  • The 2021 Kia Seltos EX and LX look very similar on the outside, but the spec sheet tells us that they're very different. Have you ever wondered what the spec sheet doesn't show you? That's why we do these videos. From tech and safety differences to significantly different rear-seat amenities, the EX and LX models need to be explored in detail in order to determine which one is best for you! In this video, Peter explores these two vehicles in detail to help you decide which one is best for you!
    Thanks for watching!

    I'm a little surprised that the steering wheels were not the same in both trims. I know the urethane is ok, but no heat and it is a touch point you are constantly in contact with. I appreciate having the leather wheel in my Rio even on the base trim level LX+ without the heat (something tells me the wheel has the element, just the button isn't there and not connected). You do an awesome job with these videos. I notice the details, like you always seem to park the cars with those little dots lined up on the wheel and tire. It must be really fiddly to get them to line up like that ;)

      Haha! I'm definitely a detail person, but there are many days where I park the cars in this room with absolutely no organization at all, sometimes it's a matter of getting them in just in time to film!!

    Smart entry/push button start should be standard on all vehicles at this point

      Not everyone likes the feature, believe it or not. I think we're headed there, and to be honest, you can expect to unlock your vehicle by your phone, and share your digital "key" through a text message in the near future. Things are changing and developing.

    Peter - one thing that struck me as very odd with my SX turbo down here in the states: yes, you can lock the door and then start the car using the key fob, and at that point you can press the button on the door to unlock the doors and the car keeps running, but if you try to open the hatch with the car running after remote starting it from the key fob, the engine shuts off. Kia customer service seemed to agree with that analysis but why in the world couldn't you open the hatch after you remote start the car??!! Very odd. Perhaps you could fix that....

      I would guess that it has to do with exhaust gasses running into the vehicle. The hatch is located close to the tailpipe, but I wonder if my EV works the same way. The best answer is that sometimes things are done without logical reasoning. They just "are what they are" and sometimes those are things that we can share as customer feedback to improve the product in the future.

    I have seen the Lx trims without heated seats. Why do some have it and some do not?

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We film in Canada, and our cars tend to have that feature, while you're likely American? Many American cars don't have that feature on the lower trim lines.

      Basically the logo. I don't see much in the specs, but I have yet to go over the 2022 LX in person.

    Does the Kia Seltos EX have a software upgrade for the infotainment to give you wireless android auto? Where do I download or get it? or should I get the dealer to do it.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At this point there is no software update like that. I'm not sure if one will be coming, but as I find out more, I'll definitely make a video.

    Can you calculate cost per km for electricity? Night rate after 7 of 10.5 cents. Compared to litres per 100 km ??? $1.20 liter

      I'm sure someone can... But I'm not sure that you should trust my math! 😉👍 I'm going to have to pass on this and let someone else with more reliable math skills take a shot at this.

    Peter I have a question for all Seltos owners..I have a LX model in Pa,I have a vibration around 51 mph and goes away about 60 mph. The vibration is under your feet,I’ve had it back to the dealership 2 times,they balanced the tires,it’s still there but not as bad. Now while it was in service I drove 2 other LX models and they did the same thing ,reached out to Kia and they said it was normal.is this something anyone else is experiencing while driving? Mine has the 2.0 L with the IVT transmission. Any help would be appreciated! I had a 2019 Soul I traded in,never had that issue,is this something with the AWD system I have to get use to?

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's interesting. I haven't heard of that or experienced that myself. The AWD system is basically inactive at the speeds you mention, only 5 percent of the power would be going to the rear wheels. So it just seems odd to me. I'm sorry that I don't have any more insight for you.
