I really needed this speech, I feel you on the part where you talk about having to improve your life around you and not only focus on producing to make you happy.
I love the producers i inspired to be like and create my own sounds, music or beat shouting each other out with camaraderie it’s dope and heart warming. I hit rock bottom and I’m putting all my effort into find a new job and supporting my music journey I was stressed about finding a new job and things in my life that solely made me feel like if I didn’t have that one thing that gave me gratification I felt like shit. It’s never been producing. I feel like producing has helped me channel all my unhealthy thoughts into a positive thing. I’ve been looking for the missing links like putting my soul into my beats. I’ve always looked at beat making as an adopted child verses my own. Like yeah I get check from it but do I love it like my own child that came from me. I know that’s like a messed up way to think about it and you can love an adopted child as your own but I was lacking that connection to me. Once I was able to connect it open my eyes up to music I enjoy that I’m slowly finding my sound. I just need more fundamentals and practice with effects. Boom I’m there I can feel it on the tip of my tongue. Thanks for your insight it help me do a mental evaluation to see if music gave me those same vibes and what are my intentions are they “pure” but they may not be only to make great music and improve peoples days and moods. It’s a variety things but mainly freedom and doing things people probably would’ve looked at me and said I can’t believe you out of all people achieved your goals. I don’t like showing off or to brag I just want to leave a lasting legacy and create things that are just sonically beautiful thank you all for your help. It’s been a difficult journey but what journey worth while isn’t?
Honestly it sounds like you’re more well suited to being an artist fam. You can wear the producer hat with ease, but at heart you must be an artist who wants to express themselves.
man can't describe how much you got me through these last months, every word said in this video hit so hard, thanks for sharing this with us Navie. Love you bro
I appreciate your vibe of improvement and learning. Respect for being real about your shortcomings, because we only learn when we face our flaws with honest eyes\ears. Also for people who idolize those who are ahead of them, it's important to remind them that nobody's born an expert. I think you're better suited as a teacher, sharing the journey of growing and improving at a craft of passion 👍 it'll give you an audience for your music sales etc in the long run, so keep at it with good useful tuts.
I failed at being an artist years ago (drummer, trombonist & computer man in bands) and I quit music for that reason. It was too much ! I was also very introverted. I switched to shit jobs ten years ago and quit music (as a full time activity) until a year ago after a bad, bad burnout : after a long & harsh revovery I'm ready to upload beats and hopefully becoming a full time music producer, thanks to all of you, the beatmaking gurus of TH-cam, so I owe you one !
Same here bro I was an artist but got tired of searching for producers and doing shows so I started producing and learned way more about recording, mixing and mastering now Iam just a producer which is way more fun!

I appreciate everything you’ve done for us home producers Navie! You’ve released countless videos explaining things that have been big game changers in my production. I can relate to what you were talking about at the end of the video. I was making music to feel better about myself because I was a shitty person, with no relationships and not taking care of my mind and body. I learned many lessons the hard way last year and I had to take a really long break from making my music all together. I finally figured out what I needed to do in order tomake myself feel better and I’m glad I learned sooner rather than later. Thank you for this vid 🙏 💯
This was one of the best videos I've seen on a music production channel. I definitely resonate with alot of this especially introversion and dealing with too many people. Thanks, this was incredible
Really appreciate you're vulnerability in this video Navie. I think elements of this perspective are super relatable to a lot of producers (myself included), and it's comforting to know someone such as yourself shares our views. And congrats on 100k bro! I'm looking forward to continue learning from you and watching you grow even more. Well deserved 👊🏻
My God I'm glad I clicked on this video. Tbh i clicked on it hoping I would think hey maybe I'm not In that bad of a situation. But then everything you said resonated with how I'm feeling. This was a good video to watch and it showed up at the right time. You basically told me everything I've been in denial about
I really feel you man! Felt like you just spited my life through your testimony. I'm pretty much in a place right now where you were before, somehow I feel like I'm your younger self the way you told us bout how your life was in the past. I'll try to fix my own life too and become less reclusive. Thanks for your word man, keep up the good work!
Thank you always for your authenticity and making your personal experience into teachable moments. Congratulations on reaching 100k! Your stories are much appreciated 🙏

I really admire your honesty and you owning up to where you think you might have fell short. Congratulations on everything you've accomplished so far its more than well deserved.
I relate to most of this especially the last part, I'm glad you found your stride and are in a better place now. I guess it's true what they say that you sometimes discover your true passion and true self in pursuit of that initial dream that might not be grounded in reality.
I just wanna say thank you! you are helping me out to improve my skills. I am also a very introvert person and thats the reason why I love the internet so much. I can learn and explore new things without making relationships to other people. because people regularly disappoint me and I am sick of this. when I can create my music I am alone and I feel solid happiness. greetings from Germany =)
Greeting to Germany! I would say to be careful and to not fall too far into comfort. Sometimes us introverts need to learn how to behave like extroverts at times in order to help ourselves (in this example, me getting on camera and actually making videos would never have happened if I let my introversion get in the way)
Congrats on 100k! Well deserved! I truly appreciate the candidness of this video. I've been making beats on and off since FL was called fruity loops and your channel has been one of the reasons I've found that passion again. Thanks Navie 🙏
Way to keep it 100. Takes a lot to tell your flaws and put yourself out there like that. My issue with music is the time! Being a father to 2 lil ones… i have to make time for my wife and kids… and in between work, I hardly have time for myself. But the one thing that always keeps me going is the love for the art! Music is a universal language. Keep up the good work brotha!
I lover your honesty. Sad to hear you stopped music production. I understand the struggles you had an I want to give you respect for being open about this. Stay safe and healthy.
nice of you to be so open about it. unfortunately that last point is a thing for many who think that getting more famous solves all your personal problems. becoming more famous can solve your business problem but not your mental problems. that is also one of the reasons why some famous people commit suicide. I would indeed say, learn to love yourself first before taking the next steps. thank you for your honesty
Man! you don't know how much this video has helped literally. this is so relatable. thanks for sharing this I can feel you're enjoying more doing what you're doing now and this is actually the most important thing anyway and this what life is all about
Thank you Navie for the story ♥️ much more candid and reflective than your typical 100k sub video. Also appreciate everything you do for the community man
Out of all those videos you released, thank you for this one, this video. It's the story of my journey as a producer. Introvert, uncomfortable in my own skin, a bunch of bad collabs and experiences. All of that stuff made me go to the gym, get my life on the right path and produce music for myself only. I stopped worrying about make it as producer or not. At the end of the day, I like the music I make and couldn't care less if someone else disagrees. Kudos to you.
congrats on the 100k man! been waiting for it, well deserved and so much more but i love the things you point out. helps make us lil guys realize we all human. but i never planned to be a full on music producer/beat maker because of a lot of these reasons.way too much to keep track of regarding so many artists. im just a rapper who picked up beat making to save money & just the fact i love creating. so only having to create for myself essentially makes it all less stressful since im my own boss & im not worrying about all these in demand people needing things from me
I think not only this, but all of your videos, are so much more more useful than most other youtube producers', mostly because you actually have the experience to talk as a teacher. You've been producing for a long time, obviously giving you production skills, but also just real world experiences in the business and with beatmaking. So thank you!
Seriously your channel it's insanely good. You're educating in a unique, fun, and easy way. Genuinely I think you are an amazing producer but if this is where you feel comfortable then that's fine, you're making your own story and that's what matters.
This is genuinely a very clever idea!!! It's inspiring to hear how other people that are successful now, have failed before and realized that success is not a over night achievement!!!
Wow!! I love your honesty! I'm not a beat maker and far, far away from being a music producer, but I see myself in your shoes. You're 100% right! At least from my point of view. Totally agree with you! I always thought I'm different, but after watching your video, I realized I'm normal!!! Big thanks for that!!! I really wish you great success in everything you intend to do!!!!
Man great video, for real! I've been here since the beginning and it's great to see you succeed in a way that makes you happy. Wish you all the best :)
I just found your channel recently, and ever since, you have been my favorite personality on the platform for beats (and lifestyle things in general). My interest in beats grew about a year and a half ago, and I have never been all that consistent. Recently, I had a phase where I was putting all of my energy towards beats in order to learn and get better as efficiently as possible, but I ended up enjoying it much less and falling behind with other things in life. It’s been about two weeks since I had a routine for producing, but since then I picked up some weights for the first time in over a year and I’ve spent way more time being productive towards school and work. Despite the break, I know that I will enjoy music like I once did when I have the time to sit down again. Overall, the topics and tone of your videos just feel much more personal than many other channels, and I appreciate that. There’s no exaggerated energy or filler in your videos, it’s just you being real with your audience. Keep doing what you do!
Man that was deep Navie. As someone that just does this for a hobby (an expensive one at that), I still feel all of what you’re saying. Keep up the positive work broski.
I really appreciated hearing this story. I wish more people with a platform would be honest and vulnerable like this. I too have often felt like an outsider. Still do! But I have grown to be proud of it. I find that I feel like an insider when I connect with other outsiders -- and that is kind of what I want to do with music. Connect with other outsiders, whether aspiring or established artists; music creators or music lovers. I want to encourage other outsiders that they are not alone and that being an outsider is actually a good thing! Without outsiders, we would not have creativity or growth! Thank you for this video. TH-cam needs more honest content like this. ❤
I appreciate this tremendously. I have been in a deep dark tunnel and now it makes sense. Its nice to hear someone I look up to and respect to say that they have gone through what i AM going through. It gives me hope, confidence, and a reason to feel better (for a few days lol).
Thank you, man. I appreciate your honesty. You are a great man. You must realise that you have inspired and taught so many others like you. Thanks again. Keep on being a great dude
This is a very vulnerable video thank you. You definitely brought some stuff that I have been dealing with too. It means a lot from someone I look up to.
You are a wise man. It took me longer to work out what you have, so never doubt that you are truly a smart and sensible person. Subscribed... Have a great day or night.
Man that last point was so spot on. Getting good at something to receive the validation that we are unable to give ourselves...Props to you for sharing this.
You literally spoke about things I can relate to. Parts where you talked about introversion, not knowing what you wanted out of life ect. In high school I honestly didn't know what I wanted out of life as well, I wasn't happy with myself, I had negative monologs running in the background. I devoted 2years (covid outbreak) off to focusing on myself, mentally, emotionally and physically. As for introversion, yeah too many networking becomes stressful for me as well. I have notice that to. Thanks for sharing this video, your struggles, your story with us. Very inspiring and comforting to know we aren't going through challenges aline. Congrats on the 1kk subs 👏 🙌🏽
Good on you for being real and sharing your vulnerabilities to those that struggle to find their own niche. It speaks volumes in the unique production of your music, showing to the world that your part of something great. God bless #HoldtheLine Canadians.
This is one of your best videos. You talked right out of my soul, I could really identify with your story and it helps me reflecting my whole situation. Thank you.
That was very very sincere to share. Thanks bro. I'm glad to hear your story and that you found better thing to do for your mental and spiritual health. I'm gonna rush for becoming a big producer, but I do have some same traits as you have but not exactly same, what differentiate us is making me feel disturbed by not doing something about it or to achieve my goals. There is an immense urge in me to do something big. So I'm gonna rush for that. But I feel for you at the same time and as I said, thanks for your honesty and sincerety. That's precious.
to be that honest is not easy. But is very very important to accept yourself and be happy in the long run! You did this very good! Big thumbs up dude, and congrats for the 100k, thats something!
Yo just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video. Everything you said I relate to. Everything you said in your story is almost exactly what I’m going through at the moment. I am about to go to College and study business but really don’t have a passion for it and it’s more because my dad wants me to study it. I also struggle with finding happiness with myself as I am dealing with work, school, and other personal problems. I also am an introvert and have always struggled to be in a relationship. I am trying to become a music producer because music is one of the only things I have a passion for and one of the only talents I have. I want to learn how to be a great music producer but I’m still in the beginner stage and just can’t seem to find the time to actually sit down and learn to make a decent beat. Anyways, I really appreciate you sharing your story and giving some good advice on how to make it.
Lmao. Nav, you have made literally DOZENS of the most top notch tracls I have ever had access to hear imo. I prefer your music over ALL else in my playlists because of the quality and fullness in the sounds you make. Taking time to retouch the things you need leaves your songs able to hold up forever and always blowing my mind hearing them. You have not one bad song imo, even the Joey bada$$ beat 10 years ago is still great
I can relate, I used to be an extrovert back in 2012 but when I lost my brother, I became an introvert but can still get out of my comfort zone if needed. It doesn't hold me back, what holds me back is making the same beats over and over instead of focusing on the new. Which I feel most artists themselves are scared to explore because they wanna sound like their "favorite" major artists. Plus you get used A LOT that's also something to mention, people tend to take advantage of you, especially when it comes up and coming producers/artists
Newly subscribed! Thank you for sharing your story. You talk about the side of producing that isn’t so sexy to a lot of people, and that’s the isolation, the doubt, the anxiety, etc. I have experienced all of this and still do. I can tell you this much, I do this simply because I LOVE IT. When you mentioned the blank canvas that is exactly how I approach production. To hear an idea come out through my speakers is one of the greatest feelings ever. Will my music ever be heard by the masses? Who knows, but my love for music will never waver because of that. Gotta binge watch your videos now lol. Much success to you and congrats on 100k subscribers, plus 1 😁
I see a lot of myself in you, both good and bad parts. When you said that you dont like making the same beat over and over again, that you'd rather open up a blank project and just explore different sounds, that resonated with me so much. I'm so thankful for all of your videos, they helped me beyond words man. You helped me improve so much.
Hold your head is one of my favorite songs and it really got me through a tough time in my life. I recently started following you to improve my production, but to know you produced that song, has renewed its inspiration for me. Thank you for what you do.
@@NavieD I felt that. I even reached out to him through FB a whole lot of years ago to thank him and he replied and was the kind soul he is. Just listened to it again and got chills as it brought me back to then. I heard it a bit differently today though.
Amazing story and insight. I feel the mental health aspect of production and what goes into it more than just making great beats is an important conversation to have, which unfortunately isn't talked about nearly enough. I fear the introverted aspect as well. I don't like being glued to my phone having to watch for texts and emails and keep many different conversations going. I want to be able to chill and relax and do what I wish. I am a very talkative person when face to face with someone and never have issues with people, but reaching out to strangers to essentially give them a sales pitch of myself scares the hell outta me. Seems so damn stressful. But I guess time will tell if I like it or not. Can't just not try because it's new and scary. As terrible as anxiety issues can be, it's also a necessary part of life to help us grow and become better.
Absolutely. I like the idea of examining all of the factors that relate to production outside of just production. Hopefully this video helps some people start thinking about some of these ideas
@@NavieD Oh no doubt! That goes to almost anything in life. Especially stuff that you consider attempting to make a full time job out of such as producing. You have to analyze all aspects and mentally prepare and research so once you do get to the point of it making you a living, you don't have a mental break down or live life stressed even though you should be ecstatic that you're living your dream.
I seriously cant believe it took this video for me to accept and release myself from that producer grind. I've already dissapeared from many connections ive made and am happy being more alone so that my creativity can flourish. I think that other comment was spot on, were more apt as solo artists. Thank you for the release and I hope you get huge karmic return for doing this for others. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing your story. I just discovered your channel about a week ago while searching tips of how to improve producing. Your content is very helpful. We all have ups and downs and sometimes it takes time to find yourself. Do whatever makes you happy.
dude just came across this video and all that you mentioned is 100% accurate, you didn't fail , seems like artists failed you! stay up man and do your thing🙏
The lessons in this video exceed all you have taught about practical production knowledge....the self awareness. Kudos. Even more respect for you and what you're doing now.
Man the amount of jewels in this video is ridiculous. And the self awareness it takes to realise then and courage it takes to share is admirable. Quality content.
This is so inspirational, thank you for your sincerity Navie D. I've only recently realised that I don't want to try and make a career out of guitar playing - I thought I did for many years because it was the only 'okay' thing in my life. I'm still struggling to figure out what career I want, but I can say I'm happy making music just for me now :)
Self-reflection is the most challenging avenue to navigate because we lean towards avoiding that hard truth like deep potholes. We have advice for everyone else, but when we have the same issue, we find ways to make it different instead of just excepting what we saw and trying to resolve it. Understanding the real you is a journey like no other, and more of us need to force ourselves to take that trip. Thanks for sharing Navie D.
Man For real I've been producing for years and always felt bad for not being able to do as much as i'd like or not having enough control of my future and, when i asked fellow artists or friends, they would always say that things would work out either way, that i didn't had to worry so much about it, etc...but i never got less anxious. Listening to your experience helped a ton. I can truly relate to what you're sayin and it felt great to hear some sincere words from another introvert producer who wishes to explore every sound possible. Directly from brazil: Obrigado!
Thank you, sincerely, for helping me get to where I am today.
thank you for helping the little dudes out! doing great things my man
You are doing the great work.

nice of you to be so open about it. unfortunately that last point is a thing for many who think that getting more famous solves all your personal problems. becoming more famous can solve your business problem but not your mental problems. that is also one of the reasons why some famous people commit suicide. I would indeed say, learn to love yourself first before taking the next steps. thank you for your honesty
I agree with this point. I was going to mention something similar, but I thought I would keep things focused on my own journey
Man! you don't know how much this video has helped literally. this is so relatable. thanks for sharing this
I can feel you're enjoying more doing what you're doing now and this is actually the most important thing anyway and this what life is all about
True indeed. I get to have fun, make beats, make videos, and do it on the terms that I want.
really appreciate the honesty. Very authentic and humble. This is very rare on the internet these days. Thank you.
Thank you Navie for the story ♥️ much more candid and reflective than your typical 100k sub video. Also appreciate everything you do for the community man
Man I just started back making music and I must say MAKING THE SAME beat holds me back I just can't. Glad too hear I'm not alone.
Yeah, it's tough for sure
Really appreciate your story and honesty. Especially the final part of the video. Thanks for sharing
Kudos to you.
you are an amazing person. thank you for this video i’m just speechless.
Thank you very much Mitchell
congrats on the 100k man! been waiting for it, well deserved and so much more
but i love the things you point out. helps make us lil guys realize we all human. but i never planned to be a full on music producer/beat maker because of a lot of these reasons.way too much to keep track of regarding so many artists. im just a rapper who picked up beat making to save money & just the fact i love creating. so only having to create for myself essentially makes it all less stressful since im my own boss & im not worrying about all these in demand people needing things from me
Sounds like you're going down a path that's more in alignment. Which is a good thing!
I think not only this, but all of your videos, are so much more more useful than most other youtube producers', mostly because you actually have the experience to talk as a teacher. You've been producing for a long time, obviously giving you production skills, but also just real world experiences in the business and with beatmaking. So thank you!
Thank you Bongoat! I am just trying to my part is all.
Yeah I am an old man now basically. It took a long time to find what was right for me
It's been a long road Nils. Thank you for coming along with me
wow man, this was beautiful honesty. I've felt the same
Thank you very much. I had a feeling that my story is a common one
This...this right here is the one video on the internet that hit home for me. I will never forget it. Thank you Navie D.
Keep up the positive work broski.
easily the most inspirational video yet - your honesty puts so much into perspective. thanks for your work man
I really appreciated hearing this story.
Wow… can’t explain how much I relate to this as a producer and music video director
I appreciate this tremendously. I have been in a deep dark tunnel and now it makes sense. Its nice to hear someone I look up to and respect to say that they have gone through what i AM going through. It gives me hope, confidence, and a reason to feel better (for a few days lol).
I can definitely relate to the not wanting to make the same beat repeatedly. 💯
Yep, it can feel like you're working a job at that point
Thank you, man. I appreciate your honesty. You are a great man. You must realise that you have inspired and taught so many others like you. Thanks again. Keep on being a great dude
This is a very vulnerable video thank you. You definitely brought some stuff that I have been dealing with too. It means a lot from someone I look up to.
you da man i swear, always keepin it super real
thanks for all the help!
Thank you big Neto!
You are a wise man. It took me longer to work out what you have, so never doubt that you are truly a smart and sensible person.
Subscribed... Have a great day or night.
Thanks for always dropping gems, both for music production and for life.
Absolutely!
I really needed this… especially towards the end of the video. This is why I love watching your channel… keep up the good work Navie 👏🏾👌🏾
Man that last point was so spot on. Getting good at something to receive the validation that we are unable to give ourselves...Props to you for sharing this.
Your a Great Soul man! We are greatful for the Jems!
Thank you Colin!
Mad respect for you Navie. Thanks for sharing
Wow. I'm about to embark on a musical career journey and I appreciate you're point of view!
Thank you very much. I try my best to be as honest as I can
This is one of your best videos. You talked right out of my soul, I could really identify with your story and it helps me reflecting my whole situation. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Big thumbs up dude, and congrats for the 100k, thats something!
for a beatmaking channel, this is your best video. i wish more artist would be this honest. good shit.
You have not one bad song imo, even the Joey bada$$ beat 10 years ago is still great
very helpful and humbling words, this channel is definitely getting better and better , thanks for spreading knowledge, and more importantly love.
I feel You ! Thanks for be more open to us ...
You're welcome dude
This was a very insightful perspective! But regardless, it's great that you moved past your shortcomings and saw success!
Thank you very much Fendi
@@NavieD you're welcome! I am a fan of your work! Keep it coming boss man!
Well, You Found Your Niche!
It's Great To Get To Learn From You.
Thank You & Congratulations on Your Milestone
I can relate, I used to be an extrovert back in 2012 but when I lost my brother, I became an introvert but can still get out of my comfort zone if needed. It doesn't hold me back, what holds me back is making the same beats over and over instead of focusing on the new. Which I feel most artists themselves are scared to explore because they wanna sound like their "favorite" major artists. Plus you get used A LOT that's also something to mention, people tend to take advantage of you, especially when it comes up and coming producers/artists
Cool video man. Really honest and personal. Thanks for opening up it really helps to hear perspectives like this!
Hahah that was actually the beat that I referred to in the video. Homeboy Sandman was the very first artist to tell me he liked my beats
@@NavieD I felt that. I even reached out to him through FB a whole lot of years ago to thank him and he replied and was the kind soul he is. Just listened to it again and got chills as it brought me back to then. I heard it a bit differently today though.
Gotta say your probably not alone on so many of these reasons. And it's really humble of you to talk about this 🙏
Thanks for sharing this bro 🙏🏽 this was deep. You ll have a million subs soon, love your beats 👊🏽
Thank you Samson!
Cheers!
Thank you very much. And best of luck on your journey going solo!
Thank you, Navie. This kind of realtalk is soulfood.
Hell yeah congrats on 100k and thanks for the wisdom!
Thank you for helping me getting here!
Thanks for sharing your story. I just discovered your channel about a week ago while searching tips of how to improve producing. Your content is very helpful. We all have ups and downs and sometimes it takes time to find yourself. Do whatever makes you happy.
dude just came across this video
and all that you mentioned is 100% accurate, you didn't fail , seems like artists failed you! stay up man and do your thing🙏
The lessons in this video exceed all you have taught about practical production knowledge....the self awareness. Kudos. Even more respect for you and what you're doing now.
Thank you for sharing this personal story. You definitely have made an impact on my life over the last few months.
Man the amount of jewels in this video is ridiculous. And the self awareness it takes to realise then and courage it takes to share is admirable. Quality content.
Thank you very much!
Glad I can help Ben!
Thank you Navie. God Bless.
🙏🙏
Man! I really needed to hear this Navie. Appreciative of your candor here. 💪🏾🙏🏾💯
Man i dont usually comment but I relate to this man. But you've help me keep going bro. Trying and prospering. Ty
🙏 Happy to help Malcolm
Beautiful vid bro! I hope you are happy and comfortable with yourself now!
Appreciate you man for what you doing for us and giving real advice form what you been through
Congrats for the 100k 👏
MOHA thank you very much
Man
For real
I've been producing for years and always felt bad for not being able to do as much as i'd like or not having enough control of my future and, when i asked fellow artists or friends, they would always say that things would work out either way, that i didn't had to worry so much about it, etc...but i never got less anxious.
Listening to your experience helped a ton. I can truly relate to what you're sayin and it felt great to hear some sincere words from another introvert producer who wishes to explore every sound possible.
Directly from brazil:
Obrigado!
Yeah I think there are many people who feel like us
Appreciate the transparency bredren … Rock on!
