This is so triggering for me so much trauma kids went through in the crack era 😢 someone needs to do a special on the kids that survived that era and how it affected them mentally. I mean the short term and long term affects of seeing your parents on crack and suffering. God bless those who abused the drugs and the people who were affected from the parents, family and whole communities who suffered.

This drug destroyed my family and childhood. Crack caused my mother to give my brother and I away. I was raised on and off by my grandparents, saw things no child should see. Today im all thats left out of my mom,dad, and brother. I broke the cycle for my children, thats the only positive. I still have PTSD from this era
I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. You're right no child should have to see that or live through that. I know we don't know each other but I'm really proud of you for breaking that cycle for your children. I had to break the cycle of the drug world myself. I don't have kids yet but I won't allow them to go through what I went through growing up. Police raids, cops beating my dad in to a coma front of me while he was handcuffed laying on the ground. I promised myself I'd never allow my children to go through that and rather than go in to that horrible lifestyle I got in to a trade and it saved my life as well as the lives of my future children. I wish you and your family all the best in life.

My brother was shot unarmed at a traffic stop by the police, we buried him in 2019. My mother went to prison when I was a kid for Murder behind a Crack deal. My dad died in 2022 after a life on Crack. My kids don't know that life. I got married and together we built a solid home life before starting our family. I'm sorry for all you went through too. Sadly my grandfather was on crack living in Brooklyn New York as a kid his bedroom was normal to me with crack pipes until I became 12 and noticed it wasn’t normal, I was raised in the projects in pink houses east New York I’ve seen so many crackheads out there passing by on my way to school back in the early 1990s.. thankfully I have my kids which is grown and grandkids and live in the suburbs of Va beach… never again I want my kids or grandkids to see what I’ve witnessed it was like a plague back then

For most people asking about how crack was used in cigarettes and etc.. people would crumble up the crack and take some of the tobacco out and replace it with the crumbs of crack. Had friends do this and also lace weed with crack as well. They thought that this didn't make them all out addicts. But they all did become that later on.
Yeah I read that this is what happened to DMX. He said somehow sprinkled coke or crack in his joint and that's what lead him to his life of addiction.
