This book was a crazy ride. The plot is gripping, it keeps you questioning things and makes you feel a weird uneasiness, that feeling isn't heavy but its there ,a bit uncomforting. From a nameless character telling her a story /her thoughts to every uneasy bizzare scene , every conversation and the caller ,to wondering how all of this will connect together . And when it does it takes you by surprise, you don't see it coming . It makes sense and it doesn't all at the same time. And I just sat there for a minute thinking all of it from the top and then had a "ohhh! so that's what it is" moment . 😆 This all really happened in a matter of minutes, all of the realisation, the confussion , clarity, understanding, uneasiness. it's a very strange feeling.
    Absolutely loved this book.

Yes! I'm glad to find someone else who's read it! I feel like this one is a little underhyped. I think I'll re-read it as a audio too. If it's has a good narrator, that sounds like it would be an amazing experience! =D

I'd read a number of reviews of this book that weren't very favourable, so I wasn't going to read it, but your review convinced me to give it a chance. I absolutely loved it. It was so hard to put down, even late at night when I was getting creeped out. The premise was so interesting, the story was very creepy, and execution was brilliant. I didn't guess the twist and I was briefly confused by the progression of her experience near the end, but once I figured out what was going on, I was really impressed by how Reid had put it together, all the clues he'd left us, and how he choose to let the characters progress to the end. I feel really bad for all the people who didn't get it and were confused by the premise. I feel like they're missing out.

Same! I remember looking at the book on goodreads when it first came out, but I was wary to pick it up. I'm so glad I eventually decided to take a chance on this book & check it out for myself!
I'm SO glad you loved it too! I agree with everything you wrote. It was so wonderfully creepy and I also thought the execution was brilliant.
(Also, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't guess the ending.)
I think a lot of people picked it up expecting a standard psychological thriller (like The Girl on the Train) and were subsequently disappointed. It makes me so happy to find other readers who enjoyed it. I really appreciate you coming back to let me know you read it. I could just gush about it all day! =D

Just stumbled on your review and I too enjoy his short, concise, style of writing. That's exactly how I'm aspiring to write. So needless to say, I enjoyed what I read thus far. However, what I took from the reviews was, either readers thought the ending was a cop-out. Saw it coming a mile away, or they didn't understand it. I haven't gotten there yet, so we'll see.

I wanted to like this book, but when it was recommended to me, it was recommended as a horror but, so I kept waiting and waiting for all of that stuff to kick in, all of that scary stuff, and it never did. Meanwhile, before the ending I started figuring out that maybe there is something mental with him and it kind of just ruined it for me. It's a good book, but when you're expecting something else, it can kind of throw it all for you
