  • Oil change on a 1999 4.6 Litre Range Rover P38 V8.
Was recommended Valvoline 20w50 to reduce a bit of a valve tick.

I love to watch videos on oil changes, I think I could watch them all day. Does that make me weird? This was a good one. Here are a few suggestions I would add that are free of charge:
    1. Before removing drain plug, remove the fill cap and dip stick. This helps more oil to drain out.
    2. Once filter is removed, check to make sure all of the old gasket came off.
    3. Do smear some fresh oil on the new filter gasket. This helps to make sure all of it comes off at the next change.
    4. If your filter sits in a vertical position when installed, mostly fill it with fresh oil before installing the new one. This helps reduce metal on metal contact of engine parts at first start-up.

Great Video Ed, thanks for putting the effort in to make this. Really appreciated.
Loved the “if ones fingers aren’t too oily” I feel that one!

    Interesting choice of cars, I also have a R107 and a P38 :)

I thought I read in the service manual that you had to prime the filter on these engines. If I can find it, I'll attach it to my comment.
