Everything from namkng all the parts to how they work alone and/or with each other. Bravo!! Thank you Mr Fowler. Have subscribed to channel and will be looking through your collection of videos.
Thanks for the video. Had to get a refresher on how to use my intervalometer and this helped. Also just an added tip, turn off continuous shot if you have it on, or don't want many shots, because I had it set and it kept shooting way to many shots.
I bought an intervalometer and a 50mm. Going to China in a couple weeks and I think this really helped! Thanks dude. If I get anything good I will let you know!
Great Video, very clear & concise.. straight to the point, this really helped me - I have the exact same model, I put purchased it about a month ago & struggled with the instructions that came with it (overly complicated & confusing) - keep up the good work - Thanks 😃
I have just dug out my intervalometer and now I am trying to get my head around on how to use it. I have the same one as you have in the video. I use my Canon camera for astrophotography mainly and I haven't found a video that explains the time difference that it takes for the camera to transfer the image to SD card or computer. If I had my intervalometer set to take a 30sec exposure then it took 20sec to transfer the image to the card would I not have to add that time to the interval time ? = 50sec total, and that's not allowing for a settling time factor. I am going to have play with the settings before I go out again to see if it works. I see that a lot of these types of videos go back quite a few years. Cheers from the land down under.
Sorry if Im asking a stupid question. But for Long, it is only useful when the camera is in manual mode, with bulb shutter speed, am I right? If the camera is in manual mode with the timer set at 20 seconds, does the Long still does anything to the shot?
@@walaoabc1234 Yes, long is for bulb mode. If you set camera to 20 sec will be a mess. Long is like another name for shutter speed when you need more than 20 seconds exposures.
@@walaoabc1234 Yes and thank you also. I knew you could hold the shutter open indefinitely and after 20 sec it gets pretty arbitrary anyway so I get the point finally. Between the print and the broken English the directions were nonsense. Pretty nice piece of gear though.

Ryan, a brilliant guide. I dug my ‘shoot’ out for a job and couldn’t remember how to use it at all. Thanks to your video I’m going out ready and prepared, really appreciate it!
I liked your clear and simple explanation and the fact that you had the unit clamped and in focus. But why did you shoot this black device against an almost pure white background? Wouldn't a mid-tone or darker be much better? On my desktop screen I could not distinguish the black buttons from the black body. I wand to be encouraging but I really think a re-shoot is called for.
Excellent video Ryan👍. Reading through the messages I noticed that some ask the same question about turning it off. Normally if you hold the start/stop button down for 3 seconds it will turn off. To turn it back on repeat again.
Great video! Thank you for taking the time. Very clear instructions and now easy to understand. Is there a way to turn it off though? does it go into sleep mode? Just take a battery out when not in use? Cheers!
I’ve had the same trouble with turning it off. If you leave it, it will go to sleep but the battery will still drain if it’s in your bag as something might knock it, wake it up and then drain battery. I usually take one battery out, turn it around and then put it back in to switch around for the next time I want to use it.
The best and simplest explanation of an intervelometer. Much thanks! I like the part where you said "LONG" is a pointless feature. I too agree with that piece of feature on these accessories ;)
Long is the most important for astrophotography. When you want to see the stars and let a lot of light in, you need to have long exposures even up to 20-30 seconds or more. ;-)
Thank you so much for this! I'm struggling trying to understand it, was about to buy another one, as it turns out, mine is able to do the interval as well. again thank you so much!
