BART says it will stop selling paper tickets on Nov. 30. Here's everything you need to know. abc7ne.ws/49kRHH5 #bart #transit #money #bayarea #abc7news
I want to know when fair evasion comes to an end, and BART becomes safe and clean? Talk to anyone that use to take BART, and now drives, and they will tell you it is not safe or clean.
It’s already improving. Bart hit a pretty bad nadir in 2021/2022 with folks camping out onboard and being generally antisocial, but the last couple times I’ve taken it in 2023 it’s been significantly improved.
*BART is a necessity* from SF to the South Bay to avoid overwhelming traffic, *but it MUST be clean and safe.* Strong police presence, especially at dangerous stations. Multiple security cameras on every train and station. No homelessness. No loitering. No rape. No violent crimes. No illicit drug use. No littering. No defecating. No urinating.
Gate go a rounds could also be the fair machines can be complicated, as I was a nickel short of fair on my paper ticket or clipper and had go go and deposit money and the dollar bill had to be flattened and it took a few moments for it to work, that time is something some people are in a rush, so if you can tap your payment card on entrance and exit to get billed exact amount, that would be convenient, plus if you use rewards credit cards, it adds up, if your a cash only person, then I guess either purchase a prepaid visa card or use the clipper card cash machine.
Not wasted? BART knows that there are perhaps millions of paper tickets with less than a dollar. So after 11/30 they won't have to honor those tickets and keep the money without any compensation. That's a ripoff.

What happened to the people who doesn’t have a credit card?
Does Bart still say ahhhhhhhhhhhhh when the doors close ? It did in the 70’s -80’s
Nope
They just want all of your information and money.
I got to say, it's not the fair gates that are a problem, but the people who jump the fare gates.
Yes but both the fare payment changes and the system to stop the jumpers Must work together.
So i guess homeless hopeless drugblessed etc without a card will not be riding i suppose

They want to charge people to ride bart? That's insane. It's a free service for broke murders and almost broke victims. Don't ruin that.
Another reason to stop using bart
