    SubhanAllah. I was talking to my husband about this. I personally prefer Bayna Yadayk because I feel the vocabulary is more practical for everyday people. Whereas the vocabulary in Madinah Arabic books is more specific to university students, its also very grammar heavy. So if you’re not the type that loves grammar it can get pretty boring especially when you dont feel that you are getting enough practical vocabulary to use in day to day life at home.

    I've completed all the 3 Madina books and now I'm studying Arabiyya Bayna yadaik, and I can say that having built the basic grammar with Madina Books, now I'm finding Bayna Yadaik super easy. Otherwise starting from Bayna Yadaik can be confusing if you don't know basic grammar like the 3states of words and how the pronounciatiob changes.
    Studying both would be a good option.

    I think the charm with Madinah book 1 and 2 especially as a novice is that they teach you the sentence structure in Arabic and explain why you put them in order. This really aids you as a beginner student cause you get to practise that quite a lot and gradually. If you dive in to Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk chances are you’ll get confused on the word order or how to build a sentence that makes sense. Madinah Books mentions the cases of the asmaa’ and this can greatly impact the sentence as well as sentence order etc. My recommendation if you’re studying alone without any teacher is doing Madinah Book 1 and 2 and then starting with Bayna Yadayk. MB will give you the foundation for which you’ll stand on and the vocabulary to build your sentences with as long as training in how to speak/vocabulary in context can be found in ABY.

    We don't learn Sarf and Nahw to converse with some in akhi in a coffee shop. The purpose behind these sciences is ultimately to understand the Quran.
    Many of these people who can converse in Arabic are poor in sarf and nahw. This is why you see so many misinterpretations and misunderstandings of Islamic texts.

    Traveling to study in Egypt will never help you because EVERYONE SPEAKS SLANG/called amiyyah. Literally half of the vocab differs from fusha used in Quran and Modern Standard Arabic.
    I never met an educated Egyptian who could carry on a conversation for more than 5 minutes in proper Arabic. They even use the slang in the university.
    The only exceptions may be Quran teachers, and even some of them have difficulty.
    The reason is NOBODY SPEAKS ARABIC. NOW.
    Go to Egypt to learn Quran..they are the best!
    Memorize as much as you can and Allah will reward you for your effort and you will be able to speak Arabic by this means.
    Studying grammar is not important unless you have a high goal of reading classical books of tafseer, hadeeth, fiqh etc.in Arabic
    They add the prefix b to verbs and the suffix sh. Really it is tragic. Also literacy is only 60%.

    Only الله knows how many people have learnt Arabic by using the Madinah Arabic books so I think this is very bad advice from a young student of knowledge to advise against studying the Madinah Arabic books. There's a reason why it is the most famous series of books teaching the Arabic language to those who cannot speak it. Sometimes we have to look at the evidence (of its popularity etc) and disregard our own opinions which is based on limited personal experience. I hope A.T has a chance to reflect upon his statements and take back some of what he has said.

    If your aim is not to become a student of Islam, then learning conversational Arabic is fine. The problem with not learning classical Arabic you cant even understand the Quran, or the Hadiths. Because you do not understand how Arabs spoke. How are you going to understand the meaning. Also Fuṣḥā which is Modern Standard Arabic is not the same as Classical Arabic, people today confuse the two.

    Think about it, how did you learn your 1st language as a baby?

    I went to Madinha a few years ago, i entered the Class with ZERO understanding of Arabic... but I could read the letters.
    The teach speaks in Arabic only and would give commands to the students in Arabic to open their books and write XYZ in our notepads...
    Naturally i didnt understand anything except the odd word like hadith or customary words of Muslims like Salah etc;
    It was very difficult to sit for 4 hrs and have teachers come in and teach books but not know what they are talking about...
    I am with Abu Taymiyyah

    Can we just say medina books Are for experts? Like algebra is for math experts? When you don’t know 1+1 you cant do Algebra so its Not very intelligent when you Start with algebra before you don’t know the basics, i think its that easy.

      No . Madina book volume 1 is very easy and it's not for experts but for beginners who don't know anything except how to read arabic with harkaat . And I'm saying this with my experience .

    Most learning conversational Arabic but have no Arabic speakers to practice on is a waste. Since you need constant practice otherwise you will forget what you learnt.

      Nope, i speak english well and i never lived in a english speaking country. I simply used it here after years of listening and reading english. Soon as i started speaking it it became easier and now i can easily converse even though i haven't spoken it for 2 years or so.
      So no, learn to converse, learn basic vocab and everyone will be fine. Speak to yourself, anything to keep it going.

    • @htmoh8115
      @htmoh8115 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mohamudahmed6554 English is one of the easiest language to learn. So many who studied Arabic can't formulate a sentence properly. Everyone is different. You can't use yourself an expect people to be same as you. This is a basic common sense in the English language.

    • @mohamudahmed6554
      @mohamudahmed6554 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@htmoh8115 True, can't generalize, but it kinda seems like its pretty general and that the exceptions are those who easily forget a language. If someone learns a language (listening and understanding what they read) then learn to speak it, unless they completely ignore the language they should be fine. This is usually specific to those who say "Yeah i once learned x as a kid, but then never used it and forgot about it" . I also have a similar experience, completely neglected this once language and now i only remember how to count.
      I also speak 2 other languages and use one daily and same goes for many people i know here. I have had the experience of my language skill becoming less advanced in my native tounge and so do most of us who's parents migrated to Europe specially when. So watching few videos in the target language here and there and reading books should keep one not forgetting about basic communication. At the end of the day, a person can use easy and simple sentences.
      So no, learning how to speak arabic is definitely not a waste. Specially in a country where the muslim in the masjid speak arabic like the UK and even here in Finland. Have you tried to learn conversational arabic and then forgotten it? I don't think so. It is not easy to forget a language specially if you read and listening in that language.
      As for english, its easy, but once you learn it and speak it, forgetting it is difficult unless you stop listening and reading everything related to that language and same goes for every other language.
