Nobody sucked you into a match like Connors. He didn’t have a serve and his forehand was dodgy, but he had an edge to him, a mental toughness, and he had a heart, He gave 110%. Legendary

Jimmy says Delpotro would have been in the mix for more slams during the big 4 era but injuries have slowed him right down. Another name to mention that i think would have pushed the big 4 and taken a few slams but due to illness retired far to early was Robin Soderling, the guy who broke Rafa's clay court streak at the french semi final.

What Jimmy doesn't allow to be considered is a difference in skill level of the over thirty crowd beyond experience in big matches. The playing styles of Fed, Novak, and Rafa were radically new to pro tennis. Perhaps their styles were age resistant? And difficult to improve upon?? I think so.

Jimmy Connors won matches even before they started. He was this big ego in the locker room and will not hesitate to stare you down. McEnroe said Connors scared him and beat him before they even got out of the locker on their first ever match. Nadal does the same thing.

its misleading to say that Connors beat Mcenroe in 1991 without clarifying that it was Patrick not John. It would have been a great match but John lost to Michael Chang.
