    It’s the weirdest thing for sure in every one. Male lead is always CEO 罷道總裁and female lead is always a Cinderella. The accident always ended up lips to lips, conveniently kissing. It is so fake. Guess the traditional conservative (保守) gate had been opened, it’s like flood gate pouring out on screen. This is also in historical dramas as well.

    I like watching the period dramas because of the costumes. I am in awe of how they dressed and the colors! Some of the robes they wear are just beautiful. I also like the scenery! Some of the places they film are just so beautiful! the forrest scenes...and mountain scenes! just amazing. I Like the stories that are kind of like a quest. There's a group of them together and not too much love scenes. I haven't watched too many of the modern dramas just because of the same plot.

    I can't imagine that the popularity of C-dramas is increasing rapidly around the world - this is another propaganda statement from China (typical for this country). I watched a few films and after the fifth film I had no desire to watch new films! The plots are almost identical, there is a lot of blood, the woman is the victim... The actors also look very artificial. They are forced to starve, their faces have nothing to do with real life - they are living cartoon characters... They don't have a single wrinkle on their faces - they look like masks! All faces are surgically adjusted to the Western type. We have similar films in the West - here people still look like people! A skeleton doesn't get film offers in the West anymore...

      when they are increasingly more available on netflix for US audience then yes that means the popularity is increasing compared to traditional audience being from other eastern/asian countries. so its not really just propaganda since its actually a fact. also i dont think they are adjusting to western type so much as you implied because a lot of their male leads are very feminine looking and that is definitely not a western type.

    So glad you mentioned the skinny actors. It really is very dangerous and off putting to see these walking skeletons on film. • @elizabethjohn577
    @elizabethjohn577 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    I know most of the time the acting skill is not sufficient. The plots are almost predictable. But two things I love about C dramas ( the old ganre)are :one, the cinematography is really nice, clean and bright colours with beautiful clothes. Two, almost all of them have happy ending. We all know it's a movie and not real, and we see enough unjust things happen in real life why even movies that are for entertainment end bad and make us feel hurt or bad. Why atleast in movies we cannot see the hero win, the lovers end up together, and guys get what they deserve? I, for one want to enjoy and feel at peace and ease and happy when I watch a movie.
    I hate bad or sad or open endings. My heart hurts for sometime after watching such movies.
    These are my two main reason that I love chinese dramas. Especially the old genre ones.
    Thank you china ❤ 🇨🇳.❤

    But I must say,I have been a filmfreak since childhood,but chinese drama is a feast for the eye and hart.Not all but many And two gems outshine the most. Love between fairy and Devil and Love like the Galaxy.So young actors and so talanted.And not only the cast in these two films even the director ship and camerawork.Outstanding and perfektion! ❤

  • @Kittypaws90

    the over use of filters is probably the most annoying and the repetitive story lines. i loved Ruyis Royal Love in the Palace which was mentioned in the video. I thought it was beautiful with a lot of meaning. Also love so much Goodbye My Princess, happy to see not mentioned in this video although it is based off a novel as many others are. GMP is just about perfect, no over use of filters, the costumes are fantastic, kungfu is decent, the editing is good, and the story line is beautiful with tons of emotional depth and intellectual meaning every step of the way from walking the line between love and hate, exploring the meaning of fate and destiny to literary and object symbolism.

    There are stereotype in chinese drama the same as in every culture series/movies. I know it is hard to find a way to make things different. Thinking out of the box is not easy. Some series I find kind of childish some other I think they are more mature. I'll try to explain. For exemple in Meteor Garden, there is a lack of dialogue and sometimes there are "unnatural" behavior shown. But if you look a little further, you can see true friendship, growing up although the process is long and hard (specially for the 2 main characters). But still there are some beautiful side of it. About "classics" with heirs and heroine, well there are so much classics too in our "american" style stories, they are just different. I guess that just like in the dramas, to make a way to be able to do and show something different is very hard. Everything doesn't depend just on the writers, but on a lot of things around it : producers, actors, companies that are sponsoring, customers you are targeting and so on. If there are things I don't appreciate in a story, I just look at what fascinates me : relationship, growth of the characters, whatever touches the 5 love languages (word of encouragement, physical contact, quality time, gifts and acts of services) expressed, the time spent to show main characters personality/strength/weeknesses and how they work it out together. I wanted to make my comment short, but guess I had too much to say. I understand how frustrating it can be sometimes to watch something similar over and over again, and I hope that in the mist of them all we (people watching those series) can find some treasures :D Have a great day and be blessed !!

    What I find weird and a little offensive is how they react to women with even the tiniest scar. I remember seeing the first episode of one Historical drama whose name I cannot remember coz I dropped it after 1st ep, where they showed the FL with clear smooth skin having just a small mole sized scar and everyone calling her ugly. If they did not say it was scar, I would have just assumed it to be part of FL face. I cannot even bring myself to laugh at the absurdity when I realized what impossible standards Chinese women are held to. Scars, moles, rough skin are all natural, having glass like skin is not!! I cannot imagine a Chinese women living their entire life thinking they are not beautiful just coz they have a superficial mark on their face. The number it must have done on their self esteem is unbelievable.

    I was stunned 😕listening to all that was said but to be honest, not a lot of it bothers me as I was raised on western (American) action films where fight scenes in slow motion are all the rage and putting lead actors in glowing light to show them as fairies/lovelies/beautiful etc is not uncommon, so it's overuse in Cdramas I am less bothered with. In action scenes you miss the effort and work put in when it all plays out in split seconds, this needs to be slowed down to fully appreciate the scene, though I cannot comment on the drama mentioned as I haven't seen it. As for CEO vs Cinderella genres, I agree, done to death especially the way they meet. Can't they come up with something more believable? And the CEO's in question are almost always detached, thoughtless, unfeeling robot machines, surely not every CEO in China is like this. In historical dramas, I always predict the "falling off a cliff" part, this used to annoy me now it cracks me up 🤣(too silly). Falling into a "kiss" is a near on impossibility so please stop using it. You are more likely to get a head, face and lip butt than a sweet kiss. And my all time NO-NO is the, "breaking up for the most unreasonable reason". This is done to do what exactly? If the reason was believable, then I'd get it but it seems they use stupid plot twists to bring this in just to make the show last longer but it unfortunately leaves viewers, exacerbated, devastated, betrayed and deflated. And yes there is the cringe fest of over lingering gazes and extra long kiss scenes. Don't mind when the music starts to play over a kiss but please, this should last no more than 30 seconds not 3 minutes. Jeez Louise!!! Watching things like these left me disappointed with my first kiss😔 - Yes u got it, there was no music playing in the background so I thot I was doing it wrong!🤷
    I could go on and on but we need more people to voice their concerns about these overused tropes, storylines, plots and plot twists that makes shows lose originality, become predictably boring or as some do, lose interest thereby giving the show a poorer rating. If you are a writer, invest in finding out what viewers liked about shows that did well rather than just following the trend of a show that did well. Online forums, chatrooms and viewer comments are a helpful starting point🤗.

    I love chinese male actors usually I don't really pay attention to who is the female actress but only who is male actor and I have nothing against watching either cliche plots or some new unique plots in the Chinese dramas stories but sometimes when they make some stuff it looks to the point that I am just like struck with a lightning in my head like wtf how did that happen and than later they make a person who had expirienced that explain the story before the happening and when actors sometimes drink poison or get stabbed sometimes it takes fir a good amount of stab to kill somebody who isn't supposed to die so easily but some random assassin just die from a single neck cut or stab because they don't matter that much to stay alive eben if they can still lift but they must not lol then I get cringed but I don't care that much

  • @Naomi.8_jb
    @Naomi.8_jb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Let's see... Historical and fantasy drama is the kind I love the most. But since I became "addicted" to CDramas, unfortunately I felt bored lately because of repetitive plots. Emperor, infinite vengeance because of something done by an ancestor 10 previous lives!!! Someone is always poisoned and women weak, annoyingly childish or generals. The men always bossy and cranky. In fight scenes when stabbed always in the left side of the chest near the shoulder never in the heart. Martial arts masters wouldn't miss 😅. Aaaand spitting blood hehehe. Oh, the worse of all in historical, fantasy and some contemporary dramas - childhood sweetheart that meet again ears later = 1st love. We don't love only once and true love is not necessarily the 1st one. Besides that, firework, lantern, firefly scenes. Basic!
    Contemporary dramas: ceo x poor girl and no matter how much a woman tries, she only achieves something with a man's help. Boring! 21st Century!! Biking, carrying, stumbling and kissing... Always the same!
    But what really annoys me and that is personal - lies and horrible endings. A couple that lies all the time to each other. "Don't tell her or him", doing stupid things or saying stupid things because of lack of communication or allowing misunderstandings. When they love each other and want to have a future together can't build a solid relationship in sand soil. And finales have been so but so dissapointing lately that I have regreted watching more dramas than I expected. Poor editing I have noticed specially with gaps or changing the right order of the storyline. I used to enjoy more before. Now I'm very picky with dramas and I wish I didn't feel that because we watch it to entertain and to see good thing. Bad and boring things we deal daily in real life.
