    Thank you for this amazing video, many You-tubers and people who have traveled and ride the train are making videos. Majority of this Mayan Train runs on old railroad tracks layed down before for carga and then were abandoned. Other parts go along the highway system. The Mayan people are very happy that they will have a new transportation system to ride and to use for the movement of merchandise. This train will connect the wonderful Arqueological sites and magic towns. over all the people are very happy, they know that any developments requiere changes to the sorrounding areas. but they will cussion the damage by planting millions of trees.

    A train from Mexico to all of Latin and South America would be nice.

      Yes, but first trains all around Mexican territory will be constructed (made). Next 6 years it will continue with trains in the center, occident and north of Mexico!!
      Center and south America will have to wait until next decade…

    All Aboard the Tren Maya - Mexico's Newest Trainline! The Tren Maya, set to become a transformative infrastructure project for southeastern Mexico, promises to connect the stunning landscapes and cultural heritage of the Yucatán Peninsula. This ambitious rail network will span approximately 1,525 kilometers, linking major cities, archaeological sites, and pristine beaches across five states: Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo. Designed to boost tourism and economic development, the Tren Maya aims to provide both passenger and freight services, offering a sustainable and efficient mode of transportation. As it weaves through dense jungles, ancient Mayan ruins, and bustling urban centers, the Tren Maya is poised to become a symbol of progress and cultural integration, enhancing connectivity while preserving the rich history and natural beauty of the region. Great video, DesignZip!

    This video was amazing. It was so detailed, you can tell much work was put into finding out so much information regarding everything that had to do with the train.

      Just to add, this train is much more than just a tourist means of transport, it's the the government showing the people of the south of Mexico that they're no longer going to be neglected and forgotten. It's a new beginning for the people of the south to flourish in modern times. This train will connect the people and boost the economy of the region. Train tracks aren't just for tourist movement but also for the movement of goods and materials for the cheaper price. \
      Without a doubt this project will detonate a new wave of revitalization in what once was a glorious civilization which was dormant for many centuries.

      Very true. Good points! I hope the train will be the catalyst for more prosperous times for the people in that region.

      Actually that is the plan of the government, in the next 6 years there will be constructed 3 more large high speed trains: one will be Mexico City-Querétaro-León-Guadalajara, other will be Mexico City-Guanajuato-San Luis Potosí- Monterrey-Nuevo Laredo and the third one will be Mexico City-Puebla-Veracruz, that is the plan that announced the new president Claudia Sheinbaum, and she said that maybe other train line could be built from Guadalajara to Tepic-Mazatlán-Sonora-Mexicali if they have time by the end of her period (2030).

    The train was laid out without any geological surveying to speak of. So many of its pillars supporting the train track go right into and through the fragile cave system that honeycombs the entire peninsula. This is bad because it destabilizes the rails as well as destroys that natural resources of the peninsula. It’s like trying to build a house on a foundation made of sponge.
    I’ll wait about a year for track problems and derailments to begin.

      @JamesPeach 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      People that know much more about infrastructure built those tracks. I'm glad you thought anyone cared enough about your uneducated opinion but we really don't.

      Bla, bla, bla! Nobody in its right mind is going to invest two billion dollars on a fragile rail and no company would insure it either obviously they hired a team of engineers and geological scientists before the train was built!
