I've always wondered what would happen if you put Uprisings hybrid Jeager obsidian fury up against The Blacks hybrid Apex, and in this video I'm going to compare their attributes to see if we can figure out who would emerge victorious.

They both move different Obsidian moves like a Jaegar while apex moves like a Kaiju. Apex is an actual hybrid while obsidian is basically a normal Jaegar being piloted by a kaiju brain.
Apex is way too fast, strong and experienced for Obsidian, his weapons would be pretty useless against Apex. His Armor would prevent him from getting one shot like every other Kaiju and Jaeger Apex slayed but it wouldn't take anymore than 2 or 3 hits at max to do the job.

Plus Apex was hunting both Jaegers and Kaiju for (if I remember correctly) 10 years before the events of The Black. A single hybrid (who’s much less experienced than many of the victims of Apex) won’t be able to bring down Apex.
Agreed with this apex has just to much experience, speed and strength I had a feeling apex would win this fight hands down but when you put all the factors together obsidian never stood a chance

Apex is in leagues above any jäger, his sheer strength, durability, agility scales beyond any weapon you can give a jäger.
Not to mention he is a deadly fighter whose skills and strength were forged by the years of mortal combat and the trail of blood and death that follows where ever he goes! He's been fighting to survive ever since he was born because both humans and Kaiju attack him on sight. I mean, when you realize that fact as well as that he doesn't have any major damage to his body tells you that he's a badass deadly fighter who's never needed to say “you should see the other guy” 💯💪

I agree with everything here other than him having durability he’s not that durable he just absolutely murders his prey before they can land a hit so I wouldn’t say he’s “durable” but correct me if I’m wrong I haven’t seen the show in awhile👍

I will explain my previous comment. I do agree on a lot of your points but there are two things to mention i think you forgot. Apex's sheer speed and strenght, he is insanely fast, faster then anything else we have ever seen and in contrast fury is actually quite slow and stiff, pair tgat with enough strenght to litteraly ragdoll kaiju and regularly hunt them and apex would LITTERALY TEAR FURY APART, the armor fury has is cool but its not everywhere, it helps ageinst slashes and blasts but fury has a few weak spots.
Overall i would say fury has more defense and versitile weaponery but apex is smarter, much faster and much stronger. This means he would litteraly rip fury limb from limb by the end of the fight.
Also if i remmember correctly apex is supposed to be one of the original kaiju drones from uprising, not one that countered the kaiju in the black. He avoided the fate of those and litteraly evolved. As for feeding? That is wierd, i would agree its just instinct but apex seems to geniuanly digest the food, he doesn't get rid of it from his body so i think that he uses the kaiju meat as fuel(since its obvious kaiju can bods are a good source of AMAZING fuel) since he would most likeley run out of power eventually without it, he isn't digesting it, it seems he is converting kaiju into fuel to survive.

Worth pointing out that Apex appears to be a different model of the drone Jaegers seen in Uprising, biggest give-away... The legs. The ones in uprising has what's called Digitigrade legs, kinda like a T-Rex or the back legs of a dog if you will. Similar to Crimson Typhoon and Bracer Phoenix. But Apex is definitely a later model, with more humanoid plantigrade legs, similar to a human or a squirrel. Besides, they look a bit more heavy in appearance from the Uprising ones. So for all we know, Apex might actually not even have some of the weapons we see used by the Uprising drones.
Actually Apex has the edge he is more flexible more intelligent and more advanced even though insitam inferi has those chainsaws whatever you want to call them can cut through anything Apex can break those and he can also dodged it
Not to mention, Apex has been fighting for so long, killing Kaiju and Jaegers alike. He's become an absolute beast born from pure combat. His insane abilities and extensive experience, along with his power and skills have kept him alive and virtually undamaged since he was born! Obsidian Fury is just running off his Kaiju computer brain, which fights based on simulated battles and data from his live engagements. Plus, Obsidian Fury died against the same opponent from his first battle even though he absolutely destroyed Gibsy Avenger in that first fight. The best thing going for him is his arsenal, but that's not much help when faced with an expert and seasoned killer who has been fighting his whole life! 💯💯

The drones chest beam is capable of damage to at least other kaiju because when they stop the virus in uprising the drones go hay wire and one of the laser chops off the horn of one of the kaiju trying to get out of the breach

Yes but when we say apex is agile/fast/strong we mean ten times that of any jaeger. He is ridiculously powerful
@@aaronlo313 Yes,Apex is a beast and there's no doubt about it,but what gives him the edge is his independence from the kaiju hivemind.
Obsidian is not only physically strong (1st Gipsy Avenger battle is the proof) but he also has a good variety of weapons that could easily kill a kaiju that's not Cat 5.
Obsidian Fury is in my opinion the most complete jaeger ever.
Apex would definitely win,he’s more flexible faster,intelligent stronger,and smarter,but because of his intelligence,he can find weak spots and counter attack obsidian,obsidian can move his torso in weird ways and he was two saber chainsaws and that can be a good counter against apex but apex speed can dodge and break them,easily ripping the arms off and defeating obsidian
i agree another point in apex's favor is he has a more advanced quantum core and a independent Kaiju brain so the thought speed of a supercomputer and the inedpendince of a kiaju
Apex is someone strong and hard to kill but when it comes to "boy", if the opponent was someone who helped bOy, he would stop the fight as if it never happened. Of course is bOy was in trouble, Apex would take away all things annoying him and tries to rescue bOy, but then i think he can't get easily distracted which depends of what's hitting him. It's a shame Apex dies to who he protected since bOy was under control and he couldn't do anything about it, it made me kinda sad of his death, he may have been a predator or mutant/mix, but he still had mostly one job, to protect someone
corrdction to the 3 back up jaegers after the obsidian fury fight scene, all the way to our left is Muder Witch, this side Jaeger was only shown a few secs in the movie and the we know its name through the game called Pacific Rim breach Wars and it has been shutdowned last year, mid is Guardian Bravo, the swords on Obsidian Fury are called Plasma Chainsaw, if you look carefull around the hips hydralic pistons, they look like how muscles are placed, i really sounded like a nerd now
Murder Witch was walking in the 360 view of Amara when right after Valor Omega head fell righ in front of her, the Jaeger was completely destroyed by the 2 hybrids

I think that the only way that they could have known where to call for assistance and where to deploy would be the communication blackout's center and could track Obsidian by the blackout/jamming by radius moving. Especially since it's unlikely that the jamming could cover all of Australia.
That's my best guess.

It's really inconsistent but his armor is said to be really strong but yeah, I agree that apex would win, speed is strength.
It took a a plasma weapon to break Obsidians hide. Apex has none of those, she's fast and agile but she most certainly can't eat Avenger's Rocket punch with zero damage much less live. Obsidian would catch Apex eventually and one hook is all it would take. Obsidian also threw Avenger with one hand and half effort so if we do the math, Striker lifted Otachi ( a cat4 twice his size and wight ) with two hands, If Obsidian could do a Yeager with half effort and one hand she could possibly toss Otachi with one hand.

I do say it's close but I would also give it to apex altho I don't know if a pilot would make a massive difference for fury we never really see apex go all out we only really see him being defensive and slightly offensive there are a lot of blanks spots for possible info on apex especially IQ because if apex has a higher IQ than the pilots of fury then it would still go to apex

The kaiju category scales depends on size and toxicity, not strength. For example, Knifehead is a Cat 3, yet it is still much stronger than most Cat 4s.
I think apex would be injured but would still win.

Ooo a fusion of apex and obsidian fury now that would be (practically) impossible to kill it best
close quarters I think Apex would win due to the added organic muscle however long range would go to obsidian since he could use his missiles and chest beam to weaken apex and then go in with the swords. I find it interesting how apex and the other drones from the black have the same body as obsidian so I believe that they have similar weapons However apex's more animalistic nature means that he cannot use them as well. it is also possible that they may have been damaged during his transformation since he had spikes poking out all over the place.

• Kaijus - Acidquill, Bonespur, Leatherback, Rippers, Mutavores & Slatterns.
And that's the ones we've seen/had confirmed. Remember, the guy was around and fighting kaiju and jaegers for 10 or so years before the "anime"
You saw how boy was able to punch his facial shell in what is to stop obsidian from Slicing off his head with those two size😢
Regardless of how Uprising is Obsidian Fury is a cool villain

In Apex is strong enough that when he punched it created a shockwave when Gypsy avenger smashed through obsidian fury armor it didn't create a shock wave so if he does a punch like that obsidian fury is going to have to say good night and so much faster he able to dodge all of obsidian fury's attacks

apex could try to use a drift on obsidian.
But it might not work because obsidian only has the secondary brain of a kiaju. Which could block the drift from working.
I am going to say draw obsidian theory is just way too powerful and has way too many tools at his disposal that he can use while Apex is only limited to his claws and teeth and agility

Obsidian Fury was beating the crap out of Gibsy Avenger yet lost in his very next fight without putting up that much of a fight. Apex has been fighting his whole life nonstop against both Jaegers and Kaiju, yet he's not even badly damaged. That's because Apex is a seasoned killer born from the countless battles he's won while Obsidian Fury fights using his Kaiju computer brain that acts off simulated battle tactics, past engagements from other Jaegers, and analyzed battle data from his active engagement. Against pure skill and power from a seasoned killer which none other is like, it won't mean much. Not to mention, Apex’s insane agility, speed, and intellect.

I feel like this fight is more like a human vs a cougar, but if you gave the human two swords. On its way to kill the human, sure the cougar (apex) could be more ferocious, faster, and all that, but if the human is smart enough to make it impale itself on the swords or something it might quickly turn the tide. The experience apex has is great, but we haven't seen much strategically speaking from it. Neither seem to be able to lay traps but obsidian knows how to use it's weaponry as well as retreat when it's too dangerous. Ferocity doesn't mean much when you have the intelligence of precursors and the ability to one or two shot at further range (impale). Not to mention the only biological part is the brain in obsidian

Not by a class 3 kaiju, but by Kaiju Boy (more of a cat2 which can for some reason fight against cat4s and probably even 5s), Boy's attacks injured Apex so bad that Apex eventually died after resetting Boy's memories.

How would obsidian's communication jammer even work on kaiju they don't use communications like Jaeger's have
It is almost as if obsidian's jammer was designed to attack other Jaeger's .
I understand that it would be used against unregistered Jaeger's but come on who would approve a weapon that doesn't work against kajiu and would effect other teammates that obsidian was designed to fight with?
But it's just a thought.

I think Obsidian Fury was one of the best. Possibly more so with good pilots.
Obsidian fury versus Diego drone
Apex wins this mid/low diff, here’s my reasoning, apex is much stronger and is way stronger than other drones which ripped through all the jeagers at the podcast in uprising, and the Kaiju even lower category’s just destroyed all the jeagers in the black so it seems they are stronger, so apex was killing just any Kailua he saw with pure ease, plus his agility just gives him such an edge since he is just so going to dodge everything.

Apex is a mega like Kaiju that is also a mix of Super strong mech armor that is fused with mega Kaiju scales and mostly everything can't kill him and plus he's not a normal Kaiju/mech,he's more like a Threat 5 or IV and he's not on the kaijus side or the humans side and when apex fought atlas destroyer he never really damaged it and mostly just gave it a new arm to atlas destroyer,also apex straight and just rip of Obsidians arms,legs,head and weapons,also his speed is Mildly Crazy

Obsidian is still is a jaeger coz only the brain is used by a kaiju brain the body is still same, apex is fully hybrid like the body is made of both kaiju snd the drone, apex is way more stronger, faster, way more brute force while bring fast, apex can just dodge obsidian's attacks and hit him hard on every move imo
Hmm think you made very good points agree with all of them. and agree that Apex would win. But feel you missed a few points that's gives him a major edge. he is more agile faster for one, also think they showed that he can heal over time? (I may be mistaken on healing part) but regardless the bigest reason I think he would win is that he can initiate drifts and use that to his advantage. And due to the fact that ghost drifting is a thing now He basically could read the minds and thoughts of anyone who had ever poileted a jeager including there memory gaining all there experience tactics and skills. Essentially making him the best pilot ever and further exploiting obsidian furys one weakness of not having a real pilot.

i just watched PR black , and to be fair yes obsidian has more range weapons in use as apexes , but in the fights we saw apex dosnt need those to fight bcs on how easely he goes trough keiju flesh , wich obsidian would need a sword for .
obsidian is more slow and chunky in the movements as apex , apexes is walking and runing hes a light weight and after all apexes has more combat knowledge as obsidian due of the time both existed . we also se in PR black when boy stoped apex from hiting atlas that he would actually have destroyed atlas with no problems, even as we saw how he fights kaijus and how he did fight atlas was les agressiv bcs apex most probably saw hoe they protected boy . i also know atlas is a training jesger with no weapons beside face to face combat but they have taken down kaijus with out those weapons as well , wich makes atlas actualy a rly strong buildet jeager wo in this point on how those kids fight and how ppl fight in the movies they actually use better skill even to theyr stupid facing a category 5 but after all they killed it with a other jeager … i know i know . but in evry way posible apex has a + towards obsidian , we saw how easely obsidians face got destroyed/riped of while apexs face could handel a lot . bevore obsidian is even in the position to use his chest beam apex alrady punchd this thing to the ground with probaly a ram trough its chest
