Minitell they're not that bad, the rpg's just aren't quiet the same as matt's (not worse, just different), the board games are often fun to watch, and the rest of it. Has it's own niches too. Geek and sundry doesn't really cater to any one audience as a whole, rather, their continual shows all cater to their own audiences who likely only watch that show and maybe one other thing from G&S
Abelhawk - I do hope they can eventually move out from under the wing of Geek & Sundry; while I understand the contractual obligations, and the fact G&S gave them a running start and continuous support, full independence would be a goal I'll be 100% behind. It has made my life better. :) The Long read: Thanks (mostly) to Travis, for being Travis and showing that it is fine for big fit guys to be big nerds, and Matt, for talking about having been overweight and inspiring me to be a fitter nerd. I have lost over 19 kg (a bit over 42 lb.) since December and feel a lot better in general. My goal is to shed about twice that and actually be of ideal weight for a guy of my height for the first time in my life and at his rate that should happen around winter early next year, maybe sooner if I cut down a bit on the pork… but it’s so good though. I am up to running about 9 miles a few days a week and I try to hit the gym at least once a week (still trying to get in the habit of that, but cardio is just so good for burning calories). I could even stop taking my antidepressants (for treating a chronic migraine, not depression) over a month ago after having taken them on a daily basis for about 9 years. Thus far I feel better than I ever did on meds (because hard training makes you sleep good, meaning less migraine problems from poor sleep). I haven't even had a sick day in a few months now, where I used to have at least one or two a month because of the migraine. It turns out regular exercise is good for you, even if you have to take several hours a week away from your nerdy interests to do it, but it took some fellow nerds saying it repeatedly (and me really not wanting to buy bigger clothing, because I once again “outgrew” aka. “got too fat for” mine) before I got the point and started putting in the work... and now I kind of enjoy the work. Ps. I need Matt's shirt. Not the one he's wearing specifically, but one of the same model. Because that is a nice shirt and I have been jealous of it ever since I first saw it. Anyone know where I buy one like it? Ds.
TheBloddypimp Paywalls are great aren't they! I appreciate that these guys want to be payed for their time but some of us can't pay money to yet more monthly subscription things and still pay the crap real life throws at us. Also seems like people don't understand that having a family is expensive, or(like a friend of mine) they just don't care and their own enjoyment comes before they make sure they provided for their families(back to that friend of mine, lucky(?) for him he doesn't have to worry about that anymore because his wife left his worthless ass)

I think all (well, most) playlists disappeared as a part of G&S's channel layout (and TH-cam too) changing because now all the playlists are actually on the Home page of a channel instead under Playlists section.
Honestly, I am more worried about geek and sundry’s future without Marisha’s direction and CR fanbase than I am about CR running into transition issues
I dunno looking at the Geek and Sundry youtube page and you take out the critical role videos they have barely a hand full of videos that break 100k views in the last year. 2 of those are only because Day[9] was involved in the video and another handful of them are the wil wheaton tabletop vids which there haven't been any new ones in like 8 months. Then you also have how upset a lot of the geek and sundry fans got over the whole project alpha thing. Like if critical role were no longer part of geek and sundry at some point geek and sundry would lose a pretty significant number of alpha and twitch subs. They just don't have any thing going right now that is doing crazy well and some of those things are putting in a lot more resources than they get out.
There's a heap of us that watch the shows within Alpha for example. TH-cam views aren't everything. I started watching Alpha for CR, but I'm staying for all the other stuff. Sagas of Sundry, We're Alive: Frontier, there's a heap of talented people there still.
Ariaflame I started watching CR on TH-cam, where it's free! The flashing icons aren't worth 5 dollars! I also have to think that if this is, and according to stuff people apparently don't read it ISN'T, CR making a step towards moving out on their own that G&S WOULD VERY MUCH BE IN TROUBLE! Go back and watch old VODs of the first campaign and you can see the sub counts go almost nowhere between CR episodes and then during it they get a crap load! CR, and many of the cast members, made G&S a successful channel and then somewhere along the lines and behind the scenes they took it a direction that I feel was a mistake. But this is just my opinion and I am but one man

Yeah, and it should be built in a non-coast location, so it doesn't compete with the Disneys and could possibly have a lower flight cost. And if it were resort style, I'd love to stay in a CR themed suite, as well.

I saw this coming for a while, especially after the outrageous success of Matt Colville's Patreon. A Critical Role Patreon would net millions per year. My question: Who's funding this move to a new space and the hiring on a small team of employees? That's NOT cheap. Does CR have a group of Angel Investors or VC's???

This sounds interesting and I'm curious about what's coming next. However, I fear this might be the first step towards the total separation between GnS and Crit Role. In other notes, If there's one thing I would LOVE to see is a hub in Europe for your merchandise, I'm pretty sure your sales would skyrocket if more ppl were able to buy your things without having to deal with pesky Customs.
I will not defend GnS but neither will I forget the fact that GnS gave them the platform and support that allowed for CR to be where they are right now. They're not a "corpse", they are a company full of people that work hard to find new ways to give room to creative minds and their interests. You can say that "Legendary owns GnS and doesn't give a crap about any of this, they just want the exposure and the money this brings", but that won't take away the fact that GnS's team still has people that do care about the show, care about the viewers and the overall community. If CR were to gather all those people and make room for them in their own channel, that could be interesting, but I find it very unlikely at the moment. People aren't numbers and they deserve respect and consideration.

You want to know what merch Im interested in? Campaign 1 Animated Show. You could probably cut it down to about 50-60 episodes and not have to lose to much, it'd be a great way for those of us who due to time constraints cant go back and watch thousands of hours of gameplay to get the full story, and it would just be an awesome cartoon to begin with

So unless you watch other stuff on Alpha as well it's not worth paying 5 dollars a month just to get flashing character icons where they are near death, their faces already tell us to be worried about what might come! In my opinion, Alpha isn't worth the money. I had a free trial, and subsequent month(unintentionally, didnt realize there was still money on the prepaid card I used to cover the fee) and the stuff that is alpha exclusive just didn't seem all that interesting to me, and I'd guess not to many others either!
My greatest concern is that Critical Role bubbles into an extremely successful show but then pops as the people involved have a misunderstanding or there's some complication with the company, something. I know Matt has publicly voiced how he worries about this too and that the crew is constantly monitoring how they're doing and making sure everything is fine, which is great. I just really don't want to see one of the greatest live shows to crash and burn when it has such a fantastic and loving community.

TheBloddypimp Paywalls are great aren't they! I appreciate that these guys want to be payed for their time but some of us can't pay money to yet more monthly subscription things and still pay the crap real life throws at us.
Also seems like people don't understand that having a family is expensive, or(like a friend of mine) they just don't care and their own enjoyment comes before they make sure they provided for their families(back to that friend of mine, lucky(?) for him he doesn't have to worry about that anymore because his wife left his worthless ass)

I think all (well, most) playlists disappeared as a part of G&S's channel layout (and TH-cam too) changing because now all the playlists are actually on the Home page of a channel instead under Playlists section.
Honestly, I am more worried about geek and sundry’s future without Marisha’s direction and CR fanbase than I am about CR running into transition issues

I dunno looking at the Geek and Sundry youtube page and you take out the critical role videos they have barely a hand full of videos that break 100k views in the last year.
2 of those are only because Day[9] was involved in the video and another handful of them are the wil wheaton tabletop vids which there haven't been any new ones in like 8 months. Then you also have how upset a lot of the geek and sundry fans got over the whole project alpha thing.
Like if critical role were no longer part of geek and sundry at some point geek and sundry would lose a pretty significant number of alpha and twitch subs. They just don't have any thing going right now that is doing crazy well and some of those things are putting in a lot more resources than they get out.
There's a heap of us that watch the shows within Alpha for example. TH-cam views aren't everything. I started watching Alpha for CR, but I'm staying for all the other stuff. Sagas of Sundry, We're Alive: Frontier, there's a heap of talented people there still.
Ariaflame I started watching CR on TH-cam, where it's free! The flashing icons aren't worth 5 dollars! I also have to think that if this is, and according to stuff people apparently don't read it ISN'T, CR making a step towards moving out on their own that G&S WOULD VERY MUCH BE IN TROUBLE!
Go back and watch old VODs of the first campaign and you can see the sub counts go almost nowhere between CR episodes and then during it they get a crap load! CR, and many of the cast members, made G&S a successful channel and then somewhere along the lines and behind the scenes they took it a direction that I feel was a mistake.
But this is just my opinion and I am but one man

Yeah, and it should be built in a non-coast location, so it doesn't compete with the Disneys and could possibly have a lower flight cost. And if it were resort style, I'd love to stay in a CR themed suite, as well.

I saw this coming for a while, especially after the outrageous success of Matt Colville's Patreon. A Critical Role Patreon would net millions per year.
My question: Who's funding this move to a new space and the hiring on a small team of employees? That's NOT cheap. Does CR have a group of Angel Investors or VC's???

This sounds interesting and I'm curious about what's coming next. However, I fear this might be the first step towards the total separation between GnS and Crit Role.
In other notes, If there's one thing I would LOVE to see is a hub in Europe for your merchandise, I'm pretty sure your sales would skyrocket if more ppl were able to buy your things without having to deal with pesky Customs.
I will not defend GnS but neither will I forget the fact that GnS gave them the platform and support that allowed for CR to be where they are right now. They're not a "corpse", they are a company full of people that work hard to find new ways to give room to creative minds and their interests. You can say that "Legendary owns GnS and doesn't give a crap about any of this, they just want the exposure and the money this brings", but that won't take away the fact that GnS's team still has people that do care about the show, care about the viewers and the overall community. If CR were to gather all those people and make room for them in their own channel, that could be interesting, but I find it very unlikely at the moment. People aren't numbers and they deserve respect and consideration.

You want to know what merch Im interested in? Campaign 1 Animated Show. You could probably cut it down to about 50-60 episodes and not have to lose to much, it'd be a great way for those of us who due to time constraints cant go back and watch thousands of hours of gameplay to get the full story, and it would just be an awesome cartoon to begin with
So what's going to happen with Taleisin now? Will he stay on with geek and sundry, or will he (like Marisha) move to more CR-related things?

Well, from what I know, he, Marisha and Matt are very good friends, so my guess is that he'll probably go with them rather than staying with G&S.

Cassidy Neuman They are also here and on Twitch for FREE! So unless you watch other stuff on Alpha as well it's not worth paying 5 dollars a month just to get flashing character icons where they are near death, their faces already tell us to be worried about what might come!
In my opinion, Alpha isn't worth the money. I had a free trial, and subsequent month(unintentionally, didnt realize there was still money on the prepaid card I used to cover the fee) and the stuff that is alpha exclusive just didn't seem all that interesting to me, and I'd guess not to many others either!

My greatest concern is that Critical Role bubbles into an extremely successful show but then pops as the people involved have a misunderstanding or there's some complication with the company, something. I know Matt has publicly voiced how he worries about this too and that the crew is constantly monitoring how they're doing and making sure everything is fine, which is great. I just really don't want to see one of the greatest live shows to crash and burn when it has such a fantastic and loving community.

Note: The times I seem angry with players, is because I care. You bring us viewers into your game, and we become part of it, not by playing, but by being the metagaming pigeon(does that make sense?), that's why I and so many critters get upset at times. We care. You made us, and still make us care. Keep doing what you're doing, but I do have one small requests... you may chuckle at the word small after you read it: Make some mens underwear that say "Gilmore's Glorious Goods" on the front. ;) Perhaps Sam could inspire us all to buy them...
