This is hands down THE most entertaining war fly video ever! I have dogs, not horses but the flies this year are insane. I'm getting a fly gun and doing some night hunting.
Thank you for the video thought I'd share a few more weapons against the enemy. Misting system flys don't like them much. An inexpensive DIY one is fine . Fans one with an enclosed motor not a box type but a basket type, flys can't fly in wind. Food grade DE. diatamacious earth non toxic I sprinkle it on any manure remains after mucking or place some on wet spots after I cover them or toss on a manure pile before mucking.. Making Noseeum fabric fly sheets, hoods and fly boots since some bugs can bite right through mesh fabric that many of these items are made of. Haven't tried this one yet but supposedly vinegar and a few drops of dish soap left out in a container kills flys when they try to land to lay larvae. SWAT by farnam applied around bites and wounds keeps flys at bay. each other. Dryer sheet straps tied in mane and tale keeps mosquitos at bay. Also keeping a pair of horses together so they swish tails to combat flys for eachother. I see you are into sewing machines ill be watching those videos next as I have a few. Hope these weapons help someone out there. Stay safe
War against flies is a constant battle as you said, really appreciate the detailed approach you have taken in your battle. We had to go to fly sheets which helped protect the horses as well.
yea, ive seen it mostly in fruitfly type flies and houseplants, but when a new crop of flies are born, you can go around squishing them with your thumb if you want.. next time you try it, you have to be a little quicker, and squish them with your finger.. next time you try it, youll notice that the flies are running from you, and giving you the evil eye.. try it a fourth time, and some will be flying off as soon as they see you, or hiding.. others will fly in your face and then quickly break left.. sometimes youll see the occasional groveling fly crawling around crying and begging.. just step on it

Sugar water or coke put in a 2litter bottle cut in half, with the upper half turned down into bottom half. But it catches bees too
One more thing you can hang black string from the ceiling and they will Roost on the string purple Pine-Sol with cedar oil just on the horse

I use 409 spray on flys, It works.
I used actual pine oil cleaner (pine-sol no longer has real pine oil, and had an 80 percent reduction in flies. It lasted 3 days.
u can put avon original skin so soft on ur baby 2!
