This melody is so haunting on a baritone guitar Is it possible that instrumental covers could be put on streaming services? I would play them on repeat for hours
@@Howitchewstofeel5gum sometimes we forget that, despite being an 80s/90s hard rock artist, Kurt grew up on The Beatles, thats about the best school there is for learning how to intuitively voice lead and write melodies. One doesnt necessarily hear the beatles in Nirvana but the foundations are there for sure
@@justinguitarcia Oh for sure. And I think you can definitely hear the Beatles in his songs. Like, Serve the Servants is basically a Beatles song played with heavy distortion lol.
Can't imagine anything other than baritone voicing to do that song justice. The arrangement and dynamics are so befitting of Kurt's vocal - lovely take.
Love the little dynamic touches (like the quieter stab in the chorus) - now that I think about it a sort of subtle nod to the soft/loud aspect of the genre. Classy. This man is so talented.
Two Masterpieces played by a master. Carlos Lopez and family have built an extraordinary baritone in the Castedosa Conchers. It is my most prized possession of my guitars after my first Tele that my grandmother purchased for me in 1983. Nothing I own, or frankly have ever played--feels, looks, or sounds like my Castedosa. This performance by Nathaniel reflects that perfectly, Thank you Kurt, thank you Nathanial, and thank you Carlos.
coolest thing about Nathanial's versions of songs is, beside his insane playing, the fact that he makes me remember how amazing those melodies are and how we, sometimes, "take it from granted" when we listen to the original versions
I typically never leave comments on videos, but I had to sign on just to compliment your playing. I have the MXR Clone Looper as well And it’s inspiring to see your use of it in all these demos. Your playing is top-notch too, and how you phrase songs when you demo them. Great job again, dude!
Thank you for the the comment - not because I’m the performer or arranger, but because you took a closer look than I did and saw that Nathaniel is not playing all the parts at the very same time, but is in fact, using a looper. This arrangement appears to be just THAT much more achievable now!
@@HSTRTGMS I’m actually not using the looper for this Nirvana arrangement. Just straight into the amp. I used the looper in the main demo for the Adele song
@@Zeppelinbarnatra damn, dude! Boyhood dreams, dashed yet again. Great work. Maybe I’ll try a violin arrangement, but it won’t be the same! I would have loved to see what you would have pulled off on the Marauder that I was lucky enough to have snagged, though Ehmed put together a great demo, nonetheless!
Man people just love haphazardly throwing the word “underrated” around. He’s easily one of the most notable guitar demonstrators on TH-cam and has nearly 400k followers on Instagram. Love Nathaniel, but it’s pretty ridiculous to call him underrated.
Truly beyond, brother. To call your take inspired doesn’t quite capture it, truthfully… To make new such a well-known and deeply-loved song while still doing justice to the composition’s innate brilliance is a feat unto itself, but did you have to go and look (and sound) so damn cool while doing it too?!? Just fork over the baritone- and the amp- and take my money already! Brilliant bastards…
Can you please this composition in standard E tuning or do you have to use a baritone guitar with different tuning? Im trying to figure it out in standard tuning and having trouble getting the melody line with the base notes.
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!

Nathanial that was perfect. That would have been a killer James Bond song.
Thank you so much!
does this chord progression sound familiar?! 😊 th-cam.com/video/DeumyOzKqgI/w-d-xo.html
Maybe it will be a hit someday.
Yes!!!
Brooo this song at the end of No Time to Die...
Hey Nathaniel, you should get a raise
A baritone is really something special, even more in your hands Nathaniel 🙏
This melody is so haunting on a baritone guitar

This tbh.
just get yt premium
Yes please 🙏
love nirvana chord melodies, really shows the complexity of Kurt's voice leading
Really he was way ahead of his times
He was an incredibly intuitive writer

Thank you! I agree. I toyed with the idea a while back in doing it on a regular guitar tuned down. Just didn’t work. Baritone was the only way!
Johnny Cash vocals
Nathaniel, you need to record these and put them on Spotify or something. This is just bliss.
✨️💓🦋 I so agree 🦋💓✨️
Not much can approach the beauty of Nathaniel’s playing, but that guitar neck comes close…
Exquisite in its darkness. I want to learn this arrangement. Chills.

💓Beautiful guitar tone & amp sound💓🦋
🎶Thank you🎶
How'd I miss this one? Amazing as always. Your feel is incredible.
This guitar is everything.

Have you heard the tori amos version of nirvana songs? Haunting.
Keep coming back to this masterpiece
Beautiful arrangement. You really brought out the beautiful of this song 👏🏻
This is absolutely the most amazing version of this I’ve ever heard! Great job! I can’t quit listening over and over
This is haunting
beautifully haunting
Wow! So pure. Thank you.
God damn I love Nathaniel Murphy, Levenshulme represent!
Cheers Joe!! Gotta rep Levy! #M19 😂
So good man 🤟
Could almost hear this in The Last of Us or something like that. Love your playing Nathaniel!
Thank you!! Yeh could def work in Last of Us!
Stunning!!!
Haunting and beautiful. Truly. Well done.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful rendition of a great song. Your playing never ceases to amaze. 🙌🏽
🙏🙏🙏
This might be my favourite guitar cover of any song ever ❤️
Perfection. Thank you!
I love the way you play this song softly and a little harder but very clear. An artist at work, beautiful rendition.
Holy Christ this incredible
Thanks for watching!!
Listening on repeat
Great!
Beautiful cover sir
Thanks for watching!!
killer song ,playing , guitar , amp , tone ... perfect !!!
So beautifully haunting.
Awesome arrangement and playing. 🔥
Damn good!
lovely !!!
this way it sounds to me like a Grizzly Bear Song, I like it
Nicely done!! 🔥🔥🔥

Simplemente grandioso
Great playing
That was beautiful. I caught a chopped off version on FB- had to go look for you here. Following……❤
Nice and smooth Mr. Murphy!!
Thank you kindly
That's a beautiful guitar.
B.E.A.Utiful!
Another sensational one from Nathaniel. My wallet thanks my left hand for remembering how the stretchier chords feel on a mere 25.5 tele.
I got no complaints.
0:09 superfluous song title flashes onscreen. That's crazy, when Nathaniel's playing you don't have to tell anyone what it is.
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Natanial is 0ne of the most underrated demo guitarists out there. His playing and arraignments are spectacular.

feels like it belongs in the new batman movie
i was gonna thumbs up but I realized i had already done it 10 months ago
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
wow! is that in a B standard?
I like it more than original.
Goddamn!
Can’t wait to finally see the prices on these old, beat up hunks of wood.
And I mean that ever-so-lovingly

Amazing playing as always. Could use some DS-2 though.
The first chords in this tuning reminds me of The Mash theme song opening chords a little
any chance of putting tab out for any of these arangements? that would be great if so
😭😭😭
man i need the tabs for this!!
For what? You've got a full video of him playing it, you can even slow it down to your liking.
Killer playing and tone! That being said, I am wondering if that loud buzzing is due to the signal chain or the guitar.
I don't think he left voluntarily.
Ahh….when complex melodies and harmonies like this could make it on the pop charts…before nursery rhymes with trap beats ruled the airwaves.
Funny, because Kurt Cobain often likened his melodies to nursery rhymes.
What tuning is this in?
it's in drop A
Is he playing both tracks at the same time? Or is the lead over dubbed?
Both at the same time!!
perfect, except for the nut creekin' when you move the vibrato. some graphite lube up in that
make talks a guitar like a band tks
Hope Dave Grohl knows your name
No fair, playing both parts at once, showoff.
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
