I am an Icelander, been born and raised in Iceland. I watched the lava flow across the road. I used to be a driver for the public bus company in Reykjavik and drove the bus bus you stayed in, and the other one to the side of it. I also happen to have found a carreer witch gives me th opportunity to travel around the country and show it to those wanting to have a tourguide and hear stories and now about the history and geology, to name just a few things to see

The most beautiful country I have ever visited. I worked in a fish factory for 6 months in a town called Vopnafjordur on the north eastern coast. I lived there throughout the winter of 1986/87 and therefore the culture and the country were not that exposed to the outside world. The Icelanders were so proud to share their heritage and their hospitality was the best. I have unique memories of Iceland that I will always treasure
What a fun adventure. My sons first time walking on frozen pond was the fish pond at the military hospital where his father was recovering from brain injury. He loved seeing the fish swimming under the frozen water. A good memory
Wow !! I am smiling all the way ! I had recently watched the brilliant colors in the night sky over Iceland. What an epic trip this is ! Beautiful camera work, those shots of the boys , so sweet. So moving. You two are such gifted parents, letting them explore on their own, getting stuck in the mud. They will watch this later over and over again and show their partners what a special time they had as a family ! Thank you for having us along. 🙏💕🌷
Wow what an amazing country Iceland is it is on my daughter’s bucket list to see the Northern Lights, we saw the Northern Lights last weekend in the UK.❤️❤️
Tara, you are amazing, you are a fantastic editor! The video is great! Wonderful sights and landscapes, the geysers and the waterfall... it's completly breathtaking! What extraordinary experience you had!
I'm in Michigan, 73 yrs old, and I still love stepping on crackily glass ice in puddles ;) I've become almost a connoisseur in the perfect puddle conditions. Yeah, sometimes the small experiences hold with you in memory for a lifetime....
I was only in Iceland once as a lay over on a flight to Germany. My husband had gone ahead to find housing and I flew with our two boys, 5 and 5 months. As we took off to continue our trip to Germany my 5 year old decided to get on the floor and crawl all the way to back of the plane, under the seats! Most people were able to see the humor of this little boy pushing past their legs on his journey. Was it stressful? YES! Would I do again? Absolutely! Wonderful video, makes me want to book a trip. Thanks.
Love your travelling experiences with the kids. We just had one child so he came everywhere that we went. We had lots of fun travelling with him. Some people think you can’t travel with little ones but as you know kids are always up for a new adventure. We went into a Dutch restaurant once and sat down for a meal. When they brought the food to us my son was not too happy as they gave him a large spoon to eat with. He was only two but we taught him to eat with a knife and fork. The lady said what is wrong. We told her he is use to a knife and a fork. She of course went to get one and brought her husband with her to watch him eat his meal. They laughed watching him. We had fun with the Dutch people and as you can see will always remember these adventures. Kids bring out the simple things in life and make it important. Enjoy the fun with the kids.🧸🧸🛍🛍
TGIF Newby family, so much fun with the boys in the blue lagoons, in the muds, in the frost, teaching chess to your boys John just lovely, seems waterfalls follow you everywhere Tara, returning to old adventures in the Van-Bus travels, it stays with you doesn't. Hope to see more of Iceland with you especially the Aurora Borealis. What a contrast of country with its geysers, hot springs, volcanoes eruptions, earthquakes even, a tsunami of landscape with it's gorgeous mountains and icebergs. I feel the Lord in His creation decided to leave all His Masterpieces there. A MONUMENT OF NATURE. Hope to see more. VERTU BLESSAðUR🙏💖🥰👶👱♂️🇮🇸 🏡🌄

Magical! Simply magical! Wow what a trip this is. As the boys get bigger and bigger, it gets more fun because we get to share in their new experiences and fun. To see this through a child’s eyes has always been a favorite of mine. Love and hugs to all you wonderful Newbys👍👍🤗🤗👩👨🦱👶👶🩷🩵🩵🩵👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍
Absolutely stunning views! Thank you Newby's for this amazing breathtaking views of this beautiful slightly untouched land! The geysers footage was National Geographic moment, but how do u explain their phenomenal behavior to the boys!?? The thermal lagging 🤯🤯🤯 wow! 🏔️🌬️
You are so welcome Linda. We are happy to hear you enjoyed this episode. We loved our time there. We explained how the geysers worked and they were fascinated 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
What a nice trip. The geysers were fascinating to see and learn about. What a beautiful waterfall….although I’ve grown up with Niagara Falls. What a well done bus conversion.
Crusoe really took to the hot springs! So cute! What a spectacular waterfall, breathtakingly beautiful! The closest I've been to Iceland was an hour layover. Glad I got to see the beautiful island with your family. What a fun, quirky trailer with stunning views!
Thank you Tara and John for sharing your trip to this fascinati🎉ng and beautiful country. What fun the boys had crunching ice with their feet...and Crusoe getting stuck in the mud. What a waterfall...whew....absolutely stunning. Marvellous country. And I had absolutely no idea about its wonders
Hello Newbys thanks for taking us along on your family adventure. I didn't realise how beautiful Iceland was. Another enjoyable experience for Crusoe and Sawyer.
Thank you... Brought back memories of a GeoSurvey I took part in back in 1982. We did the Golden Circle tour, so seeing Geyser & Gulfoss again made me smile. Iceland never ceases to amaze does it..
Lovely, lovely video. Besides the gorgous views and heartwarming reactions from the boys - Tara your narration was so beautiful. I so appreciate all the time you put into the filming, narration and editing of every video you produce.
Tara thank you for bringing us along on this journey to a place so beautiful. The blue lagoon looked like a fairy land or dream sleep. How awesome. It’s so good to see Sawyer out and about with Crusoe. Sawyers favorite was rocks and Crusoe was breaking ice and stopping in mud. What a wonderful experience. You two share with us just like we were there with you as part of the family or tour guides. I love your trips.. thank and blessings 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Coucou Tara et John. Magnifique ce voyage en Islande. Vous nous faites voyager en même temps. Trop bien les eaux thermale. Crusoe était ravi ainsi que son petit frère. Gros bisous à vos quatre. ❤💖🥰
What an amazing place, my son went there 10 years ago before he got married and he just loved it. Watching the boys in the ice covered puddles was so much fun. At least 70 years ago I remembered doing the very same thing, and even now at 74 I will walk over the thin covered ice puddles with joy, remembering my childhood. Sawyer and Crusoe will so have such wonderful memories thanks to their terrific parents.Love tagging along with you. ENJOY!!!! Always Donna USA
That was an absolutely monumental episode! It made me miss my last home state Montana and Yellowstone Park there which is very similar in terms of its geothermal activity. I get plenty lava here on the big island though. Your cinematography was really great and you caught so much! It was a really good tour, Iceland tourism authority should be paying you big time! And I love Tara's waxing poetic, great to see you all looking so happy and healthy.
Thankyou for taking us on this lovely adventure, curso fascinates me when he stomps in all the puddles I remember doing that when I was a child and I'm 70,fun fun fun
I absolutely loved watching your trip. It makes me wish I could once again travel with my children when they were toddlers. Such special memories. Well done you two. 👏
That was absolutely delightful. Tara you mentioned first times are amazing, but I am sure the times you see the kids do or go or experience something for the first time are magical. The wonderment of kids is something to behold. And Iceland is such a beautiful place. And the people there are soo friendly. It felt a little like I was back there myself, thank you soo much for that.
So glad you got to go to one of my absolute favourite places in the world. It looks just as fabulous as I remember it -not least because of some wonderful filming and editing. T x and Flossie🌋💚🌋💚🌋💚🌋💚
I’m in North Carolina and last week we were able to see the Aurora Borealis here for the first time in my lifetime. Utterly amazing! I really enjoy your travels.
I follow a couple of other channels that have been showing Iceland and the volcanoes. I loved seeing your family in Iceland and see a bit different view and experience of the same area. It is so fun to see your boys experience the frozen stuff and being at the Blue Lagoon.
Love how much fun the boys and puppy are having ❤ While watching John build the stone house, I cannot help but keep thinking there should be some way to have a private loft bed for the two of you. Those boys are growing fast. I raised three boys and loved it! However, I just needed a little respite from “boy world”now and then. I will say, that since my boys have grown, I am always surprised how much they were influenced by my hobbies and projects I love. You just never know what will “take”. It will be exciting to see what passions the boys will have. You are both doing such a lovely job with them.
Tara, you are just Beautiful, inside and out. You don't need to talk, your facial expressions say it all, mind you I really like your accent and the way you tell a story! Love It!
Mother Earth is so amazing and in your travels the family is experiencing so much together. Sure traveling is easier as a couple, but oh the magic to travel with children to see their world at their level. I thoroughly enjoyed this travel video. Thank you. 😊❤
We traveled with our 3 children all over the world. I recently asked my 45 year old daughter what she specifically remembered? She said the watermelon drink in Caracas, street vendors in Johannesburgh, the Angel falls in Venezuela, the enormous burger she had in Melbourne, black sand in Teneriffe, Chinatown in New York and to top it off having to go around the Alhambra in her slippers as the strap in her sandals broke! I had to laugh. Still I am convinced that travelling does broaden the mind even subconsciously.
What an amazing adventure for you all, especially the boys. I was just looking at little Sawyer watching the waterfall so intently and wondering what his baby mind was making of it all.
Whst a fantastic trip to remember so beautiful. Iceland should 👏🏼👏🏼You for free advertising. With the 2 lucky boys you have patience of a saint and we can tell how much you both love it. Great places to stay everything you really need. Views are so stunning. So glad you got to enjoy this get away from work. Be safe❤️
I have been to Iceland with my son his then wife and their 2 children 18 months and 3 We stayed in an air BnB just outside Reykjavik town centre We went to the waterfall I remember the sound of the water and my screensaver is still on my computer as there was a rainbow across the valley We went to the secret lagoon smaller than Blue and I loved it but we also walked through lovely gardens past the zoo to the municipal baths also worth visiting Reykjavik is a lovely city unlike anywhere else I had ever been 🙂
Wonderful trip. I immediately recognized the waterfalls and have the same shots from my trip in July 2013. ♥ So interesting to see the landscape changes. Can’t wait to see more!!
So lovely to see one of my favourite (from a distance) places in the world. Iceland has always been on our bucket list but living in New Zealand, for various reasons it has not occurred. Not likely to happen now "The Lad" (Husband, 5 months younger) and I are in our late-70s so travel is very difficult with various medical ailments mostly peculiar to our generation.
Photography is sooo good, Tara! The music to go along with the geyser activity, interesting. We called those water eruptions ‘guy-zers’. The relationship of geysers to the weather is fascinating. Did you notice the greenhouses? Warmed by natural volcanic heating! Houses, also! In fact, sometimes windows/doors of houses have been left open, as the volcanic heating Cannot be turned down! Wowee! We stayed at the Hotel Ranga, a lovely spot in the middle of waterfalls, Icelandic horses nearby and a cottage area for watching the stars and northern lights! The whole roof opens to facilitate the viewing. It was cloudy for us…in December. Not much for viewing the Aurora, sadly. So glad you went! And to swim in the Blue Lagoon! Excellent….so happy it was open for you. Ginger from Michigan
What a wonderful trip! I am so jealous. Iceland is now on my bucket list for sure! I remember when my parents took me to the top of the Eiffel Tower when I was seven. It was magical. How lucky to get blue skies and sunny days. I love geysers. I'm from Wyoming originally, so I remember Old Faithful in Yellowstone. The boys must be over the moon to see all this. The chess lessons may be an ongoing project. Lol! Thanks for sharing all this. Blessed Be!
What an awesome vlog. Many first times there. I can't wait to see more. The boys are so adorable. What a magnificent adventure. I miss the northern lights also. We would see them often growing up in Labrador. Here in the city in Surrey, BC, we don't see them as the city has too much light. We were told not to whistle to them growing up or they will take you away. Naturally, we all had to put that to test. When I was doing outpost nurse in northern Labrador, I would go for walks on the harbor ice, and the northern lights were absolutely stunning. Thanks for a great vlog.❤
I love watching this as it has me revisiting some of the spots I visited 9 years ago and reminds me there is so much more to see, I need to go back. Thanks for the reminder.
Such a beautiful country and family. The boys brought back childhood memories of breaking the puddle ice! I have to admit that, at 74, I still do it sometimes!🤪 Sending lots of love! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and one more❤️ for Obi!
Wow that was a great video. So pretty. I loved the waterfall, and the blue lagoon. The boys looked like they were having a great time. I’m gonna have to visit Iceland. Never been on my list of places to go. I know there’s another video coming, but hug Obi for me when you get back home. I’m still missing my beloved Domino, but this was an awesome distraction. Thanks, it was great.
As always, your photography is so beautiful. I can hardly imagine sitting in the bus playing chess while you have that view outside your window. Epic! Thanks for this "quickie" of Iceland, an amazing place.
Very nice editing….. especially on the geysers and waterfalls. So beautifully captured. Loved the vibe at the blue lagoons…. Maybe one day I can be so lucky to experience it all as well. Excited to see if you see the northern lights 🤞🤞
Just catching up with your Iceland adventures, a place that's definitely on my bucket list! What a wonderful life you're creating for yourselves as a family.
Absolutely stunning! The waterfall was so beautiful. Looks like you had an amazing trip, with such fun places to stay and the boys experiencing jumping on frozen puddles!
What a fun trip thank you so much for taking us along your children are going to have the most wonderful memories as they grow up what a beautiful blessed family you are. I'm so happy to be part of your life
Tara, you can't imagine the joy you brought me when you said 'fewer people'!!! 😍 I'm a TESOL teacher and I can't believe how many native English speakers I hear on TH-cam say 'less people' (practically everyone) 🙄😖!! Oh, the footage of Iceland was cool too! 😂🤣

Have always been fascinated by the spectacular raw beauty of Iceland…..enjoyed this immensely!! ⛰️⛰️⛰️
Absolutely awesome. Thank you for taking us along on this wonderful tour. Refreshes the spirit.... Soul food
Wonderful to see my own country with your eyes ❤️Happy to know that your staying was a pleasure one. Kær kveðja Agnes 🇮🇸
Be safe❤️
Ola sweet family thanks for taking me to Iceland beautiful . The boys looking very happy and enjoy. See you Sunday 😊
We had the absolute best time Marilia 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
Wow…remembering when we were there with our then 4 year old, a meter of snow, impressive country
Beautifully filmed and a delight to watch. Such wonder memories made. X
I have been to Iceland with my son his then wife and their 2 children 18 months and 3 We stayed in an air BnB just outside Reykjavik town centre We went to the waterfall I remember the sound of the water and my screensaver is still on my computer as there was a rainbow across the valley We went to the secret lagoon smaller than Blue and I loved it but we also walked through lovely gardens past the zoo to the municipal baths also worth visiting Reykjavik is a lovely city unlike anywhere else I had ever been 🙂
Amazing Jacqueline! 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
How very beautiful! Now I need to add Iceland to my bucket list.
Your accommodations are so quaint. Enjoy every minute. 💕
What an amazing experience. You’re giving your boys the whole world as their playground.
Ok I have decided that next life if I come back to the earth I am going to choose parents like you so I can experience a childhood of adventures 😀
You are so kind friend! Thank you for the lovely compliment 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
Thanks!
This is amazing Beverly! Thank you so so much 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
Photography is sooo good, Tara!
Thank you Virginia! We had an absolute blast in Iceland and can't wait to share part two with you soon ❤️❤️
The boys are enjoying their time 🕰️ in Iceland 🇮🇸 look amazing place enjoy relax 🌻🫂🌻🫂🌻
Blessed Be!
I love and cherish these videos of travelling with your boys. Every weekend, when my kids were young, we travelled somewhere. Best times of my life.
LOVE IT!!
It’s an outstanding country, with such a unique landscape and great people!
Thanks Profs! Hope life’s good with you! I see you smashed 5K subs recently, huge congrats, that’s no easy thing to do. 👍👍👍
Iceland is so amazing. I always love seeing you traveling around with the boys. ❤
Loved seeing Iceland through your eyes. Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing the Iceland trip. Absolutely breathtaking. ❤
🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing an amazing landscape! ♟️Checkmate! This was a winner! 😊
Tara, your words really touched me today. Thank you for your words, and the beauty of iceland.
❤️❤️
What an awesome vlog. Many first times there. I can't wait to see more. The boys are so adorable. What a magnificent adventure. I miss the northern lights also. We would see them often growing up in Labrador. Here in the city in Surrey, BC, we don't see them as the city has too much light. We were told not to whistle to them growing up or they will take you away. Naturally, we all had to put that to test. When I was doing outpost nurse in northern Labrador, I would go for walks on the harbor ice, and the northern lights were absolutely stunning. Thanks for a great vlog.❤
We can't wait to show you more Peter! 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
So happy you are in Iceland, it's on our bucket list! Such beautiful scenery, love the thermal baths. This is gonna be a good one!
Iceland has been on my bucket list for awhile. Beautiful cinematography! I'm sure it was even more magical in person!
Thanks so much friend. The views were incredible 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
Thanks!
This is so kind Pamela! Thank you so so much 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
Very nice editing….. especially on the geysers and waterfalls. So beautifully captured. Loved the vibe at the blue lagoons…. Maybe one day I can be so lucky to experience it all as well. Excited to see if you see the northern lights 🤞🤞
Such a fun video to watch! Iceland looks so interesting. Nice too see your family having a holiday! Thanks for sharing! 🦋
What a great experience for the whole family. Plus you didn't have worry about crowds and pollution like being in India.
Just catching up with your Iceland adventures, a place that's definitely on my bucket list! What a wonderful life you're creating for yourselves as a family.
You've lived up to your Logo on this one. Way to go Newbys!!
I'm so happy to be part of your life
Thanks for joining us on this adventure Judie! 🇮🇸❤️🙏🏼
I am so glad I could put a smile on your face Ange! ❤️❤️
Tara is a magnificent storyteller.
