I'm pretty sure Siegfried in Soulcalibur and Siegfried in Granblue as well as pretty much every other Siegfried that has Slayed a dragon is a modern take on the Germanic legend of Siegfried in the "Niebelungensage". Thats why the similarities are not by accident because they were designed after the same Legend

@@Gleapgoogleplusisgone yeah that was my point. I was one of them but Mythology (Greek, Nordic, Egyptian, Japanese, Chinese, etc) always interested me. The Niebelungensage is not as famous as other Legends and i think in Germany, only older People know about it.

The Archetype you're looking for Max is Black Swordsman/Dark Knight. Zack/Cloud would also qualify.

Siegfried’s Archetype is either Dark Knight or Berserker given he wields a large two handed sword and has a brooding kind of personality

You guys DO know he's based on german legend, right? Hence the similarities with Soul Calibur and Berserk-same basis (although guts mixed in a bit of götz von berlichingen as well)
I mean, archetypal berserkers based on the norse warriors of the same name is usually light to no armor.
And Siegfried is hardly the angry type so I'd say no to him bring a berserker
The Sigurd or Siegfried roles always seem like simple characters that have commital options and the personality is usually calm and collected. Not really the hero or berserker type but more a Champion or Leader type character in my opinion.
Siegfried's Archetype is jobber. He has a chance to lose only because he's player 1.
Im in love with GBVSR right now, its soo good to pick up a character and press buttons and be able to figure it out as you go (with a few exceptions).
Dont forget, Max also likes Ike in Smash. The big, heavy two handed sword swinging "knight"
If Tekken 8's story ends up not being difficult enough for a Boss Rage episode try Lucilius from Gran Blue Fantasy Versus Rising. To get to him you need to win six rounds with a super and not lose a round in the arcade run and if you lose to him once you have to start the arcade ladder over again. I had a hard time with him only on the Hard difficulty and I am no where near brave enough to try the Nightmare difficulty. So if you want a challenging fighting game boss I think Lucilius will be up for it.

@yuriislife2381 I am pretty sure that is what Fighting game players have been used to doing for Arcade extra bosses for years, so I am sure they are uses to it.
in the main game he was one of the hardest boss in game, few years later now he's just a punching bag. Its good to see him back at the top again

I beat him on Nightmare with Gran... *I love roundstart SBA* also the only character you can lose against is Avatar Belial, and I mean you can completely lose to him and still be able to fight Lucilius
I've never played or watched any Granblue vs but seeing Beelzebub makes me want to buy the game just to play as him. Love the moveset, style, colors, everything. Every character is so very well put together that the game looks great.

the way each player's character is actually voiced in the language they chose is legit one of my favorite features of the game. it's just a really cool small detail

Dear comments, Siegfried vom Granblue&Soul Calibur are based on the same german legend, Guts from Berserk is a mix from that legend+the historial figure Götz von Berlichingen. Hence the similarities, same base.
It's kind of like seeing King Arthur in several media and asking if that's some kind of knight archetype. Dude, he's been his own thing for over a thousand years now.

I'm getting Relink as my chill game to fall back on when Tekken 8 is getting rough. Relink looks right up my alley action RPGs are a blast the YS series is also a diamond (8 and 9 in particular).

You know what's really frustrating is when you have the money to buy a game but you can't get it because there's a limit on your freaking card....smh kinda wish I saved the MK1 money & get this instead because this game has everything but I'll hopefully buy it in January
If it makes you feel better there is a free version with limited characters rotating every week you can try right now even has the story and online

Bro I had this exact discussion with a friend. I did not end up liking mk1 at all but I can’t refund it. I got lucky that I was able to get the game but I wish I had that money back so i could have gotten the deluxe of this instead.

Seeing max playing and learning Granblue Fantasy Vs Rising, makes me realize that even the high level players always have something to learn when playing a fighting game for the first time which makes me more excited to keep playing this game
would say his Archetype fits the most with a Beserker or (using FF refrencing) a Dark Knight. given hes more about brute strength and how he uses HP as a resource to power up attacks (even having an install super that uses 50% of current HP to have the install for the rest of the round).
I'd go with the "Guts" archetype. He's not the first, but definitely the most prolific.
Here's hoping that Max plays it again with the mod that changes the flashback image in Siegfried's Super Skybound Art, so that it shows the Doods or Benny in the image instead.

Siegfried Soul still Burns, now we fight by the book. All seriousness this is my favorite looking arcs game it's so good it makes me want to Fire Emblem or Zelda fighting game

Hmm, I wonder if it's a guy with flowing blond hair and a big sword, probably a scarf, and possibly a bright red accent color somewhere... Nah, couldn't be.
I just wish:
A) I could try all the characters in trial.
B) It wasn't so expensive for something that I haven't found "my character" yet.
Some of these characters really look cool, but until you have them in your hands you have a limited ideal as to how they actually play. Wish I had the money to make such a purchase to test, but I don't. It's really unfortunate. Just hope the game sticks around until I manage to find the character that I like to play.
The thing I hate about arcsys games is they make me want to play nearly every character. I just stick to 1 or two characters in games typically.

My man forgot to mention ARTHAS for this archetype.
There's even a sword skin named Balmung and he is an actual dragon slayer. They may have based the look and general playstyle on Namco's Siegfried but they're a bit closer to the actual legend here, who wouldn't be in need of armor though, at least for most of his body...
I like that this guy is so polite and eloquent, like I would imagine a knight should be.
The one who doesn't act like knight is actually from his neighboring kingdom lmao. His name is Gawain from Dalmore, and he is strong as fuck, literally one man army. But because he was so bad tempered he was banished until recently his kingdom accept him back.

The strongest influence for that character archetype that I think of is Guts from Berserk.

Cagliostro's crouch is funny, she just sits there staring at the players/viewers. Arcsys is something else with these micro details they implement into their character sprites.

Awesome video… I played this game and enjoy trying out some of the fighters. Also enjoy the anime intro that Arc System Works does. Just gained a sub 🤜🏾🤛🏾

Since most greatsword users in fighting games swap between one- and two-hand wielding, why not call the archetype "Bastards", after the traditional hand-and-a-half bastard sword?
Max's viewers sure do love empty jumping into him. They get blown up the first time, but keep jumping towards him lol.

Just know that if you want to consistently get people closer to your level you are gonna want to hang out in ranked. If you can take the ego hit of not having a high rank the game will keep giving you people around where you are and matches should be closer. Player and lobby matches may be low stakes but they also have basically no matchmaking other then connection so you can sometimes get killers when you just got here
@@SH1NK1R01 I’m not upset. I’m sf6 I got to platinum 5? I think Idk nothing crazy but good brought to be not terrible. I think my guild is Diamond idk. MK ranked is easy to rank up. I’ve did the ass beating and been perfected. I haven’t played ranked yet on here just been casuals and the lobby. I’m learning the game and having fun But this game so far I’ve gott the most messages after and friend requests. It’s beautiful lmao

Well it is an anime game. There are very few exceptions but also jp dub is default and there is no real reason to change it personally. He ofc plays DBFZ in english because I'm sure most of his group grew up with english Goku

@@theProClaimer definitely not always but most certainly when the IP has had the same character voices for years and only recently ever gotten an alternative dub. A lot of the voices match the character they are portraying and are refined to do such over the entire franchise's history.

This game is absurd. On online matches I'm just a dummy. I can't do anything. Can't dodge, can't block, can't attack. Everyone just mops the floor with me.
I just let them kill me by not moving at all and give them free exp or something.

Yes, it always irks me as well in those videos but I know there is a shit ton of new players and she is one of the hardest characters to use. I myself played alot of narmayas online and I can count only a few that were really good. Hell even I when started playing her had a magnitude of losses on my belt which was kind of frustrating.
