- "On the Beat" was The Brooklyn Bronx & Queens Band most succesful hit, it charted both in the USA and UK. The B.B. & Q. Band were created in 1981 by Jacques Fred Petrus, working togheter with Mauro Malavasi. The duo launched some influential bands of the era such as Change and The Peter Jacques Band.
"On the Beat" è stato il singolo più famoso della "Brooklyn Bronx & Queens Band", è entrato in classifica sia negli USA che nekl Regno Unito. La B.B. & Q. Band è stata creata nel 1981 da Jacques Fred Petrus assieme a Mauro Malavasi, due impresari famosi per aver lanciato altre importanti band dell'epoca come Change e la Peter Jacques Band.

I'm 28, i was no able to enjoy the 80s but i assume that they were great, we have excellent music from that decade 👌
I was 19 back then and I was so glad I was part of the scene back then the music had a magical atmosphere and this track became a massive influence on me..such a great up lifting choon that makes me wish there was a massive out door party with this playing and people interacting with each other like they've known each other for year's. Just dancing and laughing..what a dream..

not reminiscent. These are the exact same Change/Peter Jacques Band/Revanche musicians just playing using different names. And it's not live either, they're singing to recorded tracks.

I happened upon this song.... and 'MY OH MY'...what a wonderful, beautiful, and soul emotional soothing song. The music has a S.O.S. Band feel to it. Listening to it is so enriching....the 80's era rule! Immersed in the sounds, I can't help but point-up the fact that Houston radio personalities and club D J's, for so long, have had / still have their 'heads in the sand' as the proverbial saying goes when it comes to showcasing / playing quality music from around the country. The aforementioned are stuck...and still stuck to this day with playing the same old tunes- over and over again! That said I betcha a whole block or two of Rap "Urban Thug Noise / Pole and Pose Dance Music" or a half a dozen kitchens or more of Zydeco "Pot and Pan Music" that this song has never been played in the Houston area- on air or in the clubs…lol.

I understand why some people dislike this one. First the mismatch stand-in that Rick Brennan (the main vocal who actually came from Change Band but it wasn't problem because Change and BB&Q Band came from same label and producer) brought along (Bald guy, A Girl and mimed bassist) along with Rick over-singing in some point and looking stoned-face make the performance was very hilarious. But when listened to this song in Original Version, I think Rick added some energy in this live very well. And to say he looks stoned. I must admit he looks like this even in his 80's era so I don't think it's a problem.
