I’m super bummed I can’t watch part 2 because of his outcome in the drama. 😢😢😢 He once quoted about mountains in his way just being things to climb over. It’s just another reason to love him more. People criticize his looks and height but those who don’t understand the kind of inner strength, self-confidence, work ethic it takes to keep putting one foot in front of the other against such pettiness will never be an inspiration like Tan or probably succeed in life. He views his challenges as motivation and because of that he literally SHINES like the star he is. Not a Hollywood star, but the shining light of a star in the sky. As a relative newcomer to K & C dramas I noticed these things immediately, and I was shocked to discover how mean and demanding “netizens” were? How many are real or bots to drum up interest I don’t know. But I do know if I were in the entertainment industry in either country I’d want to be like Tan, a smaller man he may be but he has a “big sky” heart, inner strength most don’t have, a practical, down to Earth philosophy on how he’s viewed and despite it all, he is getting his much deserved success. Height is really not an issue. Look at Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman and other actors from America that aren't tall. They are great actors because they can act. Tan Jianci falls in that category of actor. I have watched LMLMV so many times, because it is a great drama. It is fun and the music is great, and it is relaxing and feel good. The friends like to have fun and kid around, but no one is mean or vindictive. They travel to beautiful locations, so that is a plus, too. Plus, it is a beautiful love story. It will become my standard as to what a good drama should be.

To me, the most memorable feature is his EYES, and the expressions he can show. He has a sexy look that can just melt. That little twinkle of playfulness. Slight smirking grin of a rogue. In the performance in the Shine competition (shown here at 6:30) where he starts out singing a soft, entrancing song, to then break out in wild dancing, he showed that and got the women in the audience going wild. And his deeper voice, especially when he speaks the dubbing parts in Love Me, Love My Voice, can just send chills. Don't care about his height. Just puts him on a better level for romantic scenes with actresses. I have more of an issue with pairing 6'2" actors with 5'2" actresses. Either the guy hunches down, or the girl breaks her neck backwards. Her face ends up in the middle of his chest instead of nuzzling his neck.

After that, I saw The centimeter of love as the bratty brother who redeems himself, and Love me, love my voice as a doctor who also is a dubber and he can cook! Large and wonderful cast. I look forward to watching other films he is in. And by the bye, Hollywood had and has lots of actors who are successful and not tall. Tom Cruise is around 5'8".
