Colorado Adventurer thanks so much man! We missed you Sunday but hope to run with you in the future! I absolutely love watching your KLs just breeze over the tough stuff!
the camera work is honestly better than some popular channels. seriously, nice work. i love the still shots on the hard obstacles so keep doing that! also, love the descriptions of each obstacle. i think that is really cool
Thanks for the feedback!! I’m not very good at taking pics while wheeling (that’s also why the thumbnails are screenshots), but I’ll keep doing this. Hoping I have good screenshots for the next two, but I will focus on getting the right angle in future videos. I appreciate the feedback and you for watching!
Did Hatchett Gulch a couple of weeks ago, in a ‘16 power wagon. A little tight in spots for her, but that is an awesome trail! No clearance issues. But definitely technical! What a blast!
JD Miller That’s what I love about off-roading, different strokes for different folks, but all awesome! I’d like to see you wheel so I hope so! Heck, if you wanted, I could probably get you in a trail guide... I’m trying to expand those to include more variety so people can get an idea if their rig will be ok.
It’s not fair for me to say difficulty. My jeep isn’t a jeep anymore. 40’s atlas twin stick 1 ton axles 5:38’s arb lockers hydro steering long arm kit running 40’s. That said it is still one of my favorite trails. Great video.
He doesn’t like editing or hosting... then again neither do I 😂. We both love wheeling though and trying to get awesome shots of each other so we make it work here 😉
Thank you and thanks for watching! Trying to improve them with every upload and I’m glad the editing is noticed (it’s my least favorite part of making these 😂).
Exactly! About to do that for Tincup Pass... but I know there’s some awesome stuff in there so hoping it goes easy. The biggest issue I encounter is my GoPro footage is it dated incorrectly so it makes it tough to organize with the outside captured footage. That’s gonna be my issue with Tincup.
I remember this and Longwater Gulch as some of my favorite trails. Did solo rig with a buddy of mine on our way to Moab from the Midwest. Camped at the river (2003) and then crossed the next morning. It was about as deep as I'd like to cross (almost to headlights in May) but went through just fine. Just had to extract the seat cushion from my bottom when back on dry land. Moguls etc. were awesome. Funny thing, I disconnected my sway bar before this trail and ended up ripping my CV boot because I didn't secure the links! Had to fix in Moab.... Once again, great content! Lighting the off-road fire in my soul again!
Yeah, it’s a great trail. There’s no signs saying not to cross, but I was so jealous watching others do it. Unfortunately I knew I couldn’t. I’m so glad you’re liking these... that’s my goal! They’re fun to film with my buddies and I hope they help others see what the trail is like. Thanks for watching!!
Michael Tofu Awesome! I’ll keep doing that for the more defined obstacles and try to figure a way to get it done for the less defined obstacles (boulder fields and mud/rock obstacles). Thanks so much for watching and for the feedback!
Yeah, I like trying new beers so I figured what’s more Colorado than drinking Colorado brews with a foam rating that “indicates” the trails roughness 😂. I get hate on it sometime tho, like people think I’m pounding beers on the trail 🙄
CZ_Mate Thanks man! I appreciate that... checked out your channel myself and it seems like I might be able to learn some stuff from you so I did the same!
Looks awesome. One of my favorite trails. First time I did it, didn't know about not crossing the river and I did it. I try telling everyone I can now not to do that.
Thanks buddy! Yeah, I don’t blame anyone for crossing (if they truly don’t know) as there isn’t any signs and it’s part of the actual trail. I personally think it’s the anti-OHV group pulling the signs so they can use that against us. That may just be me hoping it’s them and not our own people. We really just need the loop restored as a directional loop as this would decrease the environmental impact while still bringing in money to both Teller and Park Counties. Thanks for watching! Can’t wait to see your new one!
I love the video. Thank you. We just found an unrepairable break down on my wife's car (subframe rust...pretty bad). So, we are looking at the Cherokee trail hawk. It would be enough for us (well her. I want a built Wrangler lol). It appears the Cherokee holds it's own.
It definitely does! You’ll like the one I’m finishing up now (it’ll be available later today) as I think the Cherokee may have had the easiest time (renegades, wranglers, and Cherokees all participated). I’ve also driven Sean’s KL (the grey one) and really liked it! It smooths out the trail nicely! I have one coming where the Cherokee didn’t make one tiny part and the wranglers did, but I think Zach (black KL 3in lift) would have made it and Sean (2in lift currently) was really close. We’ll likely come back and try it again later. Thanks for watching and enjoy that Cherokee!
Thank you for the reply and suggestions. I will probably only do 1-2 inch lift and one size up in tires. At most. Just to get us a little further down the forest roads and other roads we camp down. Thank you
I know it’s a new thing, and even more editing… but cutting some of these obstacle segments into TH-cam #Shorts would pay huge dividends. I’ve caught myself wanting to share a number of them with my friends.
My Jeep is down for a few weeks and this was on the plan to edit as not everyone has a lot of time (myself especially). I wasn’t going to do it as a shorts segment as I film horizontally... but it’s an idea, thanks!
Wow another awesome video for Part 2! I always have so much to say after watching one of these and I feel like I forget half of what I wanted to say by the end 😭 First off I loved all the camera angles, noticed you using your phone at one point but overall the camera quality was soo good even on the phone footage! Also was noticing the suspension especially on the trail guide’s van and it was really putting in the work. You always mention the vehicles as incredible machines, and you’re absolutely right! And then there were all the tough spots where I’m almost certain you guys might have gotten some gnarly scrapes. I hope that it didn’t cause too much damage if any 😭 In terms of feedback on improving, I enjoyed it a lot. It’s not something I usually find myself watching but you definitely make it interesting and I always learn something new. The guide itself I’m sure comes in extremely handy for those looking at trying the trail. Keep it up and I’m definitely looking forward to part 3 🙌🏻
Dude, thanks so much! Awesome feedback! Yeah, I upgraded to the iPhone 11 just because the video performance was improved so much. The GoPros are great, but I feel like I’m getting better footage from the phone. Still, once money isn’t tight anymore, I’ll look for a dedicated video camera... it’s just finding the right specs for a portable off roading camera is tough. No damage to any of the Jeeps... we have skid plates and rock rails. They’re also designed to take the bumps experienced. Now if I wheeled it with a lot of throttle into the rock obstacle, that could be a problem. Thanks so much for the feedback and support! I’ll likely be studying your amazing camera work to bring it into my videos 😉
Dewie’s Colorado Hahah I’d say don’t even bother getting a dedicated video camera because the quality already looks like it. But if you are interested in one I’d recommend the Nikon Z6. Great 4K and slow motion features. And phew that’s a relief to hear with respect to the skid plates! Lol if you need any advice on camera work feel free to give me a shout 👊🏻
Alizoid I’ll look that one up! There’s a lot I need right now... I edit on a $350 iPad 😬, I’m having some trouble rendering these videos so I might need to upgrade that next! Oh, I definitely might need to talk filming... yours is top notch!
Dewie’s Colorado Lol editing itself is a process and a constant learning curve. I honestly never would have thought you edited that on an iPad 😭👏🏻 But you can always look up Davinci Resolve which has a free version that you can use on a computer. That should definitely help.
Alizoid I use to use Adobe Premiere for mid south Jeep club videos, but my Mac is so old now that I just use it to back up all these files to a hard drive. It definitely can’t handle 4K. But, I’m LOVING iPad editing, theoretically I think I could put a rough edit together on the trail while camping. That’d be so much fun to show and get real time feedback! As of right now, I definitely encounter issues that delays these occasionally... I hope an iPad Pro with 1TB would fix that, but it’s a lot of money to put out on a hopefully it’ll work.
Great videos. I have a 2019 TH Elite, got a 2 inch lift coming in this week. Can’t believe what I have been able to do with it so far even without a lift. Next item will be rock rails as the plastic pieces are ripping off from rocks.
Great video as always man. This trail looks really fun honestly but with it being down south idk when I’ll ever get down there and I don’t think my ranger can do it tell I get better tires and maybe a rear locker or a lift lol. Really enjoy the voice over stuff as well I think it suited the video very well. Also kinda digging that Toyota even tho I am a Jeep guy at heart lol
Nick’s Toyota is awesome especially with the way he pushes it! It’s definitely a fun trail. I’d start on Longwater & Metberry and if those went well, then Hackett might be doable. The renegade I wheeled with on Sunday said he was able to get up Hackett rock and honestly that was my only concern for him on the trail. The small size of the renegade and your ranger would be advantageous for a lot of this trail like what Kerry said about mine 😂. Thanks for the support buddy!
Dewie’s Colorado ya we will see maybe I’ll get to do those trails sometime just hard for me to go that far with not knowing the trails or having anyone with me so tell get a bumper and a winch I am for sure limited. Ya that’s true I have a single cab short bed so I am pretty short so to speak so I can really move around the trail which has its perks lol. And of course man I envy your work on the videos and how many trails you’ve done already this year lol.
@@Anthony_Adventures here is the thing though. We are trying to show the hardest ways through each trail, because that also makes good videos , but there are a lot of ways you can work through trails smartly taking advantage of some of the bypasses , where you can still get to enjoy the trail even if you don't take the most extreme lines. And getting the chance to see some of the views we get to see are totally worth working through them in whatever way works best for you :)
Solo Assassin yeah, we need to start covering some easy and moderate trails too... just nobody watches them. I think Peru creek is still below 100 views and that was like a 3 minute video. Maybe I just need to find a way to make them entertaining!
Dewie’s Colorado ya I agree just gotta get out there and see what can do if not nothing wrong with turning around. But ya the harder stuff is always what people like to watch for sure. That’s why it sucks for people like me with budget builds and stuff cuz nobody wants to do the easier trails or anything because all the newer vehicles are so capable that it isn’t fun to watch or fun to drive and all that stuff so.
It is great to see someone taking stockers thru these. If ya dont mind scrapes and bruises. Ya think an 04 GC on stock 29's with a front locker would do it?
Getting better man! I'm super jealous of the trails you guys have access to! That poor taco... A couple of superfluous 3 second clips that showed less than the clips you swapped away from/back to, always use the most clear video unless the one that is not as clear has some crazy perspective or something. Other than that you are getting better with each vid. Commentary was much better for this one as well!
Fearless Trailhawk I love Nick’s Taco and the way he wheels it (that’s why it’s the thumbnail), but Sean and I went back to film as I didn’t have the shots I need for a trail guide. Nick’s Tacoma is in a lot of my GoPro footage as day 1 is where I filmed my trail footage and he was in front of me a lot. I had GoPro footage of Sean from that day (he was behind me) but didn’t use it. Plus my GoPro footage wasn’t very good anyway as I didn’t have a polarizer then. Both of these Jeeps are stock with no lifts or increased tire sizes? What is the ground clearance on both? I have been trying to figure out if my 2020 4Runner SR5 could make it okay.
Mine is stock (10.0in), his Cherokee has a leveling kit here so 8.7 in plus probably 1.5in. I’d take the SR5, but I have a 4Runner in my garage that I’m not allowed to wheel because I say stuff like that. I truly think it’d be fine tho, but I’ve showed the hardest parts in this video. You should be able to decide… you can always turn around too.
