Bead Embroidery Basics - Basic Edge Stitch. This video demonstrates how to do the Basic Edge (aka Brick Stitch Edge, Standard Edge, Sunshine Edge, Raw Edge).
Thank you, much easier for me as a newbie than the other method I was introduced to (you start with putting on two, go upwards through the second---dont know what im doing wrong there yet). Need to practice that more, but for finishing one of my first practice projects this is doing quite nicely
So I'm working with this great book, but I get to the sunshine edge, and decide I need to see it done. First TH-cam result looks good. I watch it, and hey, those samples look familiar! Yep, I'm reading Dimensional Bead Embroidery. It's like TH-cam knew.
Excellent explanation and demonstration of the edge stitch. I am doing a project for college and considering doing some bead work as I am looking at Native American clothing. This is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you.
First off, you are an excellent facilitator and demonstrator. So well done! Glue? I’m close to finishing a bracelet kit with an included soft leather liner-which glue is best for flexibility and should I avoid going to the edge so stitches aren’t bumpy? TIA!!
I like Alenes All Purpose glue, and usually use the acid free. Only put glue in the middle, leave around 1/4 inch from the edge free of glue so you don't have to stitch through it when doing the edge.
Hello Jamie hope u doing well... wanted to thank u again for yr video but i have a Q in your book u talking about the turned bead edge and was wondering is it the same as clean stitch u show in yr video???
The Turned Bead edge stitch is a beaded edge ADDED ON to the basic beaded edge in this video. It is not the same as the Clean Edge, which is an edge that is done INSTEAD of the basic beaded edge. So, with the Turn Bead edge, first you do the Basic beaded edge (aka Sunshine edge, Brick stitch edge), then you do the Turn Bead edge on it. With the Clean Edge, you only do that stitch directly on the edge of the backings. Hope that helps!
