In this dialogue Reha clearly said dev and her relationship was already unhealthy and broken, before even Maya came to Dev life. So stop blaming women for breaking marriage, it was only dev fault, he is toxic, jealous and insecure. He did not loved his wife He is the one who started to cheat with his wife first and continue to encourage Maya instead of trying to resolve the problems between him and Reha. This movie raises many questions and it is quite a point of discussion. Every one liked different characters hence they look through the eyes of that character. I personally loved preity zinta's character. She is understanding

He doesnt care if she cant get pregnant, he knows its her insecure and never bring that topic (which means respecting her), he doesnt force her into sleeping with him even tho they are married and he respect her boundaries. He doesnt slap or hurt her or touch her when he found out she was cheating. Maya doesnt deserve a man like richi, he deserves better.
People misunderstand the story of the movie but it shows the picture of modern day marriage. Marriage should be done on the basis of love not on the basis of money, power, fame. Hatts off to SRK and Rani for taking this roles.

However, since she couldn't give Rishi a child, even though we know Rishi doesn't mind it, Rishi is such a perfect husband. I think she lives in pain and guilt and feels like she doesn't deserves Rishi and she realizes it, but again her feeling of indebtedness to Rishi's family, makes her unable to leave him. I think if Rishi's father didn't ask maya to leave Rishi, she wouldn't have done that.

Just watching this scene feom the movie i am feeling to watch this movie back again. The way they filmed the story from beginning till end, the depth of the story, the characters each one of them was the best at their places, the dialogues, the emotions, this film deserves so much applaud and appreciation than it got. But its also a fact that its audience has to be very mindful and mature to understand the message.
I applaud SRK and Rani for taking on this role. Any actor can play a character everyone will cheer for, but to have the protagonists as lovers in an affair really challenges the actor and audience. It is also handled very tastefully and not as a pointless one nightstand. If Bollywood want any hope of catching up to Hollywood more of these thought-provoking movies need to be made

People must get married for love and the chemistry they share. Rani viewed Rishi as a brother, her family. There wasn't anything sexual between them only their friendships and love for family. My life also is same like this movie...i was in the place of Maya. But there was no abhishek in my life to hand give me the white roses. It was the woman alone who told me to go for my love... but I chose the route to never return to him, even though I loved him sincerely from my heart. I left the couple far apart, so that they'll heal from the past wounds & unite back. And yes, they're together now...glad that his family reunited & am happy to see them too cheerful at present. Her hubby was my best friend... nothing more, that's all. 🙂
Nobody can play Maya's character apart from RANI. Rani Mukherjee nt only show her acting skills bt she luked tremendous beautiful, her eyes , smile nd husky voice, true justice to Maya's character. Presently we still miss Rani Mukherjee's absence in Bollywood movies. 😊👍

Few years back when I used to watch this movie. I was like yeh kya hai means after marriage love arises between two people who are married etc. But with the passage of time I realised that yes marriage is a relation between two people but it is not necessary there will b complete understanding between the couple. "Saalo se dil tumhari manzil doondraha hai aur woh manzil Dev hai". What a beautiful and emotional dialogue by Abhishek bachan 😢
I can't believe people HATE this movie. It's just that it's not what they expect: a happy ending. They don't see the brilliant story of the movie. No wonder this movie did so well overseas. But it's very underrated in India.

according to me the relationship between Maya and Dev will work I say this because they compliment each other well i.e they are both sore losers who were pathetically insecure in their previous relationships. The point being that neither are compulsive cheaters, they were just people who were unhappy in their original relationships because their spouses were great people to whom both Dev and Maya couldn't match up. One can take it this way that Maya and Dev never understood why their spouses stick around with them. They knew deep down that they didn't deserve someone so good. They were insecure because their spouses could one day turn up and speak out that they are leaving them and either of Dev and Maya wouldn;t have a good reason to stop them. The insecurity both characters have stems from this, Dev is whiny and pompous cause of this thing and Maya excessively hides her flaws. With each other they don't need to be insecure. Hence they can live happily
The fact of the matter is that all four were exceptional in their roles. Believable. Yes, of course Rani and SRK's characters are not likeable and Abhishek and Priety are hard done by but hats off to them all for pulling it off.

Few years back when I used to watch this movie. I was like yeh kya hai means after marriage love arises between two people who are married etc. But with the passage of time I realised that yes marriage is a relation between two people but it is not necessary there will b complete understanding between the couple. "Saalo se dil tumhari manzil doondraha hai aur woh manzil Dev hai". What a beautiful and emotional dialogue by Abhishek bachan 😢
I can't believe people HATE this movie. It's just that it's not what they expect: a happy ending. They don't see the brilliant story of the movie. No wonder this movie did so well overseas. But it's very underrated in India.

Yeah it's a very gud movie bcoz it's entertaining..even I love to watch dis movie again n again..but really d moral of d story s really not at all gud..in my opinion cheating can't b justified..if u find love after marriage den end d relationship n start a new one rather than having xtra - marital affairs....n even in dis preity n abhishek r loyal towards der spouses n dey r correct..so I wud say cheating can't b justified at all.

according to me the relationship between Maya and Dev will work
I say this because they compliment each other well i.e they are both sore losers who were pathetically insecure in their previous relationships. The point being that neither are compulsive cheaters, they were just people who were unhappy in their original relationships because their spouses were great people to whom both Dev and Maya couldn't match up.
One can take it this way that Maya and Dev never understood why their spouses stick around with them. They knew deep down that they didn't deserve someone so good. They were insecure because their spouses could one day turn up and speak out that they are leaving them and either of Dev and Maya wouldn;t have a good reason to stop them. The insecurity both characters have stems from this, Dev is whiny and pompous cause of this thing and Maya excessively hides her flaws. With each other they don't need to be insecure. Hence they can live happily

The fact of the matter is that all four were exceptional in their roles. Believable. Yes, of course Rani and SRK's characters are not likeable and Abhishek and Priety are hard done by but hats off to them all for pulling it off.
