I just realized how important this scene was. The way Nami is thinking at this moment is how Eustass Kid handled their conflicts (and probably most pirates). Anyone who dared laugh or criticize them were beaten up. Towns destroyed because someone was pissed off (Big Mom is guilty of doing this all the time). He ended up having a bigger bounty than Luffy, but for the wrong reasons. Kid and his crew weren't really liked by most people. Similarly, Gol D Roger was also the same. Anyone who made fun of him and his friends were also beaten up, even for the smallest of things, and was known for having a short temper (we only know this from Garp when he talked about him). This is the fundamental difference between Roger and Luffy: he only gets mad when his friends actually get hurt, and in turn, he rarely ever makes enemies of people to prove anything. You ever notice that Luffy never started a fight in the entirety of the series? Something big is always done to him, his friends, or someone innocent first. If he doesn't know why the person is attacking him, he kind of dodges and runs most of the time until he can't.
What's especially crazy is that the thing that seperates Luffy from Roger (Luffy's ability to let go of things that don't matter) is something that was taught to Luffy by Shanks, an apprentice of Roger.
Zoro is always the first one to save someone when they fall like in this scene, when luffy fell into the water and when sanji fell in nami's body. I think it's because Zoro lost Kuina to a fall, cuz she fell down the stairs and died. And he's making sure no one else does. He understands the fragility of life

@Sg Pradeep I disagree, I mean Punk Hazard was hilarious, and WCI despite its seriousness also has a lot of hilarious moments, it easily became my favorite arc so far, can't say much about dressrosa, because I didn't like most of the character and my favorite part of the crew was missing so I'm biased against it. I don't think it became more serious, I just think it appears that way because the crew wasn't seen together for what feels like a decade

I miss these times when the humor was fast paced and in some cases happened simultaneously. Just look at how even though Nami was yelling at Robin for comedic effect, Chopper gets scared and jumps off the ship. They would never have something like that happen with the post time ship pacing without it completely butchering the effect.
i loved the old animation directors the scenes actually make sence stuff happens in the background and the pacing is fluid and not artificial notice chopper jumping overboard and zoro jumping in to rescue him on the last scene
