- Unfortunately our first day of our spotting otters mission was rather unsuccessful, but we weren't going to give up so we woke up bright and early to give it another go 🦦. And on day 2, we completed our mission and managed to spot a sea otter in the wild 🥰. Absolutely over the moon to have finally seen one on my tour around Scotland although it was very hard to get some good footage of the wee guy you can briefly see him diving underwater ❤️

We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet - but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together. Wow, what a nice friendly offer. Dean has friends all over the world. I wish Dean go rather to Sweden than Morocco, but it is up to him.....btw who else think that with the towel and scarf over his head, Dean looks like Dzingischan...:-))))
Would love to see them travel through Sweden in the summer, before Morocco. Much easier adjustment for Nala I think.
@@charlottekey8856 We hope so! Sweden is a very Cat friendly country with a lot of cat lovers, and a general good view on animals rights 😊 Summers here would be nice to have Dean and Nala in Sweden 😊👍🏼❤️
I remember hearing Dean mention that he and Nala might travel within the United States? I'm an American and have unfortunately lived my entire 59 years in the US, and I simply can't recall violent crime as rampant as it is now. There are many factors as to why this is true. Currently, we've wide open southern boarders that are causing danger for the American people thanks to a very lackadaisical and lousy current presidential administration. I wouldn't rest well knowing that Dean and sweet Nala were holidaying/working in the US. I can't think of one state that's even relatively decent, especially here in California (San Francisco Bay Area). 🥺 Mean and angry people live here in these parts.

Glad you finally spotted an otter! I used to see a lot of seals over in Hunstanton, but never an otter.
Hope you've dried out by now! Seals on Beatles and Vans can be a bugger. I'd suggest getting some silicon sealant, taking the seal off, filling the gap with sealant and putting it back on. Seems like overkill, but it can work. Good luck!

Congratulations on your otter sighting. I especially enjoyed seeing the deer stags. At my home here in the USA I often get to see deer in my backyard. But rarely do I see stags, or as we call them here bucks. Great to see them in your video. Thanks. Stay safe and dry.
Otters are wonderful, cunning creatures. I saw many in Alaska in Prince Williams Sound, before the Exxon Valdez disaster. They hold hands together and are just innocent creatures trying to live their best lives. Mama and Dean are lucky to have each other!

Well Dean & Nala you're certainly getting our great Scottish weather, pity about the leaking window. That was definitely an otter you saw so mission accomplished. Nala was very wise staying in the van.

Its so nice you have people who are fans of Nala she's A little TH-cam "star"🐈Sad about the rubbish stuck on that stage antlers hope it doesn't cause him problems. I watch the TH-cam channel OCN ocean conservation Namibia the videos are only minutes long but they catch and release. Seals from the ocean trash that gets dumped and its mostly fishing line that gets caught around the seals neck and if its not removed it cuts thru the skin. Congratulations, Dean and Nala! Your first otter, not a sea otter, a river otter, like we have all around our coastline here in British Columbia, Canada. Our sea otters today live only way up north - they need sea urchins to live on and those have been wiped out in the south by humans. Old story. If you're going to Morroco, drop by Canada, we're around the corner. Forget Sweden, eh? You and Nala will have a place to stay here in Vancouver.

Dean, I would really reconsider going through Scandinavia this winter. I live in Montana and it it not uncommon for us to have sub 20 temps with wind. I drive a Jeep and the heater in my Jeep can’t put out enough heat to keep me warm.
I thought he said he wasn't going to go until the spring.

In my almost 51 years I have only seen otters twice and I live in Maine in the United States They are here, but hard to spot! So glad you had success; they are a joy to watch!

You and Nala are most welcome to Sweden. May - July is usually the most pleasant time of the year to visit Sweden. If you want to bike where there are almost no hills, stay in the southernmost and south - east of Sweden, it is nice there. But I would say that the westcoast starting from Gothenburg and up north from there following the coast is more than beautiful. From Lysekil, a place on the west coast, you can set a straight course (almost) from there, go by boat, and you will end up south of Aberdeen😊 Many fishermen from the early 1920s until the 1940s fished cod in the North sea and landed the fish in Aberdeen so there is a connection between the Swedish west coast and Scotland.

Saw Many otters when travelling in Carmel and Monetary some years ago. Beautiful creatures particularly when lie on their backs, floating and cracking food open with stones .
Nala is world famous! Recognized everywhere she goes. I get a real kick out of seeing her look out the windows of the van, like she is a sight seer too! And that poor deer with the rope tangled around his antlers. Always sad to see wild animals having trouble with human trash.
When you get to San Francisco California walk out to the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge and look down. You will see many otters. They are very cute especially when they swim on their backs with mussels on their tummy. They use their tummy as their dinner plate.

And I can understand you because I've been watching outlander for so long and reading it that I now can understand you guys. It's one of my favorite accents.
