    This is amazing! Rather than just a 1 minute ad with the Flintstones, we get an ENTIRE episode dedicated to the ad!! Nobody does this these days, which is sad. I've seen more innovation looking back than I have looking forward.

      I think it was aimed at companies or sales people. It probably wasn't on TV.

      This wasn't a TV commercial it was a special closed circuit program only for bar owners.

    • @fromthesidelines
      @fromthesidelines 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This film was shown at a special Busch sales meeting (sometime in the fall of 1966) attended by their sales force and everyone associated with selling it. I don't think it was presented "closed circuit"; this was projected on a large screen [via a 16mm projector] before those gathered to watch it.

      Wrong advertising is too expensive to do those ads that way which is why now we get short ads leaving room for more ads within the same time frame it's about money

    The Flintstones! The classic family show that now advertises cereal and vitamins to your children, giving full-length feature episodes promoting beer and the societal approval to drunken up your boss in the means of getting a raise! Also brought to you by Winston cigarettes. "Tastes so good, like a cigarette should!"

  • @TheLabRatMan
    @TheLabRatMan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +36

    This is classic. I love how Fred and Barney get their boss drunk to get their jobs back.
    "And one more thing! YOU BETTER NOT BE LATE!!!" A classic punchline reveals that he knew it was them the whole time.

      Yes, Mohr was the overall narrator of this sales film. Binns was the announcer heard in the Busch TV and radio ads.

      @mrdroog1999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both actors were indeed talented: look at Binns' work in "Night Moves" (1975), "12 Angry Men," "Patton," and his portrayal as General Korshak in the M*A*S*H episode "The General's Practitioner" amongst others; I became an admirer of Mohr's distinctive voice due to his radio work primarily with "The Whistler," and I remember him quite fondly as the voice of The Green Lantern and Reed Richards from those animated series. Also, check out his roles in the films "Funny Girl" and "The Angry Red Planet"

    In those days, selling beer was often aimed at the average "middle-class consumer", instead of teens and twenty-somethings today. Beer was supposed to be something you drank for relaxation and "contentment", after a hard day. Today, most advertising insists beer is for "FUN" and "SEX APPEAL"....you don't "relax" with it, you "party" with it!
