My hair loss is on top (like male pattern baldness). I've used Toppik and it works on top but I still have hair on top do it grabs it and covers well. I switch to a hair concealer powder which came in a compact purchased through HSN but for some reason the quit selling it (about $35 to $40). Just recently found out about the eyeshadow from a friend online for $1.25 from Dollar Tree. Works 100% and much cheaper. Good luck ladies...we do what we have to do to feel good!!!!
i found your video because i got an alopecia spot behind my ear. i was thinking of getting that topiks stuff, but now i think i'll try eye shadow. also i just wanted to say i was distracted by how absolutely beautiful you are 😍😍😍😍
I have LPP/FFA and feel like I’ve tried everything. I absolutely started busting out laughing at your reaction to the root spray. Got to find humor in a sucky situation. 😅
So grateful I found your videos on FFA. I was feeling quite alone and lost. Now a little less. Thank you :) Also thank you for testing these products that I had been looking at.
could you please make a video on how to do your eyebrows? It would be so helpful for some of us who are a bit clumsy with make up. I'm really glad that I found your videos. FFA is so scary, it's really good to see how you deal with it
Thank you for making these. It’s great to know we’re not alone. My hair loss pattern is pretty much exactly the same as yours although not as advanced. My Derm told me it was telogen effluvium (sp?)…that was about year ago and I’m still slowly losing more and more. My husband says it’s not too noticeable to an outsider but it is getting worse. Sometimes I feel okay about it and other times it has me feeling really sad. During the really tough moments, I’ve even contemplated just shaving it all off 🙈 I’m sure I’d regret it though. Anyways, thanks for sharing ❤️
I think you were misdiagnosed. Telogen effluvium is a very temporary form of hair loss that is more diffuse in nature and typically caused by some type of stress to the body. If your hair has not grown back within 3-6 months and is getting worse, I would get a second opinion before it's too late. If you have a scarring form of hair loss, such as frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA), you can't regrow hair in the scarred hair follicles. I have/had both types. FFA needs prompt treatment. When I've lost hair due to heavy steroid use post-surgery (it's a side-effect of the drug), I lose a lot of hair about 3 months later and then it starts growing back in another 3 months and stays put. It is also diffuse (all over my head) and much less noticeable than the FFA I was just diagnosed with that is like a band of thinning or absent hair around my face. I have already started treatment to try and stop the FFA from spreading. Good luck to you.
I feel sad alot. Ive tried just about everything. Wigs are terrible. The only options ive seen are seen from black women. They do these things that my god You would NEVER KNOW. They can work miracles
The hair fibers are good when you’ve got thinning not like a lot of loss like she does. It needs hair to stick to. After you put the hair fibers on pat it down a bit and then spray it with hairspray. It works if you get the right color, but it’s not for mostly balding, it’s good for a little bit of thinness it does make your hair look thicker
Spray the root touch up on a toothbrush or something similar to control the application to the scalp, do not spray directly on the scalp.. Messy!! CONTROL is the key.. It works for me.. Love the video.. ♥️
Thank you so much for sharing your struggle. I have FFA also and it sucks. I have a wig, but it is hot and uncomfortable. I hope you make more videos so that the beauty companies know that this is a real struggle that need a solution
I have mid-thinning female pattern balding and use whiteToppik. It works o.k. Not fantastic if you have bigger sections without hair, but it helps to camouflage somewhar.
I use Everpro Gray Away root touch -up magnetic powder. Comes in a little jar of pressed powder and has a little round sponge applicator that screws onto the bottom of the jar when not in use. I use black/dark brown on my dark brown hair. I've used this for several years. Easy to use. Covers well. Not messy. Stays on well until you wash it out.
I have lichen planopilaris which is related to FFA. I believe that stress makes it worse and I noticed I had less fallout when on an antidepressant. I do think since they believe this is autoimmune related that there is so much we don’t know. Thanks for the video ❤
Stephanie, thank you so much for your closeness and honesty sharing this disheartening problem. I know a worth trying product called palette by Schwarzkopf. I think it aims to cover grey roots and it applies with a sponge. I buy it in Europe, don't know whether it's available on the US. Let's stay in touch, at least we're in this together xx
I use a spray and the best way to use it is keeping away 3-4inch and then spray not so close then you get bunch of patchy spots and also u should keep 1 eye open so u can see where ur spraying
Eye shadow works very well, just use stout hairspray or makeup setting spray. I spray hairspray/setting spray on a makeup sponge and dab on area after shadow. Caveat about any type of fibers like toppix. There is some initial fallout so do not put contact lenses in until the fibers have been sprayed and set. Rinse eyes, lashes well before putting lenses in.
I have had Alopecia since age 13. I am now 70. Since menopause I have had no hair loss patches. Still have thininning as aging continues, but not bad. My journey has been scalp drug injections and electricity stimulation, not much changed. I used eye brow pencils to make my own paint for covering patches and thin areas. Now, with sprays, I am sure it makes it easier. I suggest talking to your doctor about hormone and thyroid levels. It seems since memopause my hair loss stopped since the hormones in my body changed. Maybe there is some science to this. God bless and stay strong.
Stephanie, you are so Brave! Watching your experiments, I could clearly see myself doing the same, and failing like no tomorrow. I found some other methods, if you would like, I can send you some links in a private message. However, I think that the eye shadow, with much more pigmented and with a much dense brush would work better. Also, I saw a girl who created her sides in a pretty lovely way as well. It was interesting to watch, but I haven't tried that yet. Well, I have the same problem as yours and it bothers me I am not gonna lie .. so I am always on the hunt for something new and hopefully looking better :) Thank you very much for your video, it saved me so much struggle and disappointment.♥
I bleached my hair and dyed my hair. After I used conditioner it snap my hair. Now I have bold spot.👀 I didn’t know u should not rub conditioners near ur head skin.
Maybe combine shadow with fibers, or spray with fibers. Spray test on a Kleenex to learn how close to spray and test color.. . The spray works ..but you need to practice.
I have hairloss on the top of my head where my hair is much denser than the rest of my head and my scalp is very visible. The eyeshadow is working the best for me too. The hair fibers are messy and as the day goes on my face has all these small fibers on as they fall of my head. The spray is definitely not working and looks unnatural.
I have traction alopecia in the front and sides from super tight weaves and now I just use lace frontals..my hairline upsets me so I just shaved it all off and wear wigs with tape or lace glue.
I've tried the spray and the fibers and neither worked. They eyeshadow method was easier but it's hard to get correct color where it doesn't stand out.
I've been using the root spray for a while. One thing I do, is I fold up a tissue and place it near my hairline. I use my fingers to hold nit, but folding to where I can still see what I'm doing. You can't go so close or it does look like you soray painted your head. I'm very frustrated myself, cause I have hairless all in front of my hairline around my face. I also think the spray clogs the hair follicle pores, and makes the hairless worse.
Thank you for posting this. I have it too. Have they been able to stop your hair loss? If so, can you tell me the regimen that they put you on? I’m currently on three different medications and the FFA has not stopped.
I am taking doxycycline twice a day and apply clobetasol steroid solution also twice a day on the problem area and 1 inch into the scalp hairline. Dermatologist prescribed. Praying it is the right thing to stop the loss.
Because your hair is not a cool-toned, jet-black, the eye shadow, root spray and fibers looked the wrong tone, and too dark. Try a dark brown instead! Also, when you were spraying far away, you weren't pointing it in the right area. That's why it wasn't showing any result at that point, then when you moved closer it was far too concentrated. As a final note, keratin fibers need something to "cling to" in order to work, so won't be an option for people with completely bald areas.
that spray is a complete fail. Even if you could make it work I would hate to breathe in all of those fumes. great video, thanks for trying these items.
Please consult your hair doctor before using any hair covering product. When you have FFA you cause more problems. I use a special shampoo that my doctor recommended since it does not clog my pores. Be very careful ladies.
When using root touch up, spray it into a dish or the cap, then use a brush to put it on. :)

What about the rain?

That is a great video idea, thanks! I will definitely do that. I hope you are doing well with your FFA. Keep in good spirits!

You're welcome! I have ups and downs too. I hope you are able to find a way to slow your hair loss. Don't give up!

Your eyebrows look great
Omg thanks! Gonna try eye shadows. 😆

Lol bless your heart you are a real trooper and such a sweetheart. I've use that stuff and it's a mess

I am currently using dry shampoo Batiste brown and it's doing the job but still needs to be applied with light hands, hope that could help!
Joan Rivers Great Hair Day is awesome everybody! It doesn't run. It's powder with a brush. Waterproof but come out with shampoo I highly recommend.
Have you tried hair patchs
I think uni wigs make them especially for the sideburn area
Theyd work great on your loss
I use a spray and the best way to use it is keeping away 3-4inch and then spray not so close then you get bunch of patchy spots and also u should keep 1 eye open so u can see where ur spraying
Eyeshadow if u mix the brown with the black it shud be perfecto👌🏽
That look very nice ❤❤

Try Dermmatch. I had similar hairloss and it works better than those

I can't use fibers of any kind. Any suggestions for me!? My hair is like yours.
Great video thanks. Can you mix the dark brown and black eyeshadow to get nearer to your natural hair colour?
Try spraying on a tissue and patting it onto the area you want to cover while ita wet
I use a spray applicator that allows you to put it where you want not having it. Don’t pat.
Stephanie, you are so Brave!

Have you tried using wigs and scarfs to cover the bald area?
You should try out patches (either from hair contact hair patches or uniwigs) as well as the cakes (DermMatch) and let us know how those work!
IDK..she was soo cute when smiling......😊😍
Mix the black and brown
Maybe combine shadow with fibers, or spray with fibers. Spray test on a Kleenex to learn how close to spray and test color.. . The spray works ..but you need to practice.
Have You tried those patches. Its great but the cost is insane
u still using eye shadow? let us know if u find a best way
yeah, it is still the least messy
Joan Rivers Great Hair Day powder. Awesome and doesn't run. Try it!!!

I use eye powder on my eye brows to it’s good
Have you ever tried hair patches? I wanted to because they seem to work well but they usually only come in dark hair colors and I'm a medium blonde.
I've tried the spray and the fibers and neither worked. They eyeshadow method was easier but it's hard to get correct color where it doesn't stand out.

You should get a lighter color for the root touch up spray, also look where you're spraying
Has your hair loss stopped? I’ve read that frontal alopecia can eventually stop ?
Yes mine stopped a few years ago. After my treatments, I now take medication and try to not be stressed and that seems to be working.
@@stephanies_story What is the name of the medication?
@@stephanies_story what treatments worked for you ?
Have you tried CBD oil or rice brain oil?
Thank you for posting this. I have it too. Have they been able to stop your hair loss? If so, can you tell me the regimen that they put you on? I’m currently on three different medications and the FFA has not stopped.
I am taking doxycycline twice a day and apply clobetasol steroid solution also twice a day on the problem area and 1 inch into the scalp hairline. Dermatologist prescribed. Praying it is the right thing to stop the loss.
First of all put on some gloves and toppix doesn't work on a wet scalp. It will get better. We are in the same boat. GOD Bless you.❤❤❤

06:13 🤣🤣🤣 oh my godness
She was way too close and too much spray.
So this is me now. Ugh its so depressing. That an on top of that my belly is gross an my legs have veins. Haha its like one thing after another
that spray is a complete fail. Even if you could make it work I would hate to breathe in all of those fumes. great video, thanks for trying these items.

Just get a topper, that other stuff is grosss😮
I think you needed help with this one
U look like winnona rider
Thank you 🎉❤
