  • The Vertical Gunting (translated as 'scissors') gets its name from the scissor-like motion made with your hands and arms. This variation of the technique is to create a deflection with your forearms against a linear attack in order to get to the outside position of your opponent.
    1. Vertical gunting outside to bump
    2. Vertical gunting outside to lever
    3. Vertical gunting outside to head control
    4. Vertical gunting outside to elbow destruction

      Many thanks, Sifu Giuseppe. Much of it I learned from my Sifu... also from Guro Ron Balicki's videos on Filipino Boxing.

    In Kali training how does a person learn to fight with bare hands?
    I know there is no Kali style Panantukan part sparring.

      You start working with double knives, which teach you how to dart in and out striking with either hand using triangle configurations for footwork. We definitely use these concepts when light sparring, either MMA or kickboxing format.

      How good is Kali/Panantukan easy sparring? As good as boxing or muay thai sparring training or weaker?

    • @SakanLam
      @SakanLam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ironjohn I would say weaker. But the point of Panantukan is to support your weapons fighting and give you a chance to deploy your weapon or use an improvised one.
