I wonder iof that stiff Album the artists involved were who they were signed to in the States, Might have been a different label in the UK. I dunno for sure. I've discovered a lot of artists being on Trojan. They seemed to have signed quite a lot of bands during the 70's and 80's. Some Great singles too. Love that muppet record! I might see if i can find the Sesame Street Record I had as a kid online. Came with a book and everything. Love the Thunderbirds record and that Blakes 7 record is awesome. Never new that got released, Really good showcase Nick.

Nice bunch of 45s as usual Nick. I remember Blake's 7. BBC made it on the cheap but it was a lot of fun. I used to reply like the villain Servalan. That Stiff compilation is a bit odd. The Cure and Cockney Rejects were never on Stiff but they did have early singles on Small Wonder Records. Motorhead did have one single on Stiff called White Line Fever. But it looks like a decent compilation. Hope you're feeling better than you did last Thursday. Cheers Mike

Halfway up the stairs……that was cousin Robin! Kermit’s cousin. More crackly than a crackly thing…..classic comedy. The Cure’s connection with Stiff…..that’s an interesting one. I need to investigate. I love that US Stiff comp Nick, brilliant. I think I was just expecting more from the Blondie debut. Something a bit more raw and punky. But will get over myself. Some scorcher’s in there Nick. Mike
Hi Nick. I've never seen that Stiff comp. One of the first singles on Stiff was supposed to be by Motorhead, but it never got released at the time. It did eventually get included in a box set of Stiff's first 10 singles. I've no idea why 'No Class' was included on 'The Last Compilation'. Maybe Stiff had the rights to release it in the US? And maybe the same applies to acts like Dexys and the Cure? ... The first album by Blondie for a fiver is a steal ... 'The Ska's The Limit' has a median price of £41 on Discogs.

I'm sure Stiff released a comp sometime before that,with bands signed to their label and also bands that they liked and admired. Perhaps it was some sort of attempt to hopefully get said bands to jump ship and sign with them ??? I'd of thought though that an American label would have got the rights etc... to promote British bands over the pond ??? Who knows ???
