As I am a complete newbie to fish keeping hobby so was just wondering how to treat for intestinal parasites etc. for small tropical freshwater fish which are around only 2cm- 4cm being the largest size in my 18.5-20 US Gallon fish tank or 70 litre which I have.
As I had my firsh tank/ aquarium set up for over 1 year or around 1.5 years doing fishless cycling method and having growing out some live plants using Fritz Zyme 7 live nitrifying bacteria and for natural ammonia using Fritz zyme fishless fuel. According to my local pet store/ fish store they said my fish tank water was very well cycled and very good consistent water parameters except that my water PH being slightly high at 7.6 and also quite high water hardness but other than that completely good.
I have quite a lot of live beginner aquarium plants covering nearly my whole aquarium and the fish I have are 5 small red cherry barbs, 2 bright and wonderful Yellow Honey Gourami and 2 beautiful black/ greyish colour Dwarf Suckermouth Catfish/ Otto which are very much like plecos (Latin name: Otocinclus. sp.) As they only tend to stick to the sides of my glass fish tank or on top of ornaments or my live plants.
As for regarding health generally majority of the fish look very nice, vibrant colour and swimming around well however one of the red Cherry barb is looking quite sluggish or at least down at the bottom of the fish tank by himself and not eating much mostly unlike the other community fish or possibly something red sticking out of it's underside belly lile bloat possibly??? I have also one of catfish I noticed strangely just started yesterday white stringy poop coming out as it was swimming around which if correct according to my research/ knowledge is obvious sign of intestinal parasites etc. Other than that all my other fish such as my 2 Yellow Honey Gourami are completely fine and seem to be very healthy and doing very well, looking fine and eating well etc.
Any useful information/ tips and advice would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. As obviously unlike in this wonderful TH-cam video I obviously can't treat fish individually by taking them out of the fish tank and lying them flat on a towel etc. as my fish are way too small. Also unfortunately as I don't have enough money I only have 1 fish tank so no other separate fish tank to use as a hospital tank to treat the fish that maybe looking sick in my opinion individually.
As recommended by Kaveman Aquatics TH-cam channel I have been using since I bought my fish (not bought all at once obviously) using Seachem stability and Seachem Prime and Seachem Flouish Advance for my live plants.
      Thank you,
      Kind regards,
      Tom from UK.

Common with especially wild caught puffers... our big P*tco store sells sick puffers with no meds. hope it changes soon. They apparently don't even carry internal parasite meds, when I asked. (Hawaii)
They carry a gazillion water conditioners. (yeah, great).
I may post a vid... What to buy Before you get fish...
-thank God for the Co-op... but, was still too late for 2 out of 3 fish.

Thank you so much for this helpful information Cory. I lost one the most beautiful blue huge angelfish that was so loved, and just now I lost a kuhli loach. I was just feeding them, and saw another kuhli loach pop out for a piece of food, and it's SOLID WHITE! Your video helped me realize it's parasites. I just saw the weird poop on a rainbow fish. Immediately ordered the meds. I haven't added new fish in about a year! What on earth could have brought these parasites?! Can frozen food do that? I'm at a loss.

      @bubblerings 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@lookwithinandsee sadly, sounds like the food is 'Dirty'... infested with worms...
-Only way to tell without a microscope is:
      Treat your tank...
Keep track of what foods / brands are fed... See when parasites show up.
-By the way... can try to go back and see what are the newest frozen foods (and brand) that you bought.
Chances are, that a recent batch was contaminated.
Now, if your problem is something else, like a problem in the tank... Maybe conditions have changed and brought on illnesses like Ich or Fungus (white loach). A dead fish hiding under aquascape or in the filter can cause trouble.
Anyone experienced would tell you to test your water... Ammonia, Nitrites (both quite toxic)... Nitrates can be toxic, but not as likely, if doing water changes.
*could be anything to stress fish... did anyone spray for bugs by the tank or air pump? Chemicals make fish sensitive to everything. Hope you can do your detective work and find answers...
I got my first notebook after all these years... Keeping notes Helps to diagnose problems.

The aquarium co-op instructions say to add the packet of meds on day 1.... Then wait for 7 days do water change.... Then rest period... And repeat with 2nd round. If I was treating murphy, id follow the directions, when treating quarantine fish we something different entirely based on our water change system.

    Good afternoon
I hope everything doing well and thank you for the vídeo… I have a question, I’ve treated 2 of my fish in my hospital tank because their pooped turned out to be white because of parasites. I already finish the treatment but One of my fish still doesn’t want to eat and is very skinny but still alive. Today I did the 25% water change. Do I need to wait 2 weeks to do the treatment again or i can do it now ???… and also in my regular tank I still have one clownfish and one angel but today the ángel doesn’t want to eat can i do the treatment on my regular tank and the shrimps and snail going to be ok ?

So I had some fish in quarantine One was a guppy who delivered fry and then died. I separated the fry into their own tank and now that the quarantine is over I cleaned the tank and am now using the 10 gallon tank for the guppy fry. They are about a month old. Should I treat the tank with para cleanse since the mother had worms? It did look like one of the fry had white stringy poop. I didn't know whether they were too young to medicate? Also, when I am done medicating them is it okay for them to stay in that tank since there will still be medicine / worms possibly in the water?
