They are even print flyers, etc. That's why in that years, many Chinese celebrities visit Japan. But then other department is using it to questioning the celebrities patriotism. I really hate this about the Asian entertainment industry especially Chinese and South Korean entertainment industries.

However, the vindictiveness of the media, and the industry over supposition, destroying not only his career but his case his reputation as a Chinese citizen is cruel and wrong.

Friend, Zhang Zhehan *is* back. Castle in Time (2016) is airing in China, on LalaTV. He has also made his own film, a documentary called August. He's topping music charts all over the world, consistently. His first album went platinum. He won Asian Celebrity of the Year. Apparently the reward for that is *several* screens at Times Square during New Year's Eve. Which is only like, you know, some of the most expensive advertising space in the world. His so-called promoters and supporters in the industry never cared enough to put him on those screens, even as a brand spokesperson. His fans did. A little under half a million fans organized and voted religiously to beat out much larger fandoms with industry support. We're not going anywhere either. We'll continue doing more for him than the industry ever did, even with fewer resources. Oh... and he didn't just get a business degree for sh*ts and giggles. When he truly and properly returns to Chinese TV, it will be on his own terms. He already has two successful companies: his music studio, and a fashion label. He's perfectly capable of building a media company which doesn't need to work the same way other companies do. The way the industry is run now, it doesn't benefit the actors. The moment someone offers an alternative, they will have a lot of sign ups. He no longer cares whether they ever whitelist him again.
It wasn't his fans who got mad about the girlfriend thing since uhhh... in fact we already knew. The relationship had ended 3 years prior. He sued the account that said they were married because they weren't married. It's only defamation if it's not true, duh. He literally did not have standing to sue the other account. In fact his fans do not welcome such immaturity and would like him to find a partner.
Your characterization of his career trajectory is not really accurate either: he started to become known internationally after the Legend of Yunxi, several years before Word of Honor. He had five million fans by the time that drama finished airing: he celebrated by singing the OST from the drama on Weibo. The big name brand deals started at about that time too. He was already considered an established star before Word of Honor: AvenueX's video talking about the most exciting *upcoming* dramas of 2021 clearly states this. It's true that Word of Honor became bigger than anyone thought it would be, but it was not in fact Zhang Zhehan's "big break" as you portrayed it here. The Legend of Yunxi has a much better claim to being that.

@@albertasimmons-robison1816 nothing has been heard from him in a while. He still has his job, but it seems like he's been told that not talking publicly about this case is the only way to keep it.
@@albertasimmons-robison1816 he hasn't spoken publicly for more than a year. More than likely, he has been threatened. It's unclear whether he will be able to combat the threat against him and start speaking about the case again. That will probably depend on how good his connections in the government are, and how the internal power struggle in the CCP plays itself out. Though I will say, it also doesn't matter so much whether Professor Li can help more. His presentation on the case was comprehensive, and that video is still up on youtube.

He was set up by his competitor (the other lead actor in WOH and his boss) because they are jealous of ZZH's success. ZZH already came out in 2022 explaining what had happened and there are many law professors that spoke for him. His defamation case has been accepted by the Chinese government but unfortunately it's taking very long for the trial to begin.

His company however tried to promote shipping him with Ju Jingyi for marketing reasons, so a lot of people understandably felt lied to. But in fact, it wasn't Zhang Zhehan who had lied. He had never claimed to be in a relationship with his co-star, and in fact such a relationship would be highly unethical. Shipping is fiction. People being unable or unwilling to remember that isn't his problem.
As much as i love him , i do understand the hate he got from the picture from visiting a Japanese e war shrine .
