great work - i have trouble using the kitbash kits in houdini - how do you maintain the UVs of the textures on the destroyed pieces? also, many of the buildilngs in the kitbash kits are multiple "pieces". for the destruction, do you combine them into a single piece? whenever i tried to do that, textures would be incorrect. would you be interested in sending me a pic of some of the houdini setup? i'd love any kind of overview you'd be willing to provide.
I completely remodeled them for destruction. you can't use the kitbash kit as they are for destruction, because its all one faced and intersecting geometry so don't even try
Hi there, I'm new to destruction and I want to start building my portfolio. I've been searching for models online, and I'm wondering: in Houdini, is it better to use procedural models, or are models from kitbash libraries sufficient for creating destruction effects?
No Kitbash models are not destruction ready buildings. you have to either prep it for destruction, which is what is did, or model your own building. also not all procedural buildings are destruction ready
@@vitfx2371 thanks for the response, so does destruction ready means clean geo? Or having different parts in a building like floor, wood, outside body of the building, glass
@@OhioNPC911 destruction ready means no intersection and closed geometry instead of flat planes. for example floors of a building have to be boxes instead of flat planes.
@@vitfx2371 hi, im so sorry, apparently my previous comment didn't go trough, I'm looking to do this exact same simulation for a project and would love to see if you are interested and discuss prices 🙏
Beautiful destruction! ❤
sometimes im shocked people dont take advantage of "historical" event in RBD lab.. :skull:
Did you use the RBD Material fracture node?

also RDB lab is a blender addon, you set the texture for broken faces in the addon
Which software did you use?
Houdini

@@vitfx2371 i see thank you for this all, so if i go for kitbash one i will have to work on geo and make it ready for destruction
Nice work. Which Kitbash pack is that?
Brooklyn
@@vitfx2371 Thanks
How many fractures was this?
I fractured all the components separately
CaseOh finally fell off his gaming chair…
Underated
Very well done
Looking forward to your response
