    Looks very similar to the Muay Thai elbow strikes. The question is, who influenced who? And which art is older and original?
    It looks to me that Thai Boxing has less striking techniques than Panatukan Boxing. Thai Boxing has been described to be a more spiritual art form.

    • @FightDad
      @FightDad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes there's a lot of similarities 😁. I'm not sure which influenced which but there's bound to be multiple cross-pollination...
      Particularly as I train Muay Thai as well as Kali (although Kali is definitely my "core" art 🙏)
      I guess there are only so many ways to elbow someone 😊

    why calling panantukan elbow instead of Muay thai elbow. what you show is 80% muaythai boxing ways of giving elbow. credi should be given to who desserve it. you are doing a great job but please don't call it panantukan when obviously it is muaythai.

    • @FightDad
      @FightDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello thanks for commenting! These are the elbows from my Filipino Boxing system, including how I do them specific to that system and it's context... Anyway, how can you be sure they're from Muay Thai? Why not some other art - muay boran, kalaripayattu, shastar vidya? It would be great you can make a video of you demonstrating which ones are the same? Thanks!

    • @FightDad
      @FightDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure, not taken as an attack, and please do the same with my reply (perhaps it was a bit rushed - context and subtleties are hard via text communication).
      And thanks for the complement (I should have included that before); yes, please do message (or email) me first if you prefer.
      Cool that you trained Kali Sikaran in the 90s! What do you train now?

      @@FightDadhello my friend I saw you ask about how different between Muaythai, Muaythai Boran, Kalaropayattu??
      Muay Boran = ancient Muaythai as the word Boran in Thai means ancient because MuayBoran has history like 1,000+ years ago. And it is Muaythai Plus the ancient Thai wrestling moves and also the death moves that we already banned because Muaythai is also our Thai culture and it’s very dangerous for Thai kids, We Thai called MuayThai Boran but there are 4 Big different style of MuayThai Boran up to the parts in Thailand you lived just like MuayChaiya, MuayKorat, MuayLopburi, MuayTasao. Yes, all of these 4 styles of Muaythai called MuayBoran.
      # In the past we have the Muay Poem says…
      “Big punches like “Korat”
      Smart like “Lopburi”
      Nice postures to see “Chaiya”
      Faster like “Tasao”
      Muaythai = MuayBoran and banned all the death moves and wrestling parts. And it’s a sport nowadays.
      Kalaripayattu = It’s the art from the Ancient Tamil India people that came and lived here since the ancient time and also the real group of people that built those Angkor temple and people all around the world believed that it’s the oldest art in the world and we Thai people believed that Muaythai was influenced from this art Kalaripayattu since the ancient time just like Kung Fu in China many people believed that they influenced from Kalaripayattu too, but if you compare the art Muaythai and Kalaripayattu nowadays they are very very different and not the same my friend because it's already past a long long time like thousand+ years and Kalaripayattu art has more wrestling and I’m not sure it’s already abandoned or not my friend.

      @@onalonan Kerala's ancient martial art Kalaripayattu have many elbow knee barehand techniques but what you mostly see on TH-cam are mey payattu (which also demonstrates body flexibility) and weapon demonstrations.
