I remember trying to play this game as a young teenager with no manual or any idea what to do and being completely overwhelmed. The pixelated controls and all the switches were mesmerizing though. I should give it another go.
I played the heck out of this game when I was a kid. It took a long time for me to get it figured out. I think I discovered my love for panels of switches and buttons thanks to this game. 😂
I remember reading a quote from a B-52 crew member who said something to the effect of being on the lower deck was like sitting in your bathroom, watching a static laden TV, while a vacuum cleaner is turned on next to you. The sound from this game certainly gives that same impression.
This game, of all games, should have been a solid contender for a multiplayer reboot where each player had a different station they controlled similar to the Artemis thing.
I would like a hardcore approach to this subject. This looks like ok and promising at first, but after circling around enemy base for ten minutes in altitude of few hundred meters.. Couldn’t get the right vibes to get interested further. Hope someone gets back to the subject and nails this.
Great game, its a shame no other game has simulated a modern bomber like this since with multiple stations and AI controlling them if you wished. Even DCS has not done that.
I'd really like to see a new B-52 game. It doesn't have to be study level like a DCS module (the ECM stuff is probably the main hurdle there), just give us dynamic campaigns that give us the feeling of being part of a B-52 crew.
LOL the problem with this game is you're one Guy the plane in the books had a full crew... And yet you're expected to do it all.... Amazing to see someone pull off a mission, I typically got into hostile radar territory, and I get fighters and missiles dispatched, and it was game over...
Oh wow a way back play back. Steam is releasing older games I guess through new publishers who picked up the rights or something. The Train was just release and “Gun Boat” is due out soon.
This game was awful. It is like a 6 or 7 man crew and you're alone having to do everything. You can set some things to automatic, but good luck. Set flares to automatic and 100% of the flares are dumped when one missile is fired at you. Can't get over how bad this game was.
the immersion of being a kid playing this. It felt like i was flying my home computer.

I was like 7 years old when I first played this, took me about a week to figure out how to launch the plane 😂
Same and when you finally in the air that's it GLORIOUS MOMENT

I really would love to see a reavmped version of the intro theme, at least edited so it's longer or so.
I remember seeing this game at Compusa about 1999 in tbe bargin bin. I love the Dale Brown books. Have and still read every copy.
Perfect game for a vr reboot
I loved the novel and this would have been an interesting game to play.
Omg I played this when I was like 8, getting in the air was a feat for me and escaping the AAA
This is on GOG now!
I used to pull my hair out with this game due to the bugs, usually after an hour of flying!
This game is so great!
I've read the book, never played the game. I agree it needs a reboot.
I want a remake of this game!!
I have this in box but I can’t find a 5.25” floppy drive for it sadly, but it comes with the book its based off of and a few other goodies
This is pretty good. Any chance of any of the military campaigns or the OPeration Sledgehammer addon?

This looks like it was built on the 'Stunts' engine.
They straight up glossed over the part where they had to get to America AFTER landing behind enemy lines in Russia. That's a huge handwave.
I nevwr knew there was a game, I'm a fan from reading the books!
Didn't even know they made a game on the novel.
I WANTA REMAKE!! I will make it myself if I can get permission!

SCS Dangerous Waters did, with the P3 Orion.

@@MrMoorkey Yes your right and I have played that but its a shame its so limited.
@@witchywoman165 Closest we'll get, I fear. People don't tend to go for this kind of game in sufficient numbers these days.
@@MrMoorkey Ya its sad how bipolar the world is now, short mind spans and no time for intelligence.
