all or successfully. Can you imagine playing Shaq at point guard. Or umm Patrick Mahomes at Wr because he looks like he can catch. They refuse to do any other position change as aggressive as they do the offensive line and it makes zero sense..
Thank you for the Evan Neal breakdown and analysis. I can't tell you how many fools I have argued with over forcing him to play at RT. All I got was the standard 'Great RTs all played LT in college', which is not true at all. Or, "If he is good, he can learn to be a RT". Well, maybe he can't and now the Giants don't want to let Evan play LT out of fear that he will play well and make them look stupid.
Ok three things I have to disagree with. First the Gettleman comment. For all his comments about building in the trenches, he hit on 2, AT and Dex. Where are the rest of his trench draft picks and why would he not actually fix those things in his 4 years. Second, people put way too much stock in hard knocks. Considering the filming and control its about as much reality tv as real housewives. Third, Lock or Devito are both better options then Jones because we know Jones is not it, so is it flush the season maybe, but flush this year and next by leaving Jones in and risking injury is more criminal. That said both your Neal and Saquon points are dead on.
Would you move Jermaine to left tackle & play Neal at right tackle? I would make that move. Neal at least can help the run game. Not sure if Joshua does that.
Evan Neal didn't look bad in the preseason reps he got this past summer at right tackle. Josh Ezeudu got reps at left tackle last summer and he looked awful! Daboll is an awful head coach and now he's playing the blame game by throwing Daniel Jones under the bus during his post game presser, just like he did last year with the defensive staff.
@@CoachGeneClemons definitely both. We have had so many combinations of headcoaches and GMs who have failed to establish a philosophy and a culture. The last culture that we did have was because of Ernie Accorsi, a GM who continued that ideology from his predecessor, George Young. Ernie Accorsi's hiring of Tom Coughlin solidified the team's identity. Though I do think Fassel had a vision, he couldn't get out of the way of his lack of self discipline. Step in Jerry Reese who eventually threw Coughlin under the bus, and culture left the team along with any hint of philosophy. After 3 seasons, honestly, I do not trust this regime to turn things around. So why not bring in Bill Belichick, someone with vast football knowledge and a clear vision of philosophy and culture? Belichick's up side is he's not learning on the job and he knows coaching talent.
Start Devito he is our QB or we can start drew Lock 💯 because there was a reason Belicheck started Brady there was a reason the rams coach started Kurt Warner there is even a reason Kyle Shanahan started brock purdy.all im saying its better being safe than sorry.them coaches knew their back up QBs or any veteran qb can give them a better chance to win than any first round QB that was a available back in those days, that's why Devito is our franchise QB,Devito shown he can win us games and drew Lock has the potential to win us games too.those two QBs are better than daniel Jones 💯 we don't need a 2025 1st round QB bust 💯
@@DonnaSbrocco-rj7uk my point was that when the starter wasn't available for whatever etc reason, those coaches chose to start those players with a understanding that they didn't and couldn't rely on the QB that was going to be in the draft the following year 💯 the coaches knew to think Swiftly to make decisions to save their franchises💯
Love the coach view. He’s speaking from a football logic not personal opinion or biases
And it's not to say I'm completely right. I Just need to ask questions.

Even if they did listen to this, they are too stubborn to change anything
@@JuanCastillo-sd3rjthat could be true
I think they really need to decide what the plan is for this season.

At least give them the chance.

This really was…..why do the Giants insist on drafting players that they are not going to put them in their natural position!!!!!!…..sad!!!!
Thank you for listening. Not playing Neal is criminal.
You’re right about all of it. Agreed 💯
I wish I was not.

The coach and gm are on the same page so they both share responsibility.

Facts. Speak on it. The Saquon move may be the craziest I have ever seen. Only topped by the delusional fans backing this notion
Legit delusional
Spot on Coach! Spot on. 🗽🔵
I wish it was not the case.

I agree. The frustrating part was that Ezuedu was originally drafted to play guard for the very reasons that he has not played well at tackle.
This team is just a complete mess
I'm not sure it's a complete mess but there is definitely some cleaning up to do.
A lot of mis management
And people cried over Reese !!!!…. But Reese gave us a competent coaching staff to get us there!!!!!!!💙💙💙💙🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🏈
@ronnierivers2108 very true
@ronnierivers2108 very true but at the end of it he was making bad decisions that left us in the hole for years

I would leave the other four linemen in tact and move Neal to left.
Don't forget, 'You don't pay a running back that kind of money' 😂
