  • Can you use eyeshadow instead of spending so much money on hair fibers? What's the difference? How do they look different? How do they wear overnight? As a hair loss sufferer, I put these both to the test!

    Concealer spray (L'Oreal) is great spray it into a container of some sort then pick it up with a makeup brush I use to dab into the areas I need to cover using this method gives me better control rather then just spraying direct to my head it also helps cover the greys

    I use inexpensive brow powder with a very dense brush I actually got at Michael's in the art supplies area. It's flat topped, but small and makes a big difference for filling in temples, and I do also use it to cover gray roots. I use the Wet n Wild dark brown brow kit.

    I use eyeshadow but I apply with dense makeup brush. It blends REALLY well

      Same. Dense and tightly packed bristles: Fibers got all over the place for me.

    I noticed they're recently carrying Toppik at CVS, and they also have those 40% off coupons! Definitely where I'll be getting mine from, if I decide to purchase! Great video! 🤩

    hello. I've used toppik. I've used eyeshadow and it works very well. I have a new problem though. My husband is allergic to fragrance, so I am having to shop for an eyeshadow with no fragrance. But believe ladies, eyeshadow works great!

    First and foremost great video. New subscriber here!! Well let me tell you, I bought toppik before and it is a bit on the expensive side. My hair is short and very course, and i had a stubborn bald spot. It was bad. What worked for me was the matte eyeshadow with a little tip of gel and a little bit of mascara on my edges.

    Hey, Helen I found the perfect cover up that beat both of these hands down. Now the Topix I think I'm allergic to and used it for awhile before I stopped. Good coverage but I'm not sure what all in it; but I would have terrible neck pain (lymph nodes). Now that powder I used but it had a tendency to turn a grayish color. But my new find is Boost N Blend it suppose to be made of cotton fibers. This stuff is great; I learn another trick put a little style gel on the areas first the shake the container in those areas. It tightens hold.

      Boost and Blend itches me something terrible. I never would’ve thought it since they’re cotton but my scalp can’t tolerate them. Toppik itches me too but not as much as Boost and Blend. I try new brands all the time. I’ve had good luck with a couple.

    What happens to the hair fibers if it rains and your hair gets wet?!

    So I just noticed you have cotton pillowcases. A tip is to use satin or silk cases as there’s less friction to your hair and thus less breakage. It’s also supposed to be good for your skin too re wrinkles 🙂

    • @HelenAvery
      @HelenAvery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s true they are cotton! I can’t do silk/satin though...it’s a slippery sensory thing 😂

      @moominmay 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@HelenAvery lol I totally get that and in my heart I desire cotton 😅. However until I get your sort of hair quality ima keep it slippery!

  • @AMuslimMiss

    so when it comes to the health of your scalp, which one would you recommend is safer to use regularly? That won't clog the hair follicles.

    • @HelenAvery
      @HelenAvery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I’ve used both long term and they were fine but I will give the edge to Toppik. It kind of sits among the hairs more than clings to the scalp. Hope that helps!

    • @dualscreengrant
      @dualscreengrant 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It seems like people keep bringing up hair loss being exacerbated by the use of hair fibers. I don't know whether this is true. I suspect that it's not true because androgenetic alopecia is caused by DHT, not clogged follicles. There are scam products that claim to unclog hair follicles and cure hair loss, which is false because that's not the cause of hair loss.

    Honestly the eyeshadow looks better. If you had an eyeshadow palette u could have matched it better as well if you had a dense brush to apply it. Toppik to me didn't really look that much better for the money

      I made a NIOXIN review...generally shampoo doesn’t do much or else no one would have hair loss 😉 I have a video How to get over your fear of Rogaine. Check it out 😊
