      so you want them to pump out products that may not be ready for public consumption just to make you happy? if you want cool half finished designs buy a kel tec. they are good for that.

    • @nominalvelocity
      @nominalvelocity 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +bill marks If they're confident enough to so much as send some examples out to military and police--you know, users who expect no less than their stuff working 100% of the time--how would that imply anything other than readiness for public consumption? Talk about losing face if they dropped a turd on the special operators who would be the only customer of this system.
      Granted, even if the demo units are awesome, it doesn't mean the production capability (or market) is there to justify making anything more than prototypes.

      There's a reason LWRC's .45 ACP SMG was like a unicorn. It's not some DPMS low end peasant gun.
      Companies like LWRC don't design firearms to accommodate the average shooter or mass production. When someone picks up an LWRC there's an immediate realization that the firearm will handle anything you throw at it. That sort of reliability and reputation costs money.
      LWRC doesn't need a lot of shitty sales, they just need those high end user contracts. Trust me, they like money.

  • @jeremycurtis1984

  • @zaitcev0

    H&K could not keep USC in the production - it was discontinued in the 2013. Even if LWRC make a civilian version, it's going to be one production run of about 200 guns and that's it. Get it while you can.

    • @Shadow0fd3ath24
      @Shadow0fd3ath24 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It only failed because of import laws, and because HK usa was too lazy to sell conversion kits or build converted rifles here after they were on US soil.

    LWRC puts out a great product. They are most likely letting LEO test this out an getting feed back. I waited two years for their six8 to come out. Bought one of the first runs and haven't had any issue. I would think in line of $2,500 - $2,700.

    Yes! A 10mm version. For those occasions when a entire bus full of bears shows up to crash the party. You want to make sure you got the foot pounds to put them down. :) But seriously. A 10mm would be epic and sell well. The 10mm market is pretty stale right now because there are not that many options. Most of the people who do carry it, do so because in their state they have to worry about two and fore legged threats, and a 10mm will kill anything that walks, swims or fly's in North America with proper shot placement and projectile choice. Plus I mean it's a dandy round for reloaders. There just are not that many commercial options in a cartridge that is rimless, straight walled, and moderately high power. The 10mm is all of those things. Plus with the popularity of the .40S&W. Getting reloading components for the 10mm is pretty easy, as long as you already have the brass.

    It would be awesome to see a version in 10 mm or a good quality conversion kit that isn't too expensive so you can use it in 45 and switch it to 10mm when you want a heavier bullet.

  • @DjAboo1
    @DjAboo1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    They actually showcased this at SHOT 2015. It had only been made into a real firearm from design programming a week or two before the show. I believe they want it to be run through its paces with LEO's and what not before it hits the commercial market. I know some good people at LWRC and have seen changes in a lot of advertised projects that looked different when they hit the market. Working in the industry, it is interesting to see people go nuts for "the new thing" , only to find it doesn't run reliably without tweeking it on the fly or sending it back to the manufacturer. And even then, they sometimes don't run correctly. Ask anyone who bought one of the early KRISS Vectors. I've seen more of them not running or needing weird special attention than running. I've heard the newer ones work better but don't see a whole lot of guys running them at the range.

      yea but to be fair to Crye Precision, they are likely gonna do what Magpul did with the Masada/ACR and source the manufacturing to a gun company, because Crye isn't a weapons manufacturer and they have a history in working to design and prototype products for other companies

      @lioncelica5170 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Manny Macfly It's ironic too. A 9mm rifle actually recoils more than a 556 because it's blowback.

    They are going to suffer "Beretta ARX-100 Syndrome" if they keep the price above $2k and keep delaying release. It was slated for a 2016 release two years ago. I'm a hardcore LWRC fan and customer but this little gun is perplexing. If they wait too long, and price it too high it will flop.

      +TCArmory I don't know, the ARX failed because it was expensive and really ugly. Same with the USC. This gun is very good looking, and LWRC already has little problem extracting many thousands of dollars from wallets for one gun, look at the REPR, it's $3000, and they sell decently.

      yup i can justify spending 2k worth of parts on a ar 15 or even on my hunting rifle but 2k on a pistol carbine with a lock breach? might as well buy a glock mos 10mm with 6inch barrel and shoulder it for a quarter of the price.

      cgr88m By that same logic, you might as well buy a Hi Point .45 carbine for $400

      +Sam Moon i just dont see the point of pistol caliber carbines period especially at that price, if that gun was in 223 or 300blk then yes awesome but even then the 1000 dollar question is what makes it better than me just getting a 10in barrel on my AR. Its a nice gun dont get me wrong its probably worth every penny to someone. And yes for 400 i would shoot a hipoint 45acp atleast that is in production and i can shoulder it.

      cgr88m Well, notice the name of the gun is SMG 45? It's a sub machine gun, currently available to LEO/military.
      To answer your question about what makes it 'better' than a 5.56 AR, in cases where 5.56 would over-penetrate over a .45. Suppressed, this will be quieter than 5.56, even with subsonic 5.56 ammo. This is lighter, and still smaller than a 10" AR. It has a longer barrel, and better optics mounting ability than a pistol with a shoulder stock, so will be more accurate, as well as the ability to hold on to a foregrip giving better control of the weapon.
      As for the civilian market, I've always liked pistol caliber carbines. They're handy, and yes, even handier than an AR SBR. I would form 1 a pistol of this gun in a heartbeat. My reasons: I absolutely trust LWRC. They make what I consider to be the absolute best ARs, and considering the market is booming for pistol caliber carbines, like the Kriss, the PS-90, the CX4 Storm, the IWI Uzi carbine, and until recently, the H&K USC(which only failed because the civilian model was so different visually from the UMP, and the conversion made an already expensive gun more so)
      .45 is still extremely popular, as nearly every company making guns either makes a 1911, or some .45 pistol, and people just like having the same ammo in their pistol/shoulder weapon. That's why the most popular rifle/pistol combo in the Old West was the Winchester 1873/ Colt Frontier, both in .44-40.
      EDIT Considering the popularity of 10mm in the civilian market, whereas it's non-existent in the military, this military oriented SMG was developed in .45. The civilian model will almost certainly be offered in .40 cal, and likely 10mm as well

    Have you done a video on the Hi-point apc 45 carbine they have for around 300 bucks. Have seen several TH-cam videos on it and it's a sweet gun.

    Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between this and a Carbine kit you add a 9mm Glock or .45 1911 to (besides the obvious)
