Glad I checked the comments before I started typing... I was going to say the same thing. Even talking about the factory strap, and they're own aftermarket straps, they managed to avoid turning the watch around to show the undersides of them lol. Kind of impressive to accidentally not show half of the watch.
First time hearing about this company, and I love it already! Legibility was my number one criteria when picking up my first watch. Of course the quartz Timex Easy Reader is at a completely different price point, but I if there was an opportunity to buy something more expensive I think I have a company and watches that tick many boxes: easy to read, German, independent, in-house, date window, seconds in a subdial
I appreciate this excellent and succinct review. I've been interested in the Nomos Club for several years and was ready to purchase but still needed to decide on a size. This helped me cement my decision for the Club Date for my 6.75" wrist. I even went ahead and ordered to the two additional leather straps recommended. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Thank you! Cheers
I've looked at all Nomos but never really found one that completely grabs me - this Club I particularly looked over. But your sumptuous shots have changed my mind completely! Nice watch indeed, perfect size, looks solid as a rock.
Love this watch. Can wear it in any situation. I also feel that the lugs should be shortened. Maybe Nomos is thinking about NATO strap fans. Thanks for the comprehensive review.
This is a great watch. Perfect size, even on a larger (8-1/4 inch) writst. I got mine with the sapphire back, so I could appreciate the beautiful Nomos in-house Alpha movement. Keeps great time. I treated myself to about a dozen straps - leather, rubber and fabric - and it looks good on all of them.
Nice watch, great format. Keep up the good work. Was in Harrods and I talked to them and they have heard of you. I have 3 of your straps which one is on a oris diver 65.
I know it's been a year, but today I rewatched it for the fourth time, this format is top notch, the macro and strap alternatives is superb! Just to let u know that one a month i look at this video to charge my grail need of this Nomos ;)
WOW This truly is the PERFECT EDC WATCH!!! >38.5mm case diameter (38-40mm is my sweet spot for an EDC, 42mm max for sports watches) >automatic movement >date at 6 for symmetry >sapphire crystal >100m water resistant so I can swim and shower with it without worrying about it >elegant design on the dial that's done so tastefully >a slim profile which is really comfortable along with the perfect 38.5mm case >excellent legibility and simplicity that you simply can't get bored of and will grow on you more and more as time goes by >it's a strap monster - you can dress it up for formal wear or dress it down for casual wear (nato for the beach or a hike, croc leather for work, distress leather for a drink at the bar, rubber/silicone for the poolside, mesh for the weekend? looks good on EVERYTHING) >good price point the only one thing missing for me is - drilled lugs for ease of strap change.

Wore this watch to the club and got no love from the dancers. They named it a club watch so I thought it would be a good bait watch. I still made it rain for the dancers!
Still cannot get past the lugs and that prominent gap between the strap and case where the wrist can be plainly seen. Such a pity as every time I see a Nomos my eye is drawn to it!
@@TaiwanLYC yea.. and it shows out of stock.. and has been for over a year. So listed doesn't mean it can be found lol. Maybe the picture can be found..but not the watch. Anyway this was 5 months ago, I already got one. nomos-glashuette.com/en/club/club-date-731
@@aledanniel oh ok i got you. probably your country has an online store. my country does not so all i see is "find a retailer" and does not have the option to buy directly from the website. by the way, how do you like the watch? how long have you had the watch? it does not have screw down crown right? does it bother you? (i know a lot of manual wind watches do not have screw down crowns) i have never owned a manual wind watch so I'm curious.
@@TaiwanLYC ahh that makes sense on the website difference. I love. There is only one thing that bothers me.. is the date changem because that movement would require you to go up pass 12 and then back pass 9 amd then back pass 12 to change date. If its your daily wear then no problem. But i rotate watches. I have multiple nomos and i am extremely happy w the brand , size, quality. I have campus 28 night and is probably my favorite. Also have tetra. I had metro and orion. I miss the Orion. But the crown doesn't bother me at all. I mean i wont go swimming in it anyway. Dfntly not for everyone.
That nato is horribly put on. There aren't really any rules off course, but to get the watch centered between the two keepers, have it close to the outer keeper before putting it on, not the complete opposite like here. And why do almost no-one figure out that one can tuck the extra bit on the inside so that it actually gets «tucked away», instead of having the end awkwardly sticking out of the lower keeper.
Just wish they would shorten the lugs. The gap btween the case and the strap is just too much for my taste. And it's only an everyday watch if you work in an office. For some professions, you just need a watch that can take a beating and is allowed to suffer an occasional scratch.
Oh wow, a Nomos model that doesn't look like a toy watch! Nice, I might actually consider. (Later added: yeah, the lugs are indeed too long... why the yawning gap??)
I find the idea absurd that one needs different watches for different occasions. Any high quality modern watch is good for any occasion a normal person will find it self in.
I like the watch but hardly a good everyday wearer unless you do no physical work what so ever, I wouldn't like to smack around 1600 squid, a great watch for meetings and such light work but if you want something to smack around and not to worry about decreasing value or damage buy something under 200 like a Seiko 5 or Casio F91-W. Nobody ever goes to the bother of getting a Seiko 5 serviced once they give trouble throw it away and get another.
@@watchgecko Sure does different setting different watch, I thought the video was well put together and I shall certainly watch more of your content. Personally I tend to favour simple designed watches and dress watches such as this, Good stuff :)
This is a great concept, but it could be that you spend £10K on all of these watches that are worth less than £4K on resale. How about topping the series off with just one watch for £10K that will keep or increase its value, and is the one and only watch that you need (an impossible challange😁).

In a 9(ish) minute video, surely we should have seen the caseback at some point?
Hi Tim, thank you for your valuable feedback! We'll keep this in mind.

I have a club and if you don't take the saphire caseback it's just a plain caseback for engraving. Nice comment tho :)
Mathieu Vaillancourt do you have a choice between the sapphire and plain steel? Is there a price difference?
Thats what i was thinking.
This would be a great choice as an everyday watch if they shortened those lugs. You can see so much skin between the case and the strap!
Agreed!
I hate it when you find a watch that you like, but then there is one thing on it that just bugs the heck out off you!
Or alternatively, just brought the spring bar holes a millimetre inwards on each side!
@@MrName859 how do you do that?
Bryan Lim You don’t. He’s saying they should have.
to be fair. it is a fieldwatch and those watches need to be easy worn with nato. that being said. it could be a few mm shorter

I felt a weird churning in my stomach when he pulled the crown and adjusted the time while the watch was on his wrist.
Hodinkee just re-issued this in different dial colors, limited edition of 4 colors, 75 per color
A beautiful watch, but you need to have a look at the watch at the shop. Looks very old school through the colour of the dial. I went for Tangente.

When you talk about a watch but your jacket steals the show. Btw you should make a review about the jacket, no joke.
I love NOMOS.❤️
This WATCH on that NATO... Boom I'm sold, an original Bond single pass Nato... Wow!
In the past I bought the Campus club with California dial. I think I prefer this dial.

Hi Amando, you can find this particular model on the Nomos website : nomos-glashuette.com/en
Never seen any loom and never seen the back of the watch would love to see you know that
Is there a possibility of an 18mm Painswick QR strap being released?
Is this not available with an exhibition back? Is that why you failed to show the back??
What is the finishing on that milanese strap? Polished?
Beautifully shot! Can I know what camera gear did you use? LOL
