I think he's "negative" because he have like no confidence in himself at all, when a fight starts, he automatically think's he's gonna lose, it has more to do with being too afraid than being depressed
Usopp sees zoro, sanji, Nami and luffy have crazy abilities and strength so as a Normal guy who just has his wits he feels like he can’t measure up. Part of usopps journey is learning his sniping and wits is amazing. Like the first time the straw hats use a cannon and usopp hits something accurately usopp is shocked to see he has good instincts.
This is why old one piece is the best one piece. It had not only good pacing, but also actually funny jokes and heartwarming interractions between mates. Navigating to islands was fun too
You kidding ? Skypeia was like the pinnacle of onepiece wanderlust. Alot of people love Skypeia. It is kinda high on the most regarded OP arcs along with Water7 and Alabasta Saga.
what I don't like about it is that pretty much no one died when they really should have. I mean, look at konis', father, he was smited by enel by an attack luffy wasn't able to dodge and was still alive. and don't get me started on the man who used a reject dial THREE TIMES, by that point I was begging oda to let the man die. besides that sik arc ten gomu gomus out of ten would diablo again

luffys voice actress makes this series. When luffy shows them them the map after having almost drowned LOOK WHAT I GOT! ITS TOTALLY A MAP OF SKYPEIA! It really captures his complete chaotic and thirst for adventure. I know her voice acting could actually be cringe for some native speakers but I really enjoy it. That loud whiney scratchy thing she does. Plus his laugh.

I love when people bemoan the change and progression of the series, as if a story which never changes and has the characters staying at the same level and encountering the same challenges and never getting good enough to move on in the challenges they face is the superior experience. You want meaningless added content, bleach is a good bet If nami stayed at the level of navigation where she has trouble getting between islands, she wouldn't be a NW level navigator. If logias stayed invincible, in all the fights were around guessing and getting around a DF power, if Luffy's rubberness continued to leave him invulnerable to most attacks, the series would be crap, because it would be repetitive, undeveloped, and unsatisfying - it would be another unexceptional series pushed and milked to death for no other reason than to extend the runtime and make more money. The OP world would be small and unvaried, and conquering it (considering that the premise of the story is actually what the overarching story is, not a base to make more content from) would be unmeaningful and without sufficient climax. in other words, if you hate progression and want it to stay the same, maybe you just aren't looking for good stories and prefer something cheaper, less meaningful and easier to consume. Which is fine, just don't pretend such a story would be good (entertaining maybe) and would be better than what OP has actually done. Iz kinda cringe
