Sound recorder comparison.
Recorded at highest (lsp5 and h1n are 96khz 24bit , ux570f is 44khz 16bit). No low cut or other non-normal settings.
ux570f sensitivity set to "For music"

For wedding use do you prefer Sony ux570 or Ls-p5?
To my ears, Zoom has the widest stereo imaging, Sony the narrowest. Zoom sounds the brightest, but the midrange is off. Noisier than the other two. Oly sounds the most natural tonally, but could do with a bit of sparkle in the highs. Maybe it’s the wind sock, if any was used at all? Oly also is the least nosy of the three.
yes i most agree with you. in fact when see spectrogram,olympus has a sudden clip in highrange above 20khz(compared to sony a10 or tascam x8 , dr07x),which make it hear not so "open". but h1n has more problems, not as natural as lsp5
For you, a good recorder in 2024? I want record birds, waves, engines...
@@LandsPlanes i keep two. A10 is portable for camera video recording. and tascam x8 for some live house or instrument events.
Hi Yao, amazing comparison! Also thanks for the SoundCloud. I am looking at exactly those 3 recorders for recording with DJI Pocket 3 while bike packing and hiking (not during intense action, more ambient sound recording). So I am interested in wide stereo and also direct sounds like bike pump, camping kettle, fountains etc. What would you say is best for this job? Would love the Sony PCM A10 but hard to get. Hi David, my personal opinion is that a10, lsp5 and h1n are similar in level. Specifically, h1n has the widest sound field and a good sense of presence, but its mid-range is a bit stiff and has the least functionality. Lsp5's high frequency is not open enough, and the sound field is a bit smaller than these three, but the sound quality is quite good, it has the most functions, and the noise floor seems to be the smallest. I would probably choose the a10, which is average in all aspects(may be somewhat subjective, because the time of holding a10 and the other two is staggered). You can choose according to your preference. Thanks
@@yaotian7197 Funny how you did not mention the Sony ux570, which was clearly the inferior of the three on this video. I agree with your evaluation. This was an excellent test and I enjoyed it. It helped me avoid wasting money on the ux570. Thank you.
