the ds looks and feels 10 times more premium car than the jacked up Leon

DS4 is seriously premium and looks absolutely stunning... The Cupra is not clearly not on same level. I find the verdict grotesque.

One of the best car reviews I've seen in a longtime.

I like more the cupra because it is more focused on driving experience and looks quite nice. But the problem of this one is the 310 version ... that is amazing and you can get with ABT tuning as a extra ... a family car that is so amazing to drive ... and to look at and that interior lights and details ...
The citroen is nice too but ... 310 ... Please VW group, don´t mess with the 5 cil and lets the formentor produce unlimited The VZ5 is amazing. This car can handle 400hp, some have done and it is quite nice to drive. A cheap 400hp car from Cupra as standar? A super car power at SEAT prices

What kind of a "guru" mistakes real carbon for "sort of slight cheap bit of furniture" ?! Are you kidding...

Lack of electric seat adjustments is probably due to the dearth of parts in that area. One of the hardest hit extra in the vehicle space was (is) in fact electrically adjusted seats. Not sure but I think that Ukraine was a major supplier for these parts.

not really, most are shipped from china or made outside of ukraine.

According to the media everything comes from the Ukraine. Can't understand why it wasn't known as the most powerful country in the world as it seems to have so much control of world economics.

This was the meanest, nastiest, most incompetent review I've seen in years. Woman, next time you sit down preliminary, take the necessity to do some pre-preparation, get familiar with the specs and options of the cars before you talk nonsense and expose yourself. I'm done here.

I do like your back-to-back comparison reviews, Vicky - always very interesting and relevant. Thank you 🙂
It just absolutely baffles me about the prices for PHEVs...!
People often rant about how expensive pure electric cars are and that they're not cheap enough for the masses...
But, to spend over £40k on either of these models seems bonkers, when there are plenty of pure electric cars out there with some serious range available for similar / less money - a prime example being the handsomely designed Kia Niro EV at sub£40k with 280 miles on a charge which is at least 4-5 hours' worth of driving potential.

I think Vicki is being kind to the Cupra infotainment system. I had the use of a Formentor over a three day hire and the infotainment system is frankly dangerous to use on the move. Trying to prod it to access menus whilst driving was such a huge distraction, and the heating adjustment controls don’t illuminate at night! I ended up having to rest my hand on the top of the screen and use my thumb to get stuff to work, and where were my eyes whilst I was doing this? not on the road ahead! As for the DS. Look past the shiny bits and it basically a ‘fancy’ ish Vauxhall Astra / Peugeot 3008.

I wasn't aware of the "performance plus" trim for the DS. looks more like the performance line, which tends to be the lower trim. Going to the higher trims, does automatically get you heated seats plus massage settings. Your review would suggest you cannot get these at all. Basic error in my opinion which some simple research would uncover.

Formentor might drive better through the corners, but for that kind of money and next to DS 4, I wouldn't give it a second look! first... if you want something that "eats the corners", you don't buy yourself an SUV! and second.... if you should "shell out" similar amount of money with intention to to buy premium luxury, then by that merit, DS 4 can send Formentor "to buy him cigarettes!! ok....Cuban cigars, since we want to be "posh"😋"

the 201 bhp 1.4 plug in tends to suffer from power when the battery is empty. It really has to rev to join a motorway. Does yr 245 hav better power when no battery, especially if you have a long hill as those in Devon. cheers

Driven 5000 miles in my Formentor now. Only 38mpg. Style over substance. The worst of both worlds. Useless battery range, useless petrol range. If false plastic moulded exhausts impress you, you deserve this.
