An easy fix to Tamiya's TT01 suspension. 8 Screws and a bit of time make for a much better handling car. No more change in attitude during a race because your suspension suddenly changes its geometry. I believe this to be one of the most important modifications you can ever do to this chassis. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I was skeptical at first , thinking shims would be better , however I see the benefit of adjustability in this so I am convert and that's not easy to do . Bravo .
absolutely brilliant thank you for taking the time to make this video I will be doing this modification to mine thank you again
Very nice job... sometimes I just made an "insert" of a small peace of "carton paper" , on internal arms holes of chassis , and fix kite well to !!!
I love the DMT music
The shims work well and is fairly easy to do. However, I really like how adjustable the screws are. You can really tune your suspension without taking things apart .
Awesome Idea! I will to this to my sloppy TT-01! Thanks!
Yes a spacer would work, however this is adjustable and much more precise.
nice instructive video. thx for sharing.
well i used some PTFE teflon tape on my TT01, same results
@papabeeh The Set screws are quite tight. I was going to tap it first but simply using the screw to create the threads was way better. Otherwise there is always thread lock. And when the table wears in more, simply readjust.
Billy C. LeWorth you have a tt01 aswell? Im just going to convert mine, and add spacers where the parts tend to wiggle.
Hey.
I run full alloy from yeah racing and they come with washers that keep it from having slop. Cant you just add them so that they dont wiggle?
Thanks
great and creative
nice upgrades will do this in my cars . . .
how about countersteer ?
what sizes are those screws?
hwo do i adjust my suspension is stiff as a rock.
What aspects can you tune?
It is possible that they can be longer. Look up different releases of the TT01 chassis and figure out which body might have longer body mounts.
Hey, What a nice idea!! But it gives you an advantege only on drifting or it works even for touring? and can you give me the measures of the diameter of the drill bits in millimeters?
Thanks a lot!!
thick grease in the pivot holes and a shim = done with no tools and less time without altering anything to the chassis ...
how many screws have you lost till now?
I fully understand all of that. I just think its a wrong name for it as Counter steer is the action of steering in the direction your sliding in and that is obviously called Drifting. This has nothing to do (technically speaking) with overdriving the rear vs the front. I find it funny how these terms are chosen by the masses(SHEEP) because one person called it that who seemed to know what they were talking about.
Thanks for the info about the "Overdrive" options for the TT
@papabeeh There are 2 sizes since the lower holes are smaller. Technically I am selling the screw kits and giving away the sizes would be counter productive.
Rear body arms (the arms you put your body on) look a bit longer than stock. Is it true? looking forward lifting my BMW M3 E30 body to use offroad tyres on the chassis. But I am new in this whole RC thing so not sure how to properly do it. Did you buy custom arms?
Ev.
I am guessing you installed the screws in. if so just loosen them bit by bit until the suspension moves properly.
Well!!! Mine is completely converted to carbon fiber with fully adjustable suspension. So yes I like it a lot. As a stock kit it is good and very durable. I actually have a complete one for sale if you are interested. Send me a private message if you want to see it.
Hi, is this chassis worth?
Don't know what that means.... Thanks for watching
It's called "counter steer"because you have to "countersteer"more, depending on the cs ratio you run. Depending on your experience, you may cope with cs, or may find 50/50 fine, but cs is a different driving style. And TT01 has cs options, 1.44, 1.5, or 2.0 all from active hobby.
no or 1% movement.? Because they are different.
and the length of the grub screw
Just add a spacer between them... Or won't that work?
Two reasons...
1- It will not fit unless you do
2- It allows you to adjust the tension.
The link in the vid to purchase them no longer looks valid. Anyone know what size the grub screws are?
8/32 & 10/32 ...
Thank you! Answered my only question. Brilliant mod!
Answered mine too. Thanks!
what type of grub screw flat tip or cup tip did you use
Flat is good and 1/4" - 3/8"should be fine.
Thank you
I think he means grub screws. you would just need grub screws that are pretty much slightly larger than the hole wouldn't you? That way they would fit snugly, and would not fall out.
Do you have the metric equivalent for us got a in the UK
A quick Google search should help you with that.
@@TheLEDwheelthank you I wasn't sure if you had the eqivilant. My car has a lot of slack in it so I will be doing this to my tt01
Cool vid . is TT-01E good for start drifting ? Or TT-02 is better .
+Václav Šlehofer They are both good cars but neither is great for Drifting... Have a look at the Sakura D3 CS or D4 CS on the Asiatees website. These two were designed for this purpose.
+TheLEDwheel thx for help :D
+Václav Šlehofer i got a tt01 and drifts great with locked rear diff and front 1 way :O
Its not horrible, however if and when you try an RC that was designed for Drifting you will see a big difference.
TheLEDwheel Yeah i agree but i am on a tight budget XD
The yeah racing system is different than original and I guess you can probably insert washers but you will always a little movement. This way they is NO MORE play . takes away 99% of it.
They are called chub screws and can be bought from any hard wear store!!!
you could put small spacer inside the arm
not adjustable that way.
Yea true,,, like your way i like it
Google is your friend...
Don't think we can do Countersteer on a TT-01. And honestly I don't understand why they call it Countersteer. The definition of Countersteer is when you steer in the opposite direction that you are moving. It should be called hardtosteer as its more difficult to drive. lol
Yes they are bigger, Since no one is buying anything any way, Here are the sizes for those who wish to try.
Larger Grub Screw is 10/32
Smaller Grub Screw is 8/32
Yup...great vid, but lose that tune fella!
thans and can't...
yeah nah
