We didn't even mention BTS during the interviews! I did do this interview because recently Son played in the Champions League Finals and BTS performed in Wembley Stadium at the same day. I noticed that Korean national pride was surging on the internet and everyone was being so proud about BTS. So I naturally had this curiosity of what random Koreans on the street would answer as their national pride as a Korean. I have to admit that Danny and I were really surprised at how everyone mentioned BTS in their answers! I am so proud of BTS and so are Koreans!

It's really amazing that many people are fascinated by a culture because of bts and so am I.
Im so glad people tend to dive deeper into the Korean culture thanks to bts
I feel like people already showed interest on Korean culture, but BTS made it ok to learn more about it. Back when SNSD was a TH-cam sensation ( before pay). It was still seen as a guilty pleasure, or just a wave in Asia only. Now people are proud to say the like kpop.
David didn't even have to mention BTS that these people did themselves, this is what I call an impact... I'm not Korean but leaving aside all the records bangtan keeps breaking and all the achievements they're getting I would be proud of them just for the people they are. They're spreading good messages while trying to be as down to earth as possible, trying to stay away from drama I think it's something that needs to be acknowledged too

Lets face it Korea has a lot to be proud of, you have BTS, Hyundai, Kia and Samsung to name just a few things that are really well known and liked it the west. All my TV's are Samsung , I just bought my second Map of the Persona album and a brand new Hyundai Kona. Also you have some amazing food.

U didnt even mention BTS this time. I remember the day u and danny interviewd the street and asked if they know BTS and sadly most of the ppl u met never heard of their name. Only few knew Bangtan Seonyeondan. This journey I started,I never regretted it. I get to see how much BTS prosper and become the nation's pride.

Victoria _rhayne that is why we need to keep rasing up the boys even higher internationally because this inmediatley affect the way they are seen and treated in their country (it is what it is ) we need to make sure koreans understand that they will never have another group or artist that would bring more archievments and pride to their country than BTS at least not in the next 20 years we are doing amazing right now but we should never get comfortable we what we and the boys have and always look for more and better things for us and the boys i love you all armys you all are so brave , so strong , so smart and so dedicated i'm not only proud of BTS but i'm proud of ARMYS too . @@loveyourself6986 i believe it was in 2017.... bts were very popular internationally but they were unknown group in korea beacuse media is controlled by big3 and they used to never report bts achievements untill around 2018 when their fame skyrocketed ....they began to get recognition in their own country after they became big internationally first...i remember koreans being shocked hearing bts were big internationally in interviews like this

I think BTS not only represents Korea in the international scale, but also brings pride for all east asians. As a Chinese person living in America, I dont see a lot of East Asian representation other than the nerdy kid trope. BTS is Asia's pride and Korea's pride!

They have introduced kpop and korea to the world and made south korea proud, they also received the order of cultural merit at a young age. I like how some of them had so much pride in Hangul and the Korean language, as a language than no other country has or speaks. That it is specifically Korean. Makes me want to push more to learn both.

@@sbshanashiningstar As a French person myself, I admit we are indeed very proud of our language ^^. It's also spoken in Belgium, Quebec (the "french" part of Canada), Switzerland and also in a few other countries in Africa that were colonized by France in the past.

This video was great and very insightful, thank you. Being proud of your country and naming specific events or accomplishments is wonderful. Seeing this video two years after it aired, we can see how much South Korea’s influence has spread around the world since then but not just because of BTS. A few things I found notable was that only one person, the gentlemen who mentioned his military service also mentioned there could be improvements related to racism; not one person mentioned SK’s phenomenal economic boom due to focused effort in the late 80’s-early 90’s which really helped SK move forward on the international front; and the mention of “Parasite” which went on to win the Academy award for Best Picture, an extraordinary first from one of the most racially biased industries in the United States.
Kudos to all your subjects or participants to this beautiful/open-minding interview!!!! Fighting!!! I have a goal to learn Korean and hopefully I could see the result next year. Thank you for doing this.

They probably are not even Korean and keep making assumptions that big groups like BIGBANG and EXO are Korea's pride but it is BTS that everyone talks about. Many people in Korea might prefer EXO over BTS but nobody can deny the fact that BTS has a big impact on Korea's economics and Korean music.
