    I enjoy watching your video, I like your personality. I’m thinking about moving to Canada in a couple of years from the US. I’m planning on visiting this fall, I’m deciding between Montreal and Toronto. The weather will not be a bother to me since I lived in the Midwest and South of the US. 😂😂extreme hot and cold weather. Is racism a big issue in Montreal? Is it as bad as the US?

    • @ANNAMUTOMBO
      @ANNAMUTOMBO  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much for your nice comment! Wow hahah you’re definitely ready for canadian weather than 😂😂 about racism I don’t really know for Toronto but in Montreal there definitely is racism but it’s really not as bad as in the U.S. It really depends also on the neighborhood. But Honestly as a black woman I really feel comfortable walking around at pretty much any time of the day or the night almost everywhere in Montreal. So I would definitely recommand Montreal and visiting first as you’re planning to is a really good idea!

    I disagree. Not most Montrealers speak franglais. Chez les jeunes, oui, il y a un effet de mode et une inconscience face aux conséquences du franglais. Et ce sont les francophones qui parlent franglais, rarement les anglophones. Autrement, j'ai plutôt l'impression que les gens parlent soit français, soit anglais. Il y a toujours une langue dominante en chacun de nous.

I am an Anglophone and it took a long time to learn but to work it is a necessity. This was a nice video I agree the diversity of Montreal makes it great I wish all people could understand that. Have a nice sunny cold day. Bomb Dia.

    • @hdufort
      @hdufort 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you never ever get out of the west island or downtown you can function in English and ignore French all you want. But what's the point of living in Montreal if you don't visit the rest of Québec? You'll never see the Fall colors,.you won't go swimming in a lake, you won't go to a sugar shack, you won't visit the old city of Québec or cute villages. So if you want to really enjoy living in Montreal, and not miss out on 80% of what's going on in the province, it's good to learn some French.
