      *SAD that the channel adheres to politics.*
      It omits the second biggest railroad project this century after the Chinese: the increase of the Russian railroads transit capacity from 90 to 250 (by 2030) million tonnes per year. Because it would destroy the propaganda that Russia is about to collapse, even though the exact opposite is happening.

      We really are the most ineffective, useless country in the G7 - probably the entire western hemisphere. Look at China - so good at making high-speed rail lines they've almost been building them for fun, putting lines and stations in for towns that don't even exist. We can't even get proper sewage systems that don't destroy our waterways, and I bet we pay a fortune compared to most other countries for the "privilege" of paying these private companies to do so.

    • @SummerSausage1
      @SummerSausage1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You just have a lack of understanding for engineering which is why when we watch the same video you don't realize what it's missing out on, because you lack that knowledge to begin with. Engineering, and especially grandiose engineering projects are about the environment it's in, just as much as it is about the actual project itself. The basic concept is to transform the earth into something more useful for humanity, and if you rewatch the video you will see that that aspect of every projects mentioned is lacking. This is a well made video, but lacking crucial detail about every project, such as the landscape prior, during, and most importantly after. He even realizes this by showing maps of trains, but lacks the depth of anything past that, such as topography, forrests, desserts, etc. The list can go on, but it's clear you lack any educational background in engineering so to someone as primitive as yourself in a field you have no understanding in, I can see why you think the way you do. It's not a jab at your, it's just human nature. People don't know what they don't know. @@MaddJakd

    Hi from Brisbane, Australia. The Olympics has divided the state with many thinking it to be a waste of money. I personally welcome them as our city will fast track (no pun intended) a lot of prejects like our rail system (a number of new rail lines being funded or in a development stage atm, like Cross River Rail, Gold Coast lines with completely new stations and several business cases to extend other lines out to access more of the Sunshine Coast or linking the Springfield line to Ipswich and much more), new busways (Brisbane Metro and other Busway extensions) and road upgrades (motorways and local council roads) that are sorely needed. We will have brand new state of the art stadium upgrades and a bunch of new entertainments precincts like The Gabba upgrade, a new Brisbane Live entertainment venue, new casino due to open 2024, more green bridges around the city for active transport and a bunch of other things. I'm excited to see how the city will look in 9 years time for the Olympics. I do feel for the rest of the state though as there's a majority of money being invested in the CBD and there are a lot more cities in the state then just Brisbane.

    China's assembly line approach to standardization and central dispatching are key elements to the success and quick return on investment of the system. Once the lines are in motion and regular use, the immediate benefits start a positive snowball effect on trade and efficiency, similar to what we saw moving autos and trucks from surface roads to the Interstate system.

    Japan was the first country to have a high-speed rail network, and their entire high-speed rail system has NEVER had an accident which caused a fatality since it started running in 1964. That's billions and billions of trips with zero serious accidents. An absolutely incredible safety record, making even modern air-travel seem dangerous by comparison, with fantastic energy efficiency as well (of course).

    That HS2 where it's now due to finish at East Midlands Parkway (Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire border, just a few mins up the road from me), was set to go through my town of Long Eaton, Derbyshire (Again not far from East Midlands Parkway), on a massive viaduct, onward to the current rail freight area of Toton (J25, M1 / A52) and north via the Erewash Valley Line, and has brought untold misery for us in Long Eaton.
    Mentioning Toton and East Midlands Parkway, there is already ample scope to run services especially via the upper level freight line to Toton (Trent Junction, Long Eaton, where the current Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester / London St Pancras services converge), offering a large cost saving, and a massively reduced environmental impact in the area, not that it matters now, however I feel for many in the town, after a number of properties was compulsory purchased, and now it's not even going ahead.

    I live in Dubai, and I'm happy to say that when you first dropped the Etihad rails video, none of it's construction site reach Dubai but a small glimpse of it was seen on Abu Dhabi (I worked near the station for it in Kizad). People didn't know about it back then, and I would always happily say information of it from the video to anyone who was with me and we passed that small glimpse. Now that the construction reached Dubai, I'm still happy to say that I _still_ state information from the video XD
    Now, a tidbit of my own. Etihad in Arabic means Union
