Sorry to hear about your dad Jeff. Hope the best for him. Keeps raining here too. Got some planted was pretty conservative with what I did between showers but it all came up. Not all my neighbors are so lucky.
I have a neighbor that sells the big drones for spraying, he's convinced that is the future. For small fields I'm sure they will be, but I won't tackle a 160 field with one. LOL
Thats how I became a dairy farmer, helped dad, then helped him some more, then he just quit doing everything except holding the couch down😆. Looking forward to uncensored, thats the way I'm starting to get🤣
same as us in wisc wet as hell was down by Madison yesterday and seen ditches in planted fields a foot deep and 4ft wide not good by my neck of the woods nothing planted and rain every 3 days, best of luck this year jeff and you are rite abought fjb.
I sure hate to here that about the ditches washing out. We took a drive today and seen 2 fields that was planted out of a whole lot not planted. And that was in an area that they really get with it early.
I did the exact thing yesterday after baling some hay. Well about 1 hours worth....13 miles of road ditches 😳😳😳 Hope things are as well as posible, and being the lone ranger, it goes smooth. I bet those blades are quadruple that price now!! 🤬 You had a safe 50 dollar bet on that rain and soaked before getting to the house!! Thank you for bringing us along Me Jeff!! 😁👍🇺🇸
Got the planter in the field for the first time, yesterday, 5/4/24, just East of Champaign-Urbana. We have sprayed pre-emergence herbicide on everything and worked some ground that should be a good stale seed bed. We got chased out of the field by that 12:42 rain, yesterday. The heaviest rain we've had in quite awhile. Had an inch in an hour. It still wasn't exceptionally dry from previous rains.
Must be tricky mowing the ditches and not get stuck, usually wettest areas. Those corn stalks piled up along road was some sight. Boy it was raining hard.
Hey, I'm proud of you for not hitting that rural reference sign post when you were mowing there 😉👍 I'm glad to be out of the dry spell we've had ,but it can get wet a hellva lot quicker than it can get dry now days 😉
I would like too, but it just don't hold water around the endgate like it used too. I need to put some duck tape around the bottom edge and then it would be good to go for water collection. LOL

Sorry to hear your father can’t help you anymore. Was this a sudden thing? When my Dad and father in law could not help me anymore I was on my own for a couple years till my oldest boy could help. Also had my brother and a neighbor that retired.
He's got skin cancer on his face and its in his sinises and it's got the side of his face all swollen and one eye is swelled shut. it's putting pressure on his optical nerve causing loss of sight in the other eye.
@@onehappyfarmer3461 I am so sorry to hear that Jeff. I am sure it’s very hard on him not being out there in the tractor. I hope he can recover to some level of comfort.
@@obieacres4676 He’s definitely miserable all the time. Just sits in his recliner all day long. He might step outside during the day to supervise me when I’m there loading grain or messing with equipment.
I was being realistic. lol. I bet some of those workers would work pretty hard but I also see how hard they are on farm equipment on these big dairy farms.
Sorry to hear about your dad Jeff. Hope the best for him.

Thank you Sam. I’m glad you was able to get some stuff planted.
Enjoyed watching! Hope you can get in the field soon ! I hope your dad feels better soon too !
I wish you a very successful Jeff! You need to get you one of those big drones that spray fields- I bet your dad would love that 😂

Thanks for watching Nelson. Looks like you been having a good time planting corn.
@@onehappyfarmer3461 Giving it my best 😁😁😁

I like those stale seed beds.
That's how you got the name, one happy farmer.
HAHAHA

You just know which ones stay wet longer and avoid them. And if you forget, you will find out. LOL
Thanks for the ride Jeff
Thanks for riding along Jan.
Unrestricted Jeff TV. Bring it on!
Will Sherri take an active role in operating equipment 🚜
I plan on having her in a tractor when ever it dries up.
Great timing, just started to rain here. Looking forward to a freed One Happy Farmer keeping the real more real.
We could see the lightning Jeff. I love mowing of all kinds so that job would suit me to a T.
You could get a full time job here mowing. And you’d have a variety of mowing equipment to keep things interesting. Lol
@@onehappyfarmer3461 If I lived closer, I'd take you up, on that.
👍👍
Does this mean you elevate to combine operator ❓
I hope Sheri can run the combine in wheat so I can keep the grain away.
The mower is not used to cutting grass that has been watered with so much water. The grass blades are bigger than the mower blades, lol.
Must be something like that, it sure wasn't cutting like it should.
Come on Jeff tell us how you how you just like the grumpy farmer.
Hahahahaha
Hope dad is feeling ok. Probably tough on him to not be out doing things. Thx
He’s in pretty bad shape. And yes it is driving him crazy not being able to do anything. Thanks for asking.

@@btowannab9232 Haha. Well, since I am on the township board, I have to set a good example. Lol
Raining now in vermilion county. Worked in flower beds and garden. First time in two weeks. Not much in around here
Some of these guys that farm half the state are gonna start getting nervous.
Prob good thing he's out the way old folks typically just cause more probs then worth when comes to wrkn ready to see more vids pal
Are you still using the big Aluminum rain gauge??😂

Sounds like it might be a long season without your dad running equipment. Sucks to be a 1 man show at times
Yes it is, especially when cleaning out bins.
Andy if you are on here I went to maps and found campground rode south of jeff. Haha

But what will the people who ask why you aren’t running the combine going to focus on now?
Funny thing is , I’m hoping to get my wife to run it. lol.
Monse good job for me you can put your talents somewhere else needed worse
