I found only one tutorial about this. Your tutorial saved me a lot of time. Thanks a lot! :)

I'm new to UE, but I'm loving all the amazing things it can do. This info you provide will help a lot.

This taught me a lot about the static switches, I didnt even know about those until this. Another suggestion for a video might be the ability to paint the imperfections / grass / ivy into locations using this new material we have created

My gosh, thank you so much for this thorough tutorial, I'm new to UE and was searching all day for how to blend colored materials that require opacity masks on top of other materials. Thought I had to use a separate material shader for the opacity one or what not. But it's just as easy as adding a lerp and plugging the mask into the alpha! I have much to learn. Thank you again!

Hi could you do a video on world aligned textures and packed grunge maps?

hello , thank you for this tutorial , very usefull !! i have a question about your mesh , how do you do to put a material on the tube without setting the glass or metal covering the glass ? and after , you set the material only to the covering glass.... is there some group on the mesh to set textures ? is it an imported mesh ? or from UE ? can you make an over tutorial for that ? thank you .

    Thanks for this
I'm wondering how we can apply this to MS materials

I realize this is an older tutorial but I'd really like to add it to my master material. The problem is I'm using an albedo texture and an orm map and can't quite figure out the nuances of adding your stuff in. Any chance you could add it to a master material like the one I described to use as a guide?

Hi! Thanx for the tutorials. How can I put the imperfection only close to the edges?

  • @symnx

If you make tiling smaller and smaller, you can see that some imperfections become square, i.e. the pattern is repeated again and again. Is it possible to change this so that it is distributed randomly, i.e. if I make it smaller and smaller, it is not noticeable that the same texture is always repeated?
This is all new to me and still very complicated, but I have already learned a lot.

My downloaded quixel megascans are not showing up in the search assets options in the imperfection material. Any solutions please?
    Using UE 5.3

Great info. Thanks a bunch... Is there a way to make the imperfections appear on edges?.... and how can this be collapsed to a function that can be integrated to Megascans master materials? Thanks

Hello ! Thank you very much for this tutorial. Very helpful. Is there any way to do the same but on glass surfaces like windows ?

Hey thank you for video but I want to ask something. Let's say I want to add imperfections to textures rather then basic colors how to do that with master material method. I can just do that in my materials like putting image there but it is more work you know..

Just swap the base color with a texture sample, like you did with the imperfections.

U have to drag directly the "scratched..." into the master material instead of put the "black placeholder"

    • @Yongstephishiba
      @Yongstephishiba ปีที่แล้ว

I experienced same problem but i solved now. There are two 'black placeholder' with same name. Change it and try it :--)
