Big Sleep and Spectrum for the win. Nice!
Bull Angus: early hair band! I can’t believe you name dropped Living Loving Life. Love that song! I like that you always mix in some modern records. As much I think I’ll always favor older music just because there’s so much of it to discover, I’m making an effort to check out some newer stuff as well and actually bought 2 brand new 2024 releases on vinyl last year for the first time in I don’t know how long. I actually have an original copy of that Banchee record I picked up for $5 in the late 90s almost as an afterthought. Had no idea how much those are selling for now!
Ooh, $5 for Banchee... now you're talking! Peanut Butter Conspiracy are much underrated! Cheers.
That Thin Lizy album is a great find. I don't know Blackbird, but the album cover is stunning.
Bull Angus ....the guys look like Grand Funk Railroad in the video of American Band, or earlier, The video of Inside Looking Out.
Great finds 💪
Yeah, Bull Angus definitely have that Grand Funk aesthetic going on. 😂
I was around in 1971 and had only seen and heard that Thin Lizzy album at the time. Too much west coast crap, I guess, for me. Lots of records to grab if I ever stumble across them. I need to make another trip to London someday!!
There were an embarrassment of riches available in 1971, so it's no wonder some classics slipped under the radar. If you were in the thick of the San Francisco scene in '71, why would you look further afield for your music? I'm overdue a trip to the US, Mazzy. Haven't been to Seattle for nearly 20 years.
You've got some great ones there, roll on 2025!
Got to slow down my vinyl buying in 2025! I have so many great titles that I've yet to show here, so I won't be short of content if I ease off the vinyl splurges.
I picked that Bull Angus album up as a Cheapie somewhere in the U.S. back in the 70s. I didn't like it at the time, because I was very young and far preferred pop music. Thus, I have only played it once. Nice to see at least one album i bought, back in the day and kept, has appreciated in price.
Hope you hung onto it and give it another listen now.
@@MrShelf-Stacker I did. Alas, it's in L.A. in storage at the moment and I'm in Toronto. One glorious day, we shall be reunited!
I suspect Milesago is quite hard to find in the UK. I'm sure you've heard "I'll Be Gone"?
Great track. Not much chance of finding a playable copy of that 7" in the UK.
