    Best video review of this bag! I was so glad you tried your large packing cube for us to see that it would be a nice weekend bag. This review is the reason I brought it so I’m happily waiting for mine to arrive. Thanks!

    The bag looks good when it's in photos but on the back not so much. Maybe fully packed out it looks better?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching! And that’s a fair point a few people have mentioned the bag looks a little strange and wrinkly when it’s not fully packed so that’s true that when it’s fuller it looks closer to how it does in the pictures

    I was waiting for this! I like the look and functionality of this bag, but Aer has placed it in a bad spot price wise. If you get the Travel Pack 2 Small you pay $10 less and get 11 more liters with similar organization. I mean is the extra compartment really worth $65 over the Day Pack 2? For $20 more you can get the regular Travel Pack 2 and have 16 more liters of space with the same organization and the ability to compress it if not using for travel. I just do not feel like there is a scenario where the Tech Pack 2 is the best value for your needs of carry. I feel like they are betting that there are a lot of people that need that removable plastic sheet feature and the bag to stand up by itself and are willing to sacrifice functional usability for novelty convenience.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for watching and that’s definitely a fair point! It’s a tough sell when the travel pack 2 small is less and with the day pack 2 coming in at the price point that it does. For some I imagine that the improved laptop compartment (especially since the travel pack 2 small compartment isn’t as well padded and doesn’t have the fleece lining, the rigidity and the subjectively sleeker look might justify the additional cost, but for anyone looking to save the other two bags are definitely going to be very viable alternatives!:)

    Great review!! I currently have the 1st generation Tech Pack; do you think it’s worth upgrading to this new version?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching and good question! The biggest draw on the new version will be the laptop compartment since it’s suspended and more padded and it has a fleece lining. If the laptop compartment is super important to you than it may be worth the upgrade but if not than the original still compares pretty well. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)

    So I know this is a bit old, but your content is being incredibly useful to help me decide which backpack I should get.
    I'm absolutely in love with the Aer tech pack 2. Only thing that worried me was that it could look a bit too bulky on the back and like a brick, but I'm big and I've taken measurements to compare it with another bag I have laying around and I think it is not as bad as I thought.
    What's your opinion on this? I plan to use it for edc with a laptop, a 65% keyboard in it's case, a pair of headphones and a lunch box (these being the bulkiest items, plus the additional smaller stuff like usb drives, cables, and the occasional extra stuff) I've been just managing with a smaller backpack so I think I should be good.
    I even considered other options like the travel back 3 and the fit pack 3 but the tech pack 2 is just lovely in my opinion and a nice middle ground.
    Again, thanks for your content :)

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! For my size I think the bag works well for edc and doesn’t feel overly bulky imo. The travel pack 3 small and the city pack pro are also solid alternatives and will be able to hold a bit more without looking a lot bigger. The main things to maybe think about are how important the bag standing on its own is (the tech pack 2 is one of the best for these but has a rigid structure to make this happen) and whether you prefer a clamshell bag or a top loading bag

  • @sdophoto1405
    @sdophoto1405 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am debating between this and the daypack. I love the look of the slim but just think it might be a tad too small. I need for an EDC mostly a 14 inch laptop charger, mouse, note book, pens ect. But still would like a little extra space. Such a tough choice when the price point on this is pretty high.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! Personally I prefer to have that extra bit of space, but it might be overkill if you have a pretty minimal carry. If you’re looking for alternatives, the timbuk2 division or authority packs may be worth considering or something like the bellroy classic backpack :)

  • @imashwinikr

    Is this good for daily usage from size perspective. Or the size is big??

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and good question! Personally, I think the size works well for daily use for my height, but I can see how it might feel a little big for some people especially since it sticks out a little bit and it has a pretty rigid shape. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag! :)

    • @imashwinikr

      Traveling Salseros my height is 5.11 so I think this will work for me too, since i want an extra compartment for books and files.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and good question! I think that depends on the size of the lunchbox. If it’s a bulkier lunchbox it might be able to fit but I feel like the bellroy would give a little more flexibility overall. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and good question! Although both are great bags I prefer the tech pack as I think the size works better for the items I like to carry, I prefer having a separate laptop sleeve, and it feels a little more stable when standing on its own

    Do you prefer the Aer fit pack 2 or day pack 2?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and good question! I really like both but I slightly prefer the laptop sleeve, water bottle pocket and aesthetic of the day pack. With that being said I do prefer the fit pack 2 as a gym bag when I want to take a change of clothes and shoes. Do you think you could fit a protective insert with a mirrorless camera and a couple lenses in the main area? Your packing cube fitting in makes me think it’s possible, but not sure.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and good question! I wasn’t able to fit the smaller camera cube from Wandrd but that’s still pretty big so I think a smaller camera cube for a mirror less camera should be able to fit. Hi there - awesome review. I am having a really tough time deciding on a pack - I want something that isn't too big that I can use to and from work, and also as a carry on on an airplane to keep my laptop, some headphones, chargers, a couple snacks, iPad, etc. Was looking at the Day Pack 2 or this, or do you have any other recommendations for a everyday bag that's under 20L that I can use for carry on under the seat too? Thank you!!

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Both this and the day pack will be really solid options, but I would worry about the tech pack fitting under some airplane seats due to its rigidity, a few other options to consider might be the bellroy transit work pack or the bellroy classic backpack. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

    Great job reviewing this. Complete yet not too long! Do you think a 17.8 inch laptop will still fit? It fits in a FitPack just barely. Is this laptop cpt bigger than the Fitpack’s?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad the video was helpful! As for the laptop compartment I would say it would likely be a little small for that option if you wanted to use the padded and suspended sleeve. The sleeve does feel a little smaller that the one on the fit pack and it’s also more rigid which would give you less flexibility to squeeze in a larger device. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)

    hey there! I’m an incoming college freshman, and I’m trying to choose a backpack to last me at least 4 years, but preferably more. I’m a big fan of the aesthetic of the Aer backpacks, so I was hoping to get your opinion on what I should get. Is the Tech Pack 2 worth the extra money over the original Tech Pack? I’ve noticed the original is also listed as larger in capacity, and I plan on using this backpack to carry some equipment. I also use a Macbook Pro 16”, so will it fit in the backpack and stay dry if there’s rain? love your reviews :)

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! The biggest difference between the original and newer version is the laptop sleeve (which is now suspended and fleece lined) and the quick access pocket at the top (which is now fleece lined as well). Another difference is the new version stands up a little bit better on its own. The 16in MacBook should fit in both but will be better protected in the newer version especially if you don’t put your laptop in any sort of sleeve or case. The original is maybe a little bit bigger but I was able to fit about the same amount of stuff in both. For me, laptop protection is probably the most important thing so the additional cost might be worth the investment but if that’s not a deal breaker the original might be a better deal. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

    Hello Salseros I'm looking for a backpack in the 20/21L range with high strength durability(some level water resistant but doesn't have to be waterproof) but not higher than say 17.5 inches been considering this Aer tech pack 2 for quality but it's listed as 17L but to me looks more like 20 litres what's your view? Also been looking at belloy classic which looks good but missing a third compartment (carrying documents and pens etc) like my old bag had for 9 years which gave out the ghost. Ideally a bag with 12.5inches or more width as i tend to carry bulky items such as food groceries. I have larger 27 Litre backpack also but i find it tends to be a bit too big for daily carry and commuting i'm open to suggestions also big fan of your channel one of the best reviewers on youtube very concise and to the point.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and for the support! Definitely lots of good options in this range! I agree the tech pack 2 feels a little closer to 20l (one thing to note about it is that it’s pretty rigid so it may get tricky to store bulkier items). I’m a big fan of the bellroy classic backpack and also recommend taking a look at their transit work pack which is a similar size but has a different organizational layout. Might also be worth checking out a few options from mystery ranch (such as the urban assault) or the moment travel wear backpack. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! Unfortunately I don't have a laptop of that size to do a proper test, but my guess is that it might be a little too big to fit in the suspended sleeve (or if it fits it would likely be very tight and not a great experience to use). However if you wanted to place it in the zippered compartment outside of the sleeve with a case or something like that, that might work. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any addtiional questions I can help answer about the bag =)
