Yo can adjust the clutch on these. the adjuster is behind the the side cover where you put the oil in you remove that and there's a flat head screw with 2 14mm nuts you tighten it clock wise where it barley tight. Had to do mine it was slipping to.
I've been looking for a cheap 3 wheeler and I'm stuck between Yamaha yt125 and a honda atc 110, I've always had Honda's but I dont know how reliable a yt125 would be.
I just got a 1980 yt125g. I dont know much about it or where to find parts. It runs but bugs down at wide open throttle. I plan on keeping it and restoring it. Any tips you can give me would be great.
Backyard Adventures first thing to check is your carburetor I would replace it. You can use a Yamaha dt125 carb from eBay. It bolts right up. That will ensure your carbs is good. Then inspect the reed cage but those should be fine if it’s starting and running. Parts are pretty much interchangeable from the yt125 and yt175. Most years are compatible except for a few different things. If you have access to the internet there are free manual downloads. And if you are on Facebook there are a couple yt125/175 groups that sell used parts. eBay is also your friend. I updated some of the wear items to cheap amazon and Honda parts to ensure that I could replace them in the future such as cables and things. If you have Any specific questions when you get into it. I just bought a racing built yt175 for 400. Idk if it was a good deal but it starts on 2 pulls has a nos after market exhaust. Oil pump delete oversized sprockets aluminum wheels jetted aftermarket carb and some other things. Only thing it needed was the drive sprocket seal to be replaced. Sound like a good deal to you?

Clean carb unless its shot due to damage/corrosion, if you replace the carb make sure you match up the jetting
I have heard that the oil injection on those are not reliable and you should mix gas what should I mix the gas for my 175? Thanks

Maintain your oil injection system make sure the cables arent rusty and if they are replace them thats about the only thing thatll go bad
